The gray mountains stretched and undulated, faint white mist wafting through them.

At the mountainside, two white dots were moving rapidly, continually heading upwards from the middle part of the range.

Chi!

Suddenly, from the mountains below, within the city, a dazzling white light exploded.

"What’s going on?"

Shu Luoyi abruptly stopped and looked back.

Yu Chang, his forehead slick with sweat, quickly stopped and looked back as well, gazing downwards from the midsection of the mountain only to see an oval white light, bright as white jade, suddenly illuminate near a city wall at the edge of Peacock City.

The halo persisted for several seconds before slowly fading away.

"I don’t know... But that light looks a bit like our Sect’s Communication Talisman exploding..." he replied softly. "But the power... seems a bit too large, doesn’t it?"

"We must pursue the wooden donkey!" Shu Luoyi furrowed his brow, turned around, and continued hurrying forward, with Yu Chang following at the sa ti.

They hadn’t gone far, perhaps just over ten minutes, when a piercing scream ca from behind them.

Whoosh...!

A Ghost Garnt was suddenly blown into the air, then hissed as it spontaneously combusted into ash.

At the sa ti, a charred figure desperately shot past them, so quickly and indistinctly that it was impossible to see clearly. It flashed by at an astonishing speed.

"You still want to run!"

A cold male voice ca from behind them.

Chi, an invisible and transparent air current shot forth and struck the charred figure, causing plus of white smoke to hiss from its form.

"Ah!" The charred figure scread in agony, rolling several tis on the ground, barely able to rise.

It was then that Shu Luoyi and Yu Chang turned around and saw the person coming from behind, it was surprisingly Lin Xin.

Lin Xin was clad in soot-blackened robes, tattered as if he had survived a huge explosion. His features were stern and his complexion sowhat pale.

The sword box he carried on his back was open, its lid missing, housing only two swords within.

After a glance at Shu Luoyi and Yu Chang in front of him, Lin Xin narrowed his eyes and, without a word, charged towards the wooden donkey rolling on the ground.

He had to get his hands on the Mystical Human-faced Fruit from the wooden donkey first!

In a few strides, he was upon the wooden donkey and violently thrust his sword towards the opponent’s chest where the Human-faced Fruit was.

Clang!!

A Sword Shadow abruptly swept from his side, just in ti to block his Solar Yang Talisman Sword. As the dual swords collided, a crisp and lodious sound rang out, blocking the motion of his sword tip.

"The Human-faced Fruit is mine!" Shu Luoyi lunged from his side, reaching out to grab the chest of the wooden donkey.

"Shu Luoyi!!" Lin Xin felt a naless rage surge in his heart, having exposed so many of his trump cards and finally utilizing the Luminous Talisman Sword. Even with protective asures, he had been severely wounded by the recoil. And now here was Shu Luoyi, trying to steal his prize without a second word?

The Solar Yang Talisman Sword surged into action, and Lin Xin’s blade made a vertical slash forward, unleashing several transparent Inner Qi Flows from three directions, striking harshly at Shu Luoyi.

Feeling the danger behind her, Shu Luoyi continued to reach for the wooden donkey with one hand, while with the other, she drew the Green Jade Dagger and stabbed backwards.

Suddenly, three green streaks cut through the air, scattering the three hot Inner Qi Flows into nothingness.

"Hahaha!" But the wooden donkey suddenly let out a sinister laugh, its body darting forward to dodge Shu Luoyi’s grasp.

Both Shu Luoyi and Lin Xin were stunned, realizing they had been played by this person. They were both furious, and quickly drew their swords to pursue.

"Yu Chang! Chase the Human-faced Fruit!"

Yu Chang, who had been watching all of this with wide eyes, snapped to his senses at the sound of Shu Luoyi’s voice and followed after them with his sword.

Lin Xin snorted coldly and his form sped forward in pursuit. He hadn’t practiced Qinggong but relied purely on the explosive power of his Inner Strength to leap forward. While he was fast, this thod of movent was cumberso and far less agile compared to the dexterity of the wooden donkey and Shu Luoyi. However, the wooden donkey was injured and did not move quickly, and Shu Luoyi seed to be quite injured as well, barely keeping up.

He scanned his surroundings. The four of them had reached a dense forest, with an apparent cliff hidden in front.

To the left, there was a solid mountain wall, to the right, an uphill slope, and only this path led onwards.

That is to say, there was only one way to go. But the wooden donkey, in its panic, hadn’t noticed this fact.

A thought struck Lin Xin, and he swung his Solar Yang Talisman Sword, sending out several bursts of Flaless Swordsmanship flows, aid directly at the only path leading upwards.

As expected, the wooden donkey rushed forward only to realize its mistake and had no choice but to head up.

Bang!

A series of hot flows struck it hard in the back.

The creature scread in agony and was smashed to the ground motionless, seemingly struck most severely this ti, thoroughly incapacitated.

Lin Xin didn’t think twice and charged forward.

"The Human-faced Fruit is mine!"

Shu Luoyi caught up again from behind and thrust a sword at Lin Xin’s back.

"Go to hell!" Her eyes were bloodshot, still sowhat crazed.

"Get lost!" Lin Xin had no ti for her, countering with a Return to Origin true Yang strike. The Solar Yang Talisman Sword barely blocked it when, with a snap, it broke in half.

The Solar Yang Talisman Sword had actually broken?!

Hiss!

The blade of Shu Luoyi’s longsword sliced directly toward him, startling even Shu Luoyi herself.

