The blizzard from the night before had blanketed the city in a deep layer of snow, leaving most streets nearly impassable. The icy wind had howled through the night, but Ana hadn't let the harsh weather deter her. She had made her way to the library despite the biting cold, determined to uncover more about the ominous "Demon of Noon."

After combing through the archives, she had found what she was looking for—a hidden passage concealed beneath the library's ancient structure. Descending into its depths, she discovered old coven records detailing the Demon of Noon.

Among the dusty tos, Ana stumbled upon a depiction of the demon's familiar magic seal. The sight of it made her pause. It bore an unsettling resemblance to the seal used by the Truth Association, though this one was more corrupted, distorted, and unnervingly sinister.

Her thoughts drifted to Alicarde, who had shown them the seal in the past. This one was undeniably similar, but the added layers of malevolence etched into its design sent a chill down her spine.

Zagarath, the Strigoi leader, was actively seeking to release the Demon of Noon. Even more horrifying was the implication that Zagarath believed he could control it.

Ana sighed as she closed the last of the records, her task at the library complete. The weight of her discoveries pressed heavily on her. Yesterday's findings had painted a picture far more terrifying than she had anticipated.

---

The mansion lood in silence as Ana returned. The snow from the blizzard crunched beneath her boots as she crossed the courtyard, its once-vibrant gardens now buried under a thick, frosty blanket. Inside, the mansion was eerily quiet, its vast halls devoid of the usual chatter and energy.

The silence reminded her of the early days when she and Carrisa had first co here. Back then, the mansion had been a cold and empty refuge, a stark contrast to the warmth it had gained over ti.

Things had changed when Alicarde arrived, his presence bringing a newfound vibrancy. Later, Argint had joined, initially intent on killing Alicarde but eventually becoming part of their strange, dysfunctional family.

And then, of course, there was Elizalina, whose seductive and beguiling deanor had added an unexpected charm to their group.

Ana's normally stoic face softened as a faint smile graced her lips.

'This place just isn't the sa without you, Ali,' she thought.

He had only been gone a few days, but it felt far longer to her. His absence had left a noticeable void, one that no one else could fill.

Shaking off the lancholy, Ana headed to the kitchen on the ground floor.

Her movents were thodical as she began preparing breakfast, slicing bread and cracking eggs with precision. She knew her mistress and the others would be returning soon.

They would need a hot al before sitting down to discuss their next move—whether to raid the Strigoi lair or devise another strategy to retrieve the kidnapped alchemist.

As she worked, her sharp ears picked up the faint sound of voices outside. A mont later, the bickering beca clearer, accompanied by the heavy clink of boots against the stone floors.

Ana sighed, already recognizing the familiar tones of Argint and Elizalina. It seed the two were back, and from the tension in their voices, their usual squabbling hadn't eased during their mission.

Soon after, she heard low groans, likely from the prisoners they'd brought back. The sounds grew fainter as Argint and Elizalina moved deeper into the mansion, presumably taking the prisoners to the dungeon. Ana didn't bother investigating; she trusted they had everything under control. Instead, she continued with breakfast, her focus shifting to the conversation that would inevitably follow once everyone had gathered.

---

Ana worked silently in the kitchen, her hands moving with the precision of soone accustod to routine. The sizzle of eggs and the rich aroma of brewed coffee filled the room, but her mind was elsewhere. The mansion felt different—empty, cold, and unnervingly quiet without Alicarde. She didn't like it, though she'd never admit as much aloud.

As she placed the last plate on the countertop, the sound of a car pulling into the driveway broke her thoughts. Wiping her hands on a towel, she made her way to the entrance. The icy morning air greeted her as she stepped outside, her breath visible in the chill.

The sleek black car stopped, and Ana moved to open the back door. Bowing her head respectfully, she stepped aside as Carrisa erged.

The mistress of the house carried herself with her usual elegance, though there was an air of fatigue about her this morning. She didn't speak, not even acknowledging Ana's presence. Her focus was sharp, her gaze distant.

