Those who could board such a spaceship were either from imnsely rich families or had profoundly influential backgrounds; anyone who was either was worth making connections with.

The young master had decided to take a trip on the relatively small Cloud Sail ship precisely in order to network with others along the way.

"Yes, you too?" Lin Xin said with a smile.

"Indeed, both my sister and I are heading to the Soul Sect’s Thousand Leaves Lake for our family patriarch’s birthday celebration. We heard that a rare treasure descended to the lake and the power that seized it has opened an auction there. We’re aiming for that treasure as well." The young master explained with a smile.

"You’re also going to the Thousand Leaves Lake, huh?" The girl with a barbaric wilds temperant sitting next to Lin Xin interjected, her face showing interest.

"I also heard about the treasure auction and just want to join in the excitent. My family has sent people for pickup there, so I also consider it a way to unwind a bit."

"This auction at the Thousand Leaves Lake has been widely publicized. It’s said that not just us outsiders are the auction-goers, but many wealthy magnates from the Soul Sect itself have sent their younger generations. It’s indeed an excellent opportunity to broaden one’s horizons." The young master laughed, "I thought to myself, it’s fine even if we don’t win anything at the auction; after all, it’s a good experience for my sister."

Seeing how caring he was to his sister, the barbaric wilds girl suddenly beca interested, and the two of them got engrossed in conversation.

Lin Xin just sat in his seat with a smile, watching them chat animatedly.

Through the small talk, he’d learned the siblings’ nas.

Bai Shou and Bai Qingjue were direct descendants of the Bai Family, though their exact standing was unclear.

But judging from their conversation, it was presud their status was not low.

The Bai Family was also a major clan within the Heavenly Alliance, mainly dealing in the business of mining and gem processing.

As soon as the siblings revealed their identities, the girl from the barbaric wilds beca sowhat moved, and her attitude toward young master Bai Shou beca even warr.

The girl also revealed her own background.

A mber of a prominent family from the main city of the Beast Divine Temple.

The Beast Divine Temple was a dominant power that occupied a minor world, with the main city naturally being very strong. However, it was still sowhat inferior to the Bai Family.

As they started conversing, the rest of the passengers also began to form connections.

Among them, there was even a Fourth Rank cultivator from the Four Seas Fairy Mountains, a Nascent Soul Daoist Master as regular folks would call them.

The group gradually moved on to topics on which they shared more common ground, drawing closer and forming smaller groups.

The Bai siblings, the cultivator from the Four Seas Fairy Mountains, and two old n who claid to be from a branch temple of the Soul Sect found their discussion topics were not sothing ordinary folks could chi in on.

Bai Shou tried to engage Lin Xin in conversation several tis, but to no avail; judging by appearance and insight, he could not discern anything significant.

Eventually, he stood up and joined the other passengers seated behind him to discuss the current situation.

The rest, including the girl from the Beast Divine Temple, also stood up and gathered around to listen. For them, such a higher-tier circle could provide a lot of extrely useful information even through casual chats.

Bai Qingjue, with her cool and detached nature, just sat in her original seat and listened without speaking.

Her long, cold grey hair draped over her shoulders, her expression serene, and her looks beautiful with an excellent temperant. Her figure was ********, even seated, one could notice the heart-stirring curves.

She wore a white one-piece skirt that accentuated the curves of her waist and hips perfectly. A pair of jade legs were wrapped in light purple stockings that extended up beneath the skirt, covering everything tightly without revealing a hint of skin. Yet, one could tell from her exposed arms that her skin was of exquisite quality.

But in the cultivation world, handso n and beautiful won were not scarce, and among the young people inside the cabin, the other six or seven females each had their own charm.

And in social interactions, they were much more proactive than Bai Qingjue, quickly attracting all the attention of the other passengers and gathering around the circle ford by Bai Shou and others.

For a while, there were only a few people left sitting in the cabin, including Bai Qingjue and Lin Xin.

The spaceship would occasionally stop, then new people would board. But they too would soon join the other circles.

Only Lin Xin and Bai Qingjue remained seated.

Lin Xin was resting with his eyes closed, occasionally responding with a smile if soone spoke to him. Seeing that he was not eager to talk, they would not waste their ti and directly approached others instead.

Those who could board this ship, touted as absolutely safe, were each either wealthy or noble. This was the pri ti for networking, and they could not afford to waste a mont.

Ti slowly passed by.

After more than a day, having eaten, Bai Qingjue still occasionally chatted with her brother Bai Shou, who watched over her.

But Lin Xin had already been isolated with no one greeting him.

It was not that he was disinterested in networking, but rather that the connections of these passengers seed too frail. Moreover, he believed that power was the fundantal premise of everything.

Connections and such external factors could amplify the function of power, but ultimately it was not the path he preferred.

In truth, Lin Xin’s nature was similarly cool and detached.

When it ca to socializing, he was often passive.

Snap.

A white piece was placed down, and an old man from the Soul Sect smiled smugly.

Bai Shou across from him was sweating on his forehead, pondering deeply.

The surrounding people were all offering complints.

Bai Qingjue watched the chess ga for a while before looking around the entire cabin. Almost everyone had their own small circle of conversation, and many had initially achieved the goal of exchanging contacts, their faces showing satisfied smiles.

