438 Saint Realm - Fighting the Ancient Monster.
A dark space pulsed with a chilling aura, heavy and oppressive, like a suffocating blanket of shadows. At its center lood an ancient altar, its obsidian surface etched with crimson cracks that glowed faintly.
Resting atop the altar was a weathered grey coffin, its surface carved with cryptic runes that seed to writhe and whisper ominously.
Suddenly, an extraordinary phenonon occurred. The space trembled, and a fierce wind swept through, originating just a few feet from the altar.
A human figure materialized, standing calmly in the eerie void. To an ordinary person, the oppressive darkness would have been terrifying, and the ominous coffin a source of unending nightmares.
But this man was far from ordinary. He glanced at the dark space montarily before fixing his gaze on the coffin atop the altar.
Staring at it, Su Yen's expression shifted slightly. From the coffin, he sensed the presence of a powerful being and a palpable, fatal threat.
The altar trembled, and the coffin began to shake—the cryptic runes covering its surface lit up, pulsating like the heartbeat of a slumbering beast.
Creak!
The lid of the coffin slid aside, and an eerily long hand erged.
The dark space trembled violently the mont it appeared, and an overwhelming sense of decay perated the air.
Su Yen watched calmly as the ancient being within the coffin erged. Each movent of the creature exuded an aura of profound nace.
When it finally stood, the monster towered at over three ters in height, its body blackened and scarred from ancient battles. Two long horns curved nacingly atop its head, and sharp wolf-like fangs jutted from its mouth. Its yellowish eyes glowed with a cold, predatory light.
"You're just a re human..." the monster said, its tone laced with disbelief before contorting into an evil grin.
"Who would have thought that before my death, I'd have the chance to savor fresh human blood," it cackled, its voice reverberating through the dark space.
"Now, I can die without regret," it sneered, the grin vanishing as it fixed its gaze on Su Yen. "Alas, it's a pity I cannot return ho."
Lying in a coffin for thousands had almost driven him to the brink of going insane and with his lifespan running, he was only waiting for death but with this human, he couldn't help but be happy. Without hesitation, it stretched out its hand, attempting to grab Su Yen by the neck.
The attack seed casual, yet the dark space shuddered violently as though the world itself responded to the creature's will.
Su Yen's expression grew serious for a mont before he regained his composure. 'Against this old monster, I wonder how strong I've beco.' he thought. Whoosh!
With a flick of his wrist, his erald sword materialized. Without fanfare, he raised it high and slashed downward.
Instantly, the dark space trembled as a brilliant light erupted, carrying a frightening, destructive force.
Bang!
The monster's palm collided with the blade, producing a deafening boom. The shockwave rippled through the space, shaking it as if it were about to collapse.
"Huh," the monster grunted, unaffected by the tremors but visibly surprised.
"A re human repelling my strike?" It chuckled, its grin widening. "With strength like yours, your blood must be exquisite."
The monster attacked again, this ti with a far more terrifying palm strike.
Su Yen smirked and increased his power. His sword strike, filled with lethal intent, surged forward like a raging torrent.
However, when his blade t the monster's palm, it failed to leave even a scratch.
Su Yen was unfazed. He knew both he and the creature were rely probing each other.
After a series of exchanges, the monster's expression grew grim.
"Who are you, and which ancient family do you co from?"
"Why ask? Would you answer my question if I answered yours?" Su Yen retorted, sneering.
Against such an ancient foe, he had no intention of revealing anything about himself or his origins.
"Hahaha! It doesn't matter. I'll kill you, devour your soul, and learn everything I need to know," the monster snarled.
A terrifying aura erupted from its body, pressing down on Su Yen with imnse force.
Feeling the overwhelming pressure, Su Yen's expression hardened. Without hesitation, he released his full cultivation.
Early Saint Stage.
"Tsk! A re Saint dares to act arrogant before ?" the monster sneered and vanished from its spot.
'Danger!'
Su Yen didn't dare to be careless. He disappeared as well, narrowly avoiding the strike.
"Chaotic Sword Strike!"
Compared to his earlier attacks, this strike carried unmatched lethality.
Bang!
The monster countered with a punch, shattering the strike. Both took a step back and stared at each other filled with strong battling intent. Without uttering a word, the two lounged at each other again. Bang! Bang! Bang!
In the blink of an eye, they exchanged hundreds of attacks. The once-calm space transford into a chaotic battlefield and various cracks appeared on the walls and on the floor. The monster's face darkened. It couldn't believe a re Saint could contend with it to this degree.
Though it was far from its peak, even at one-tenth of its strength, it should have been able to annihilate a Saint easily.
'I must kill this human. He must not discover what lies beyond,' the monster thought grimly.
"Human, die!" It roared, unleashing a punch with its full power.
The air twisted, and the space trembled as the punch hurtled toward Su Yen like a raging beast.
Su Yen's eyes narrowed. The attack surpassed the Saint Realm, nearing the peak of the Soul Transformation Realm.
"Open!" he shouted.
A nine-layered black pagoda appeared behind him, and his strength surged exponentially.
"Chaotic Void Strike!"
The sword strike radiated extre sword intent, shaking the space as it tore forward. Everything on the sword path was torn asunder.
Feeling the threat, the monster's face twisted in shock and terror.
'Impossible! This power...'
Although shocked, he recovered quickly as it mustered every ounce of its strength to defend. However, as the strike approached, it vanished into thin air.
"What?!" The monster's eyes widened in disbelief.
Before it could react, the attack reappeared directly before it.
"NOOOOOOO!"
The monster's roar of despair echoed through the collapsing space.
