Why would the Kingdom's imperial army camp at the border of the Soaring Cloud Region?

Various questions flooded their minds, but no one had answers. They quickly posted the news on You Connect despite their confusion and concern.

As the news spread, the Soaring Cloud Region was thrown into a frenzy. The four city lords were the most affected.

They were supposed to be aware of any significant developnts within their territory, but the sudden arrival of the imperial army had caught them off guard. This realization left them both alard and frustrated.

Initially, so dismissed the news as a baseless rumor, but when multiple sources verified it, the truth beca undeniable.

The region's inhabitants were now both confused and fearful. Why would the imperial army camp at their border?

Are they going to wage war against the ruthless Necoris?

To them, their sole enemy was the Necoris. However, so people could guess why the Imperial army ca to the Soaring Cloud Region.

Acting swiftly, the four city lords rushed to the imperial army's camp to seek answers.

"Lord Marshal, may I ask why you have chosen to station your army at our border?" the Lord of Ironmist City inquired respectfully.

Inside the imperial army's main tent, a group of seasoned generals sat with grave expressions. At the head of the table sat a middle-aged man with a deep scar running from his left ear to his collarbone.

His re presence sent cold shivers down the spines of the city lords.

Seated opposite the Ironmist City Lord was Brigadier General Lei Ming. Fixing his stoic gaze on the city lord, he asked,

"Are you not aware of the death of the Pri Minister?"

"Of course, we are aware," the Ironmist City Lord replied quickly, "but those responsible for it are far too powerful for us to handle."

"What do you an by too powerful?" another brigadier general demanded, his tone sharp. "Your job is to protect the kingdom's interests. How could you fail so miserably?"

"You don't understand the situation, General," the Jadefall City Lord said in a grave tone. "It's not that we failed in our duties. The reality is far more complex than you realize."

"What do you an by that?" an elderly major general interjected coldly, his face red with barely contained anger.

A veteran who had dedicated his life to the kingdom, he could not tolerate the idea of so unknown force causing chaos unchecked.

The tension in the tent rose, and the city lords began sweating under the generals' piercing glares.

"Do you recognize this?" the Ironmist City Lord asked quickly, producing an ordinary-looking ring from his palm.

The generals stared at the ring in confusion. Seeing their expressions, the city lord realized none of them had ever encountered a Spirit Comms device.

"My Lord, I invite you to try this device. Perhaps then you'll understand how helpless we truly are."

The generals exchanged subtle glances, their curiosity piqued. Though rumors of extraordinary communication devices in the Soaring Cloud Region had reached them, none had ever seen one in person.

"Bring it here," the Field Marshal commanded in an emotionless tone.

Taking the ring, the Field Marshal wasted no ti. He sent his consciousness into the device, his expression flickering slightly before returning to its usual impassivity.

Still, the other generals caught the brief change and exchanged knowing looks.

"Interesting," the Field Marshal said with genuine appreciation. This was the first ti he had encountered such a magical device, and he was clearly impressed.

"What do you think, my Lord?" the Ironmist City Lord asked hurriedly, eager to seize the opportunity.

Instead of answering, the Field Marshal asked, "Did the hidden force create this?"

"Yes, my Lord," the city lord confird.

"And they also possess powerful experts who killed the Pri Minister with a single palm strike?"

"Correct."

For a mont, the Field Marshal said nothing, and silence fell over the tent. The other generals watched him intently, waiting for his decision.

Though they were intrigued by the Spirit Comms device, they suppressed their curiosity, focusing instead on the matter at hand.

After a minute of contemplation, the Field Marshal finally spoke. "Tell us everything you know about this hidden force."

The city lords wasted no ti recounting all they knew about the Celestial Heavenly Store. Despite the store's reputation, the lords doubted it could withstand the might of the imperial army.

Five minutes later, the city lords were dismissed from the tent.

Inside, the veteran generals stared at one another, their expressions somber.

"What are your thoughts?" the Field Marshal asked his n.

"My Lord, I advise caution," a young major general began. "A force capable of creating such an extraordinary device and killing the Pri Minister so effortlessly cannot be underestimated. Let us not forget the Pri Minister's strength."

His words elicited frowns from so generals. One of them shouted in frustration,

"Why must we be passive? The Pri Minister was murdered! We must destroy this hidden force to set an example for others!"

"Really? Are you willing to personally face an expert capable of killing the Pri Minister like an ant?" the young major general retorted, his voice laced with scorn.

"Against such a hidden expert, sheer numbers an nothing—unless, of course, you'd like to volunteer to fight them yourself."

Silence fell once more. None of the dissenting generals could offer a reasonable response.

The Field Marshal observed the room silently, his expression unreadable.

"Why don't we attempt dialogue with them?" a general finally suggested in a low voice. "Through that, we can gauge their strength and decide our next course of action."

The Field Marshal's gaze swept over the room, and after a pause, he nodded slightly. "Prepare for a eting with this Celestial Heavenly Store."