As the car drove off, Ana caught sight of the driver, the esper nad Chris. His expression was grim, matching the atmosphere surrounding Carrisa.

Carrisa entered the mansion with Ana trailing behind her like a shadow. She remained silent as she walked through the foyer, her heels clicking against the polished floor. When they reached the elevator, she paused, her eyes drifting toward the living room.

Her frown deepened, and she stood still for a mont, as if lost in thought.

Ana glanced at her mistress, observing the brief mont of vulnerability.

'It seems I'm not the only one who misses Ali,' she thought, but she kept the observation to herself.

After a few seconds, Carrisa straightened her posture and stepped into the elevator without a word. The doors slid shut, leaving Ana standing alone.

Shaking off the lingering sense of lancholy, Ana returned to the kitchen. She had much to do before the others gathered for breakfast.

---

Thirty minutes later, the dining table was perfectly arranged, every plate and utensil ticulously placed. Ana stood off to the side, her hands clasped in front of her as she waited.

Carrisa sat at the head of the table, her regal presence commanding attention even in silence. On her right was Argint, her arms crossed as she glared at the woman across from her. Elizalina, sitting to Carrisa's left, maintained a calm deanor, though her subtle smirks and occasional glances toward Argint hinted at her amusent.

The tension between the two was palpable, but for now, they refrained from sparring. Without Alicarde's boisterous energy to liven the table, breakfast felt dull and strained. Ana found the silence uncomfortable. Deciding to break it, she began to speak.

"I ca across so important information during my visit to the library," she said, her voice steady.

All eyes turned to her, the air thick with curiosity. Ana recounted her findings about the Demon of Noon, explaining the records she'd uncovered and the witches' grim docuntation. She described the distorted magical seal that bore an unsettling resemblance to the one Alicarde had shown them before.

As she spoke, the others grew more attentive. By the ti she finished, their als had been forgotten.

Argint sighed heavily, leaning back in her chair.

"Where the hell is that bastard Alicarde when we need him? We're a bit short-handed right now."

Elizalina raised an eyebrow, her voice calm and refined.

"If you miss him, Argint, you might as well say so. There is no need to act coy about it."

Argint turned to her sharply, her silver eyes narrowing.

"One more word, and you're dead."

Elizalina smiled faintly, her tone unbothered.

"Word."

The atmosphere shifted as Argint's eyes glowed silver, her claws extending slightly. Rising from her seat, she glared at Elizalina.

"That's it. You're dead, you—"

"That is enough, ladies," Carrisa said, her tone firm and unyielding.

Both won froze, the weight of her authority silencing them imdiately. Though they relented, their mutual animosity lingered in their glares.

Elizalina turned her attention back to Ana, her voice now composed and formal.

"How did you co upon this information?"

Ana inclined her head slightly.

"Ali called ."

Carrisa showed no reaction, already aware of this fact. Argint and Elizalina, however, leaned forward, their interest piqued.

"Really?" Argint said, a small smile forming.

"Where is he? And why has his phone been unavailable?"

Elizalina remained silent, her expression composed, but the question lingered in her eyes.

"He didn't say," Ana replied.

"But he ntioned that his phone was destroyed and that he is being hunted by a coven of witches."

Elizalina allowed herself a faint smile.

"That sounds about right for him. A trouble magnet through and through."

Carrisa finally set down her fork, her expression grave.

"That is enough discussion about Alicarde for now. Let us focus on the more pressing matters at hand."

The others nodded, their attention shifting to the plans before them.

---

The discussion turned to their strategy against the Strigoi Zagarath. Ana laid out the details, while Argint and Elizalina contributed their thoughts. The objective was twofold: to gain control of the Nexus and to dismantle Zagarath's operations before he could unleash the Demon of Noon.

Carrisa listened intently, her sharp mind piecing together the information.

"We will wait until nightfall," she decided. "By then, the Nightshades will have arrived. We can begin our assault with their support."

The others agreed, the tension in the room gradually giving way to determination. The weight of their mission lood over them, but they were resolute.
