As the Wang clan gathered their n to attack the Cao clan, the Liu, Chen, and other clans were also doing the sa thing.

At once, both the core and the inner region were thrown into an upheaval.

Everyone was wondering what was going on. Are they under attack?

Is this a clan war?

The not-so-peaceful Baiyun city was thrown into more chaos. This ti around, it aroused the curiosity of everyone. All eyes were focused on the Cao clan and how they would respond.

Tens of clans with their remaining troops marched toward the Cao clan. Even the two behemoths, the city lord and the Crimson Jade Pavilion, had their n keep eyes on the dispute.

What would be the response of the Cao clan?

Would they attack?

Tell them what happened on the southern sea.

Everyone's anticipation was at an all-ti high. Moreover, a new sche was going on apart from the current dispute. The lavish spending of the Cao had gotten on the nerves of everyone.

This was a rare chance to find out.

At the northwestern part of the inner region, a guard was running at the top of his speed.

The two guards guarding the entrance of the Cao clan saw their comrade as if he was being pursued by a ferocious monster.

They gazed behind him and found nothing of such chasing after him.

They exchanged subtle glances with puzzlent etched on their faces.

"Why…."

"Get out of the way!" The running guard shouted, pushing the two guards aside and barged into the mansion.

"You piece of shit!" One of the guards outside cursed with fury.

Shortly, hundreds of heavy footsteps resounded from the distance.

The two guards at the entrance blinked their eyes as they turned in the direction of the heavy footsteps.

When they saw the hundred of n in armor marching toward them with furious expressions on their faces, they swallowed the lumps in their throats. From the insignia on their armor, they were from the Wang clan.

Just as they were wondering why the Wang clan would bring their army toward their mansion, they saw the Liu, Chen, and other clan's soldiers marching toward them as if they were going for war.

Without uttering a word, they took a couple of steps back before turning to rush inside.

When the furious clans arrived in front of the Cao clan, they stopped. Wang Luli, the wife of the Wang patriarch, stepped out of her carriage and looked at the mansion in front of her with obvious hatred.

"Cao ng, get out here now, or else I'll send my n to burn this place to a crisp," she shouted.

Behind her were the wives and elders of other clans. Today, they won't leave until they get a satisfying answer from the Cao clan.

The atmosphere was palpable with strong suffocating tension. Everyone was waiting patiently for the Cao clan matriarch.

Creak!

The door opened, and Cao ng erged with a calm look on her face. Her blue robe hugged her body tightly, displaying all her curves and assets.

Cao ng was one of the most pretty won in Baiyun city. Many powerful n from powerful clans had tried to court her but she refused.

When they failed to court her, they chose another tactic. They pressured her clan, taking all their resources, killing their n.

This put a lot of pressure on their declining clan, but the Cao clan was known for their stubbornness, and Cao ng wasn't any different. She maintained her stand.

Now, with all odds stacked against her and her clan, how would she navigate out of this troubled ti?

"Luli, why are you yelling like a ruffian? That doesn't befit a woman of your status," Cao ng said casually.

However, Wang Luli was so furious that her chest heaved up and down. She gritted her teeth, glaring at Cao ng.

She wanted nothing but to rip the life out of Cao ng. Taking a deep breath to control her anger, 'Don't worry, today you're not escaping unscathed,' she vowed in her heart.

She had once been a rival of Cao ng before she successfully married Wang Duyi.

She thought she was competing against her for Wang Duyi's attention. It was only when she married Duyi did she realize Cao ng was just too proud, and she didn't place Wang Duyi in her eyes.

She realized she had been making a fool of herself right from the beginning. Therefore, she vowed to take revenge but didn't have the chance, not until now.

Nothing could stop her from destroying the Cao Clan.

Right behind Wang Luli, a beautiful woman stepped forward. She was the main wife of the Liu patriarch—Liu Zhi.

"I don't care about the bickering between you two. Just tell what happened to my husband," she asked.

Cao ng turned her gaze and looked at Liu Zhi and said, "Are you stupid or what? When your husband went out to the sea, did he co to ask permission from ? So why in the hell would you be asking his whereabouts from ?"

"Y-You.." Liu Zhi was so furious that she was speechless.

"You what?" She cut her off sharply. "You lot only get looks but no brains. If you all had a bit of common sense, you wouldn't bring your minions to my doorstep like so barbarian. Instead, you would be at the sea looking for your spouse."

For a couple of seconds, everywhere was pin-drop silence. Cao ng's arrogance was way beyond what they planned for. She didn't mince her words at all. She berated every one of them as if she was talking to kids.

Her tone was so poisonous that no one knew how to respond.

Suddenly, a man in his late twenties stepped forward brimming with confidence. He was handso and dashing, a man of every woman's dream.

"Please…"

"Who the hell are you?" Cao ng interrupted, turning her gaze at him.

Hmm!

His confidence entrance shattered imdiately under Cao ng's sharp gaze.

Quickly, he tried to recover his confident self as he opened his mouth to speak, only to be interrupted once again by her.

"Shut the fuck off. I don't want to hear a child crying for his parent. Get lost."

Everyone sucked in a cold breath. Was this the sa Cao ng they knew?!

As for the young man, he froze with his jaw dropped to the ground. He could feel the hot gaze of everyone on his body. With an unruly look on his face, his neck shrank as he retreated with wobbling legs.

'You damn bitch. Let's see how long your arrogance can last.'

Cao ng looked at the speechless group in front of her, her heart racing against her chest. It pounded heavily against her chest like a drum.

'This is insane! His plan worked.' She scread in her heart. She wouldn't have had the guts to behave this unruly if not for Su Yen's words. 'Let loose, show them their place.' That was the word spoken to her by Su Yen.

Looking at the proud look on Cao ng's face, Wand Luli was furious and shouted.

"Capture her; she will tell us everything she knows when we torture her."