Almost no one was idle, except for one person.

Bai Qingjue frowned slightly and returned to her seat, where the youth dressed in black sat opposite her, still closing his eyes, completely motionless.

No one greeted him, so he simply closed his eyes to rest.

"Perhaps his family never told him, the greatest use of taking this spaceship is to make connections,"

Bai Qingjue felt sowhat regretful as a thought flashed through her mind, looking at the youth in black. The cost of taking this trip was extrely expensive; if it were wasted just like that, it would be a real pity.

Closing her eyes again to resu her cultivation practice, by the ti Lin Xin opened his eyes,

it was bright outside the window, and the spaceship was passing by a huge, burning golden fireball.

That was unmistakably a terrifying, imnsely large constellation.

"Why don’t you join their conversation?"

A faint female voice ca from across Lin Xin.

He looked up following the voice and saw Bai Qingjue looking at him with a hint of curiosity.

"There are elites from all over here, making a few connections could be of great help to your future," Bai Qingjue said quietly.

Even though Taoist arts couldn’t be used, the simple technique of vibrating air to transmit focused sound still worked.

"I don’t like these things," Lin Xin smiled and replied.

"Humans do not have the privilege to be capricious," Bai Qingjue continued.

"Perhaps,"

The two had no more topics to discuss.

Seeing as the other person was unwilling, Bai Qingjue did not say more. Like herself, she did not want to make herself known, but, helplessly...

"Perhaps it’s because of low origins, not being able to join in the conversation, that one can’t squeeze into these circles," she guessed inwardly as she looked once more at Lin Xin, who was isolated, feeling a subtle sense of pity.

Because one couldn’t squeeze into the circle, therefore one would feign indifference; she had seen too many such people and examples.

She turned her head to look outside the window. On the edge of the constellation, nurous cultivators stood on top of flying swords magic artifacts, colorful and scattered like dots, constantly condensing and collecting Sun True Fire into fire flasks.

It was a hard job that only required the constant use of spiritual power to collect and refine; the fire flasks could be sold to the Heavenly Alliance Army, and the profits were decent.

Such cultivators were known as prospectors; not only did they collect true fire, but they also mined and gathered various dangerous and rare treasures.

They faced high risks, but they were well-compensated. Thus, many loose cultivators and small sects often took on such jobs.

"There are even lower-class species," the Beast Divine Temple’s girl, who had sat down at so point, laughed and pointed casually.

"Qingjue, look, over there is a transport carriage."

Bai Qingjue looked in the direction she pointed, only to see a cow with three heads pulling a long chain of imnse links, connecting a series of wooden carriages that resembled train cars.

Through the windows of the carriages, one could see they were cramd full of people.

These people were all different from the average person: so had green or yellow skin, others had very pointed ears, and still others had elongated heads.

"How co there are mbers of our human race inside?" Bai Qingjue saw an entire section of the carriage filled with ordinary humans and frowned imdiately.

"These lower-class species are those who dared to resist the might of the Heavenly Alliance Army and were demoted to slaves, including quite a few from the human race. It’s quite normal," the Beast Divine Temple girl said with a laugh.

"Is that so?" Bai Qingjue was sowhat startled.

"That’s how it is. Our place has a lot of such slaves, everywhere you look. It’s actually scarce here," the girl from the Beast Divine Temple spoke nonchalantly, evidently accustod to the sight.

"This is war, cruel by nature," Lin Xin comnted indifferently from the side.

"Do you think so too?" Bai Qingjue asked, looking towards him.

"It’s not what I think; this is simply the truth," Lin Xin turned his gaze away, "The Heavenly Alliance is imnse; to contend with the void demon spirits, everything must yield to its needs. So minor worlds fail to see the reality of the situation and naturally beco examples to warn others. There is nothing surprising about that."

"It just seems a bit too cruel," Bai Qingjue shook her head. "But..." She looked up at Lin Xin. Given his cold and harsh knowledge of the world, he likely experienced many extrely painful events in the past.

Connecting this to her own journey, Bai Qingjue felt commiseration in her heart, another unfortunate person indeed.

"Your understanding of the situation is comndable,"

She pondered for a mont, "If you wish, you can co to the Bai Family and participate in the selection for strategists."

The Bai Family was superior to over seventy percent of the families and magnates within the Heavenly Alliance, and regular small families could not even find a way to affiliate with them; her offer was motivated by her sentints.

In this cabin, more than half of the people, including the girl from the Beast Divine Temple, were enthusiastic simply because they wanted to form a relationship with the Bai Family.

As for strategists, although the position was very low, the lowest rank, it was still considered making a connection with the Bai Family. It was sothing others would covet.

Lin Xin just chuckled without a word, shaking his head silently.

He simply closed his eyes and began to organize the attributes he had recently acquired.

Seeing his reaction, Bai Qingjue was also taken aback; she had kindly offered him an opportunity, but he did not seem to cherish it at all.

Annoyed, she turned her head away, not wanting to bother with him any longer.

The Beast Divine Temple girl snorted coldly, stood up, and went sowhere else to chat.