Lin Xin’s heart was struck with terror, but it was too late to dodge. He could only just manage to step forward and avoid the back of his head. Yet, he still got slashed across the back, and imdiately felt an intense burning sensation as a sticky liquid quickly seeped through his clothes.

Looking at Mu Luosi at this mont, the guy actually started to move again. Using the last of his strength, he rolled downwards, tumbling off the cliff edge.

Lin Xin ignored his wound, hastily gathered his Inner Qi, barely managed to stop the bleeding, and rushed to the edge of the cliff to look down.

Below him was a mountain road about ten ters away. Mu Luosi had already rolled down. He tumbled along the nearly eighty-degree slope of the cliff, heavily crashing onto the grey-white road.

The clouds dispersed, and the harsh sunlight now poured down, causing Mu Luosi’s blood-drenched body to reflect so light. The burns he had suffered from an explosion earlier also split open a lot during his desperate escape.

This guy was ruthless enough; during his tumble, a sharp branch pierced into his thigh, completely impaling his leg, yet he still desperately got up, barely managing to run up the mountain road. While running away, he glanced back at Lin Xin, and the venomous spite in his eyes was chilling.

Knowing that he had now made a formidable enemy, and that if he did not kill him, he himself might truly be in trouble in the future.

Lin Xin simply slid down the cliff as well.

In the midst of the hissing friction sound, Shu Luoyi and Yu Chang followed down after him, both wearing Luoyi and thus much more composed with their Qinggong skills.

"Get out of my way!"

Shu Luoyi’s eyes were bloodshot, resenting Lin Xin for being in her way and stabbed at him again from behind.

Lin Xin managed to block the sword with a normal longsword, but the impact made him lose his balance and he rolled downward.

He was furious. This Shu Luoyi seed to have gone insane, attacking him ti and again.

"Shu Luoyi! You’re courting death!!"

He landed on the road in an awkward heap, quickly standing up; the wound on his back was torn open again, and his clothes were stained red with blood. The intensely hot pain ca at him in waves.

Without thinking, he pounced toward Shu Luoyi, who had just landed.

The Flaless Swordsmanship unfolded, with several groups of Inner Qi Flow swirling toward her. The blade seed to burn red-hot, surrounded by scorching air currents as it slashed at her.

Yuan Yang Qi Sword!

The ultimate move of Flaless Swordsmanship! It could unleash the full power of Flaless Swordsmanship in the shortest amount of ti. If he still had the Solar Yang Talisman Sword, this move would be a threat even to a Fifth Layer "Return to Origin" expert.

But without the Solar Yang Talisman Sword to assist him, its power was greatly reduced, barely reaching the strength of the Fourth Layer. Nevertheless, it’s not sothing that soone with ordinary Second or Third Layer cultivation like Shu Luoyi could withstand.

Just having slid down, unsteady, Shu Luoyi was unsteady. She couldn’t react in ti and could only roll awkwardly to the right.

Bang!

Lin Xin was a bit slow due to his injury, and his attack missed, striking the air. Yuan Yang Qi Sword fiercely slashed into the stone wall.

A bunch of debris and mud suddenly fell down.

The swirling Inner Qi Flow was also negated by the Green Jade Dagger in Shu Luoyi’s embrace once more. However, the imnse power, like an explosion, blasted Shu Luoyi out, making her roll several tis on the ground before she managed to get up, holding her abdon and vomiting blood, obviously severely injured.

"Stop, Lin Xin!" Yu Chang’s exclamation finally ca through. He landed in between them, imdiately halting any further conflict.

"Keep this up, and don’t think I won’t dare to kill you!" Lin Xin gripped the Luminous Talisman Sword, his gaze coldly fixed on Shu Luoyi.

"Kill ? This da will take you down first!" Shu Luoyi struggled to pull out a piece of snow-white Blood Pattern Talisman Paper, her eyes becoming even more bloodshot.

As soon as the talisman paper was taken out, it emitted a bone-chilling coldness similar to freezing air; just one look was enough to know of its trendous power.

"Hurry up and chase!" Yu Chang quickly diverted their attention.

Watching Mu Luosi quickly getting away in the distance, they hurriedly chased after him, but Yu Chang stuck in between, fearful that they might co to blows again without a word.

Lin Xin also had so wariness against the talisman that Shu Luoyi held in her hand, and it was evident that she too was wary of his daring behavior.

Maintaining a safe distance, they both quickly chased into the pine forest up ahead on the road.

Just upon entering, the three of them felt a sinking feeling in their hearts and slowed their pace.

The severely injured Mu Luosi had sohow stopped, now sitting under the shade of the trees.

To their astonishnt, under the shade there was not just one Mu Luosi, but rather a full three of them.

The three Mu Luosis were very close to each other, almost as if their bodies were pressed together, no, not just pressed together, but their backs were directly fused into one.

From a distance, Lin Xin’s heart turned cold.

He could see that one of the Mu Luosis facing them had a large mouth on his chest, impatiently grabbing the heads of the two beside him and pressing them toward his chest.

The heads of the two Mu Luosis lded like mud, being pressed into his chest and rging into one with him.

Soon, in less than three seconds, the three Mu Luosis fused into one.

The remaining Mu Luosi was unscathed, draped in a grey-black cloak, with its inner side visibly blood-red from the collar.

The bizarre blue-black patterns on his bald head, and his lips red enough to drip blood rendered him terribly abnormal.

"Want the Human Face Fruit? Co and take it... if you have the ability..."

He abruptly opened his cloak, exposing his bare upper body.

There on his chest, surrounding five Human Face Fruits, forming a circle, were like five grey-white faces, embedded right in the middle of his chest.
