No one hawked their wares; everyone remained silent.
The banners of the stalls fluttered slightly in the wind, the Ancient Spirit Script written upon them occasionally catching the eye.
’Tonight Fruit,’ ’Nine Serpents Fruit,’ ’Black Locust Flower,’ ’Golden Rate dicine Brew,’ ’Seeking Immortal Tree Spirit Leaf’...
Lin Xin could only gaze at the myriad of items he had never heard of before, overwhelming him and his companions.
’I must say, these servants have no business acun. A little promotion could perhaps significantly boost sales for many items. rely laying them out haphazardly with a price and na, who knows the quality of your products?’
Lin Xin shook his head slightly to himself.
Only the few who wrote a few more marketing words on their banners appeared sowhat better at promotion.
In this world, where strength and cultivation reign supre, business has always been the last resort for the lower classes.
Without powerful protection, even the wealthiest are rely fattened lambs.
Here, fair trade is not encouraged.
The strong should enjoy privileges and receive preferential treatnt in trade, a consensus naturally shared by everyone.
So, it is only natural that business does not flourish.
Past this avenue, white residential houses gradually began to appear on both sides.
The houses slowly multiplied until they were densely packed together, forming a continuous expanse, and at last, the gates of a small city ca into view.
A square jade stone gate, resembling an archway, stood symbolically on the avenue.
To the right, a large stone stele more than a ter tall was slanted into the ground.
It was engraved with: White Jade City on the ground, Cloud Picking Land in the sky.
Lin Xin paused his steps, lifting his gaze to the city gate.
Sure enough, a plaque hung above it—White Jade City. The three large characters danced with life, shining with a faint green luminescence.
He also noticed that people from within the city would rush out intermittently, walk up to that large stone stele, press their hands against it, and then toss sothing onto it.
Following that, the persons who had tossed sothing would slowly fade and disappear.
He narrowed his eyes, recalling the brief introduction from the Jade Talisman.
He led Lin Youke and the other three towards the large stone stele.
"Welco to White Jade City."
As he approached, he saw a blood-red maw appear on the back of the stele.
The three-ter-wide, five-ter-tall white stele suddenly displayed a mouth over a ter wide, and it even spoke on its own.
Lin Xin was startled for a mont and stood still.
"Give ten Jade Baits, and I can take you to any place within the city you wish to go," said the maw to Lin Xin, though its Ancient Spirit Script had a distinct shrill, awkward quality about it, like a clown’s.
"Will Spirit Jade do?"
Lin Xin had no Jade Baits, so he retrieved a piece of Spirit Jade and asked.
"Two pieces will be enough," the maw replied.
Lin Xin took out another piece of Spirit Jade, combined them, and, mimicking what he had seen others do, tossed them directly into the maw.
The blood-red mouth snapped shut and then chewed a few tis.
Suddenly, Lin Xin felt as though his body was lifted by sothing.
"Where would you like to go?" the maw asked.
"The Enlightennt Tower."
Hum!
In an instant, his vision shifted completely.
When he regained his senses, Lin Xin found himself and the four servants already standing in front of a tall, white, pointed tower.
Looking up, he saw the tower surrounded by strands of green light, with a large ’Dao’ character rising and falling within the halo.
Occasional figures appeared beside him, then quickly ran toward the tower’s entrance.
"Young Master... That was the Teleportation Stele; we’re now in front of the Enlightennt Tower," Chen Jingsi whispered softly. "We can’t enter; we have to go to the lecture hall specifically for servants, so we must part ways here."
It was clear she had already gotten a handle on most of the miscellaneous details.
"Okay. You go ahead; I’ll enter on my own," Lin Xin nodded. "Also, try to understand the general rules here, and be careful not to cause trouble."
"Yes," Lin Youke and the others quickly responded.
Ignoring them, Lin Xin walked boldly into the tower’s gate.
Inside was a long rectangular hall with doors on both sides, three of which were open with people constantly coming and going.
Lin Xin glanced at the people inside the hall; they were all wearing green robes with green belts, all official disciples.
"Daoist friend, our core lecture hall is on the second floor," said a blonde youth passing by with a smile.
Lin Xin glanced at him; he was also dressed in a green robe with a white belt, evidently another core disciple.
"I’m new here, not quite familiar with the place, please excuse ," Lin Xin smiled back, politely.
"Mind if we go together?" the blonde youth offered warmly. "Actually, I’m also new, but since my older brother once left from here, I’m more familiar than most people. Oh, by the way, let introduce myself. I am Yuan Xi, from the Spirit Communication Realm."
"Yuan Xi, you may call Lin Xin, from the Mortal Realm," Lin Xin replied politely as well.
The two of them accompanied each other, providing mutual support as they ascended the stairs to the second floor, passing through a barrier layer as thin as a mbrane of water.
Suddenly, the environnt around them shifted, and the two directly found themselves in a room resembling a classroom.
There were spacious openings of white light on both sides, offering views of the scenery outside the tower, with a circular stone platform at the very front.
Underneath was a square formation of rosewood tables and chairs, densely and neatly arranged.
When the two entered the room, many people were already there. n and won, all dressed in green robes with white belts, pureblood core disciples with strong auras.
