435 The Necoris Terrifying Secrets.

"Do you think we care if you surrender or not?" A cold, domineering voice ca from the room. "You should be glad we haven't already destroyed your entire race."

When the Necoris heard this, a shiver ran down his spine, and beads of sweat dripped from the corners of his eyes.

This was when he truly realized how frightening the power behind the Celestial Heavenly Store was. Compared to their might, the Necoris were nothing more than ants.

His decision to co to the human kingdom was a critical one for his clan. Like the human race, the Necoris had clans divided into many factions.

To humans, all Necoris might look alike, but to themselves, they were vastly different. Most notably, they were distinguished by the purity of their bloodlines and the lineage they belonged to.

With the destruction of the most powerful clans in their imperial capital, his clan—with its deep inheritance—had seized the opportunity to take control of the entire Necoris race.

Though they had claid sole leadership, the looming threat of the human race hung over them like a deadly blade poised to strike.

When news spread that the Larilia Kingdom had surrendered to the Celestial Heavenly Store, the Necoris knew they had to act swiftly.

They had two options: fight to the death or surrender to the Celestial Heavenly Store.

From their current position, the choice was obvious.

However, as a dominant race on the Magma Plain, and with his clan becoming the sole rulers, many were dissatisfied with the decision made by the clan elders—among them, the very Necoris now lying on the ground, pleading for his life.

Though he had co to surrender on the orders of his elders, his pride as a Necoris still burned deep in his bones.

That was why they had released their powerful auras upon entering the city—a show of strength to prove to human experts that they would not be subdued easily.

But the result of this foolish display had co at a high cost.

Seated on a couch a few feet away was a young man sipping tea calmly.

He did not even bat an eye at the Necoris, treating him as if he were nothing more than an ant that could be crushed at any mont.

Seeing such indifference, fear gripped the Necoris like a vice, and his heart pounded heavily in his chest.

'I should have listened to the elders' advice. Am I going to die here?' The thought of dying on human soil sent a shiver down his spine.

"P-Please don't kill … I know a huge secret," he blurted out when he felt the pressure on his body increases.

If this continued, it was only a matter of ti before he was crushed to death.

Zimo's expression didn't change as he asked calmly, "What secret? I might spare you if it interests ."

"Huh!" The Necoris breathed a sigh of relief as the pressure on his body lessened. Without hesitation, he revealed the secret his race had guarded for centuries.

"So, you're saying there's a sacred land beneath your capital?" Zimo raised his head for the first ti and stared deep into the Necoris's eyes.

Feeling the weight of Zimo's gaze, the Necoris swallowed hard and nodded quickly.

"According to the records left by our ancestors, we didn't originate from this world. We ca from a faraway world that was far more prosperous than this one. To our ancestors, this current world was nothing but a desolate land."

The Necoris paused, raising his head cautiously to look at Zimo, only to find him still staring intently.

"So, what happened?" Zimo asked.

"Ahem… From the ancient records, I've heard that there was a war among the gods that shattered thousands of worlds. Only a few survived, and among them were our ancestors."

"Did the records ntion why they were fighting?"

The Necoris shook his head. "No, but the sacred land might hold answers to this question—and even clues to our original world."

In this last statent, the Necoris's voice brimd with pride and confidence. He believed that if their race persisted, they would one day return to their true ho.

Zimo remained unfazed by the slight pride in his tone and continued questioning.

"So, what makes this sacred land important to ? I'm human. Why should I waste my ti on your race's sacred land?" His voice turned deadly cold, and a slight killing intent escaped from his body.

Instantly, the Necoris felt as though the world had turned dark and oppressive. The stench of blood filled his nostrils, and he felt his very soul leaving his body.

Just when he thought the end had co, the scene vanished, and he realized he was still standing inside the human store.

'Horrifying!' That was the only thought echoing in his mind.

At that mont, he vowed that if he managed to leave this human presence alive, he would ensure that his race would never again beco enemies of the human race.

Against such an opponent, what could their minuscule army hope to achieve? They wouldn't even realize how they died.

"Are you going to speak?"

Zimo's cold words jolted him out of his trance, and he trembled. Although Necoris didn't have skin like humans, he felt as though every scale on his body was standing on end.

"My Lord, I wouldn't waste your ti if the sacred land didn't hold any significance for you," he said, his voice now filled with deep respect.

"According to so records, many human inheritances exist in the sacred land. Our race's inheritance is only part of it. But that's not why our race has kept this secret for centuries. There's another reason."

"Which is?" Zimo asked, trying to remain composed.

The revelation was nothing he had expected. All their attention had been on the Burning Hinterland and its supposed secrets.

Compared to the Necoris's sacred land, the secrets of the Burning Hinterland were insignificant.

The Necoris, overwheld by Zimo's killing intent, responded quickly.

"There's a rumor that the sacred land might lead to much larger worlds."
