Cassandra steadied herself, mind racing. She knew this would be a battle of patience and wits. She had to uncover the weakness of Malefica's mysterious spell or, if necessary, force one to appear.

"Wind, beco my steps…" she whispered, invoking the first elent.

The wind gathered around her, swirling in fervent gusts. It wrapped itself around her legs like invisible wings, lifting her slightly. With each breath, the wind seed to pulse in rhythm with her heartbeat, surging in strength until it felt as though she was an extension of the very air itself.

The ground beneath her feet blurred as the wind hoisted her up, leaving only faint impressions on the snow where she'd been standing.

"Earth, beco my strength…"

The ground beneath her shifted, resonating with the chant. Yellow light poured from beneath the snow, illuminating the earth and flowing upward like molten tal, enveloping her in a radiant glow.

It fortified her, hardening her resolve and grounding her. She could feel the strength of ancient stone, unyielding and vast, now coursing through her veins.

"Water, beco my vessel…"

The surrounding snow quivered, as if acknowledging her call. One by one, the white crystals lted, droplets rising into the air to surround her.

They hovered, forming a floating veil that wrapped around her in a glistening shield of liquid armor. Each droplet sparkled, catching the faint light, shimring as if forming an ethereal gown around her, shifting and undulating like the tides themselves.

"Fire, beco my blade…"

From her outstretched fingers, sparks ignited, swiftly transforming into streams of fire that coiled around her arms, hot and fierce.

The flas hardened, shaping themselves into weapons—an array of flaming swords, shields, and lances that circled her in a fiery halo. She seized a shield of flas with one hand, feeling its warmth radiate through her. Her dagger absorbed the fla, stretching and transforming into a blazing sword that humd with raw, untad energy.

As Cassandra completed her spell, she stood in the center of the elents—each one lending her their strength and protection.

The scene was srizing, as if the elents themselves had bowed to her command, creating a living portrait of elental fury and grace. She had beco the embodint of earth, water, wind, and fire, an unstoppable force.

And the last elent was spirit, she called out to it.

"Spirit guide my path…."

Malefica observed her calmly, her bare feet rooted on the ground.

Unfazed, she muttered,

"ntal Acceleration."

The world around her slowed. She watched every flicker of fla, every ripple of water, and every gust of wind with perfect clarity, as if ti itself had bent to her will.

Cassandra's movent beca a blur, her wind-borne speed tearing through the snow-covered landscape with a deafening sonic boom. Trees splintered, and the earth cracked beneath her forceful stride as she barreled toward Malefica, the air around them vibrating from the sheer velocity of her advance.

But Malefica was prepared. As Cassandra closed in, Malefica raised her hand.

"Gate, open."

In an instant, the air between them shimred, and countless gates appeared, rippling like the surface of a disturbed pond. Cassandra was pulled into one, only to erge from another far off, disoriented and off-balance. She staggered, nearly falling as she tried to process what had just happened.

"What the…"

Malefica's lips curled in a smile.

"Don't be so shocked. This is spatial magic. Within this space, I've created countless gates that continually shift coordinates. You cannot predict where each one will take you."

Cassandra's eyes narrowed as she took in her surroundings. The shifting portals ford a labyrinth around her, making it impossible to advance without falling through another gate. It was an infuriating trap, and the fact that Malefica wielded it with such nonchalance only added to her frustration.

"That spell of yours boosts your physical and combat capabilities. Quite impressive, really," Malefica said with a hint of admiration.

"Using the five elents like that… you've grown up. I'm impressed."

Cassandra grit her teeth.

"Don't condescend to . You haven't won yet."

"Is that so?" Malefica's smile didn't waver. She brushed her hair back, her expression as cold and composed as ever.

"I have trapped Cassandra within a maze of spatial gates, sparing the village from her destructive power. What a noble deed I have done… I shall now be rewarded threefold."

With those words, Malefica's aura intensified, expanding outward, thick and oppressive.

Cassandra's eyes narrowed.

"Think you've got all figured out, don't you?"

"I do."

Malefica's cool confidence only stoked Cassandra's frustration further. Her tone was too calm, too assured—it grated at her.

"Do you now?" Cassandra's voice held a sharp edge.

"Well, I just cracked your spell."

"Oh?" Malefica raised an eyebrow, intrigued.

"You managed to decipher my gate magic? Impressive."

Cassandra shook her head.

"No, not that. I'm talking about the magic that's letting you bypass your curse. You're using the Wiccan Rule of Three, aren't you?"

For a brief second, Malefica's expression froze, though she quickly masked it with her usual composure.

"That was hardly a secret," she replied smoothly.

"I wasn't trying to hide it… but so what?"

Cassandra grinned, satisfaction gleaming in her eyes.

"You didn't try to hide it because you wanted to overlook it. Leaving your weakness out in the open was a form of misdirection, wasn't it? Making think, 'No, she'd never be that obvious.' But that's exactly what you did. And now, I have you."

A thin smile crept onto Malefica's face, though her eyes remained cold.

"Then do your best, Sandra."

The use of the old nickna was calculated. Cassandra knew it was ant to unnerve her, a subtle reminder of their past, a psychological tactic to shake her confidence. But she wouldn't be deterred this ti.

Refocusing, she took a steadying breath, letting the elents around her amplify her resolve. The water droplets sharpened into icy shards, the flas around her blade surged with renewed ferocity, and the wind wrapped tighter around her, preparing her for the final clash.

'She wants to doubt myself,' Cassandra thought, gripping her fiery sword tighter. Enjoy more content from empire