With a quick glance, Lin Xin noticed that over twenty people emitted the aura fluctuations of the Human Immortal level, and because they lacked a Cultivation Realm, they neither knew nor were able to conceal their auras.
Sitting in this lecture room, they shone like torches in the night, distinctly visible.
However, not everyone here was from the pure Human Race.
At a glance, he saw several individuals from the Human Race with horns on their heads, and about seven or eight with only one eye.
There were also those with four arms, and so whose heads were flat.
He even noticed mbers of the Long Ear tribe, similar to those he had seen in the Underworld with earlobes that dangled to their shoulders.
"Yuan Xi, brother! Good to see you unhard!"
Just as they entered, two one-eyed persons warmly approached them.
"Brother Shan Yi, Brother Guang Wen, since we parted yesterday, I actually arranged for two sedans. After the lecture today, will you still go?"
Yuan Xi moved forward with familiarity, embracing them one at a ti, seemingly according to the etiquette of their tribe.
"Go! Why wouldn’t we?" The two patted their chests boldly. "That you didn’t get knocked down drinking yesterday was just your luck!"
"Then I will find my own seat," Lin Xin politely excused himself, noticing that the two showed no intention of acquainting themselves with him, and proactively separated from Yuan Xi.
Yuan Xi had invited him to join them for drinks, but he had tactfully declined.
Manipulating the Jade Talisman in his hand, Lin Xin quickly spotted a table and chair that lit up with a faint green Spiritual Light, visible only to himself.
He walked straight over, arranged the paper and writing materials he had prepared, and placed them neatly.
Upon taking a seat, Lin Xin finally had the leisure to observe the lecture room.
The lowest present were of the True Monarch level, with most emitting the aura of Human Immortals. Here, his Fifth Rank pureblood made him no different from an ordinary person.
Even the person who had entered the room with him was now subtly surging with power, releasing a Human Immortal aura.
However, unlike him, these so-called Human Immortals had stable yet chaotic aura fluctuations, tangled like balls of wool, and they had trouble controlling their own aura fluctuation, which could easily leak out if not careful.
Fortunately, everyone here was a powerful pureblood, and such minute fluctuations of aura posed no intrusion or bother.
After observing for a while, slowly erging onto the circular platform above was an elder in a green robe with a silver line embroidered on the chest.
The elder sat cross-legged and coughed twice.
Strangely, as he coughed, all the purebloods in the lecture hall gradually quieted down.
It wasn’t that they stopped talking, but a trendously forceful, mountain-like heavy pressure enveloped the space above the lecture hall, suppressing and obstructing all sound.
"Silver line! To think that the first class would be personally taught by an Earth Immortal, tsk tsk..."
The man seated in front of Lin Xin couldn’t help but whisper softly.
An Earth Immortal was teaching from the very beginning.
Lin Xin was also inwardly shaken.
"Cough, cough... My dear students, we shall now officially begin our lecture," the elder spoke in a low, indifferent voice.
"My na is Dao Shui, and you may address as Elder Dao Shui."
The murmurs below indicated that this na seed to carry so renown.
The elder remained composed, his eyes slightly closed.
"Today we will discuss the teachings of the enlightennt Taoist Arts and how to use the Heavenly Evolution Tower.
Although all of you here are Fifth Rank purebloods, most have not mastered a primary Cultivation Technique. Ordinary techniques are useless if cultivated and might even affect the purity of the bloodline. Higher-level techniques must be very compatible, or else it will be a waste of ti and lead to nothing.
He spoke directly to the concerns of everyone present.
"All of you here have been selected out of hundreds, even thousands of worlds, from countless prodigies, you are the absolute elite. Because of your pureblood, you are strong, naturally at the level of Human Immortals. But at the sa ti, because of your pureblood,
you are also weak. It will be exceedingly difficult to advance further in the future."
He paused for a mont.
"Therefore, catering to your special circumstances, I will first impart the basic Taoist Arts here, starting with the Green Yuan Decision of my Green Lake Mountain within the Qing Shan Realm. After that, I’ll explain so of the difficulties and problems you might encounter in the process of your cultivation practice. Then we will cover so regulations, taboos, and thods for using the Heavenly Evolution Tower.
Only by combining this with observing the Heavenly Evolution Tower and continuously comprehending the natural cosmic changes can you gradually find the point where you can evolve your pureblood to harmonize with the Green Yuan Decision."
Following that, Elder Dao Shui began to recite the chant of the Green Yuan Decision in detail.
Lin Xin picked up his paper and pen to record everything ticulously.
The Green Yuan Decision, also known as the Thousand Mountains Transform to Qing Dual Decision,
is the most fundantal Taoist scripture in both the Qing Shan Realm and Green Lake Mountain, starting from the very basis of Qi Cultivation, proceeding to Foundation Establishnt, Golden Core, Yuan Jing, stepping into the True Monarch level, advancing to the Polar Region, and then to the Perfection of Human Immortal.
This is the Cultivation Technique of the Human Immortal phase.
Elder Dao Shui recited it in one breath, not using actual speech but a kind of vibrational sound. rely coming into contact with this vibration filled one with a wealth of information instantly.
Lin Xin focused his entire spirit, and before he knew it, when he erged from his ditative state, the lecture had ended.
Elder Dao Shui had already left.
