"Are you telling the truth?" Wei De stared at the middle-aged man with a slight shock on his face.
"Young Master, I'm telling the truth. They've opened a store at the center of the city," the middle-aged man called Shao Lan responded affirmatively.
"I see..." Wei De nodded and turned to look into the distance, with various thoughts flashing through his mind.
Since Su Yen and his n first entered their estate, he had a bad feeling about them, and he was right.
"It seems they ca with a lot of money..." His words had a double aning, and Shao Lan looked at his Young Master.
Wei De was known for his ruthlessness and narrow-mindedness. Previously, when he and his father ca to visit Su Yen and his n, they did not respect them and thus fell on his bad side.
He turned and looked at Shao Lan, saying with a sharp evil glint in his eyes, "Place our n around the store and wait for the right opportunity to strike."
"Yes, Young Master." Shao Lan nodded and retreated to complete the order.
While Wei De prepared to take a bite from the big fat sheep, the Wei Clan was also discussing Su Yen and his n's actions.
Inside the Wei Clan's main hall, Wei Zhihao stood before her father. "Father, are you not going to do sothing about this?"
"Do what exactly?" His father asked with a sharp gaze. "Since they decided to open a store without consulting or anyone else, they should bear the brunt and learn a lesson or two."
With that, he waved his hand and sent her out of the main hall. Coming out of the main hall, Wei Zhihao was conflicted and wanted to help Su Yen and his n but did not know how.
"Young Miss, you've tried your best. I think it's best to wait and see how things unfold," Song Guo's voice ca from the side as he and Zhen Jie walked toward her.
"Song Guo is right. The city water is too deep to dig our feet into it right now. The only thing we can do for them is to wait and be ready to respond when they request our help."
With her two friends supporting her father's decision, Wei Zhihao could only sigh and nod.
A day before they opened the store, Su Yen and his n had left the Wei estate and got their mansion in the far western part of the city.
Such a move shocked the Wei clansn, but there was nothing to do but to allow them to leave.
Most of them looked at Su Yen and his n, thinking they couldn't wait for them to co back crying for help.
The Wei clan was part of the few Martial Arts clans in the city, and that was the reason they could still stand their ground in such chaotic tis.
Inside the City Lord's Mansion, standing at the center of Dangping City:
"What is the origin of these n?" An elderly man with a head full of white hair asked his butler.
This was the city lord, the sole man who had been keeping the city from falling into the hands of the Necoris. As a Martial Artist, his strength alone intimidated many of the city's enemies who hid in the dark.
"My Lord, we don't know. According to our intel, they claid to have been lost and saved the young miss of the Wei clan from the Necoris in the boiling desert."
When the city lord heard this, he dropped the scroll and looked at his butler. "How many are they?"
"Just twenty."
"Twenty..." The City Lord squinted and thought for a mont, then asked, "What of the Necoris?"
"Six."
"Hmm..." A slight shock appeared on the City Lord's face.
Even though the Necoris were fewer, their strength was not sothing ordinary people could contest against.

anwhile, in the basent of the gambling den, a group of Necoris gathered and discussed in hushed voices.
"How is the plan?" A tall Necoris asked in a deep voice that sent shivers down the spine of every Necoris in the room.
"Captain, everything is going according to plan. But we have new intel," a Necoris called Cai responded.
"What intel? We're already behind our schedule for the attack. Pray this intel is aningful, or else I'll break your bones."
Cai tightened his black scales and forcefully swallowed the lumps in his throat. "Sir, there are new people in the city who opened a store in the city center. From what we've learned, they're preparing to start recruiting people."
Bang!
"Is that what you call intel? Do you want to break your head and drink your blood? In this chaotic ti, who would open a store, and who would dare work in such a store?" The Captain banged his big fist on the table.
"You call this intel, but this is a re waste of my precious ti. How should I crush your head?" He turned his head and looked at the trembling Cai.
Every Necoris in the basent looked at Cai with slight pity, but no one ca to his aid.
"C-Captain...I'm telling the truth. Many people have been recruited, and they received food from them."

The furious Captain halted in his tracks and looked at Cai with wide eyes. "Why are you just telling this now?! I really need to break your bones."
Cai shivered but did not utter a word as he waited for the Captain's decision.
"We can't allow that. We must not give our slaves a reason to fight back. We must destroy them imdiately." His tone was serious, filled with killing intent.
"Send our allies to act imdiately," he commanded.
"I've already sent them a ssage, but they're waiting for the two powerful gangs to act first," Cai responded.
"What gang? Are they strong?" he inquired in a loud voice.
"Not much...but our allies wanted to use them to test the waters first."
"I hate human cowardice. Why can't they just attack all at once? Who cares about this sche? This is why they will forever be our slaves."
Taking a deep breath, the Captain looked at Cai and asked, "What are the nas of these gangs?"
"They're the Bull Gang and the Untad Gang."
