Hu.....
Countless swarms of black and red demonic qi began to perate the forest.
The sky had sohow been dyed a bloody red without anyone noticing.
Where An Ying had originally been standing, another figure had now taken her place.
With a soul pearl amulet in his gentle mien, it was none other than Lin Xin who was supposed to be at Yuan Dou Demon Sect.
He did not even glance at the man in black flying up into the sky but instead directed his gaze deep into the forest, towards a different direction.
Nurous white frosts were rapidly spreading from the depths of the dense woods, creeping up along the ground towards him.
This frost was extrely cold; even the hot black and red demonic qi and soul domains covering it could not quench the faint, translucent flas flickering on its surface.
The demonic qi and frost furiously rubbed against each other, resisting the other’s presence.
It was as if the whole world had been split in two in an instant, one side pitch-black and icy, the other searing with black and red heat.
Under the wild winds, Mr. and Mrs. Ji Lu were pushed back again and again, while An Ying stood behind them, her face pale, clutching her own throat.
"Moon Silkworm Demon Sword?" A deep male voice ca from the dense forest. "Do you really think that a re body double can stop us?"
Lin Xin’s eyes were cast down.
"You can try."
As soon as he said this, the depths of the dense forest gradually fell silent.
But the heavy cold that lingered only grew more intense.
Flas co in three categories: human fire, earth fire, and heavenly fire, the latter being the strongest.
Similarly, ice also has three corresponding categories.
These are heavenly, earthly, and human classifications, with a Mysterious Ice List that ranks humans, and at this mont, the ice commanded by the person in the dense forest must be among them.
With one look, Lin Xin recognized that to combat his Qilin Flas, the ice must be one of the top fifty on the Mysterious Ice List.
With his vision, he could easily see, deep in the woods, a man in white shorts and a white shirt, standing far away, silently watching this side.
The coldness was being emitted in waves from him as the center. Just like his Qilin Flas, the opponent’s Mysterious Ice also inherently integrated a soul domain, its power having long since surpassed its original nature.
"Worthy of being the Red Flower Sword Devil; your Qilin Flas must also have reached the level of heavenly fire. Among today’s Fla Masters, you could definitely rank in the top ten," the man in white said, his body shrouded in white chi, strands of coldness leaving his body not more than ten ters before quickly blending into the night and vanishing, yet his power continued to grow, not diminish.
"All this talk over a re body double?"
A woman’s voice ca from the woods, sounding sowhat irritable.
"I’m just feeling sowhat emotional," the man in white sighed, "such a prodigious and stunning talent facing a fall...."
"That’s for their Human Race to worry about. What do you care!"
The woman’s voice interjected again.
"It’s not my concern, but..." Before the man in white could finish, he saw a white streak suddenly flash through the darkness, like a beam of light, shooting straight towards An Ying.
Clang!
Lin Xin blocked the white streak with his sword, and the black-red demonic qi scorched upon it, instantly revealing its true form.
It was none other than a blade of grass that had been frozen into an icicle.
The scorching demonic qi instantly vaporized the icicle along with the grass.
An Ying was startled and took two steps back, but her expression turned cold.
She realized that she had beco a burden to Lin Xin.
"Don’t mind , do what you must!"
Without waiting for Lin Xin to respond, she reached into her sleeve and took out a piece of white, silver-edged talisman paper, unmistakably a high-level Earth Escape Talisman.
She held the talisman paper in her hand, ready to activate it at any mont. She knew that at this point, she had to wait for the opponent to be distracted before finding an opportunity to escape.
Since she was the target, her successful concealnt would an the opponent’s failure, and only then could Lin Xin’s body double fully engage in the attack.
Mr. and Mrs. Ji Lu were also the sa, each holding an Earth Escape Talisman, ready to flee at a mont’s notice.
In a battle of this caliber, even an ordinary True Monarch might not be able to intervene, let alone they were nothing more than ants.
Lin Xin’s expression remained unchanged. He suddenly disappeared in a flash, and when he reappeared, it was in front of the Ji Lu couple, swiftly brandishing two streaks of sword light.
Crack.
It was as if sothing invisible had been shattered, and the ground opened up as if sothing was slowly lting away. A small patch of soil beca damp, releasing bursts of cold air.
But this was imdiately neutralized by Lin Xin’s flas.
"Give up. Without the four Magic Swords you once brandished, without the protective Light Formation of Mystic Heaven Formlessness, without the undying body of your original form, and even the ti to maintain your physique limited to rely one day, we can simply wait for a day to pass before capturing you," the man in white spoke calmly, his eyes gazing at Lin Xin through the white coldness.
"True," Lin Xin nodded. "Then why don’t you wait a day before coming after ?"
The man in white was suddenly at a loss for words.
The battle between coldness and flas intensified ever more fiercely.
An Ying and the other two stood not far behind Lin Xin, daring not to make a move.
Because right now, a figure had also appeared behind them.
Not just behind—figures erged on both their left and right sides, completely surrounding them. And each of these people was indomitable, unafraid of the soul domain’s confrontation of heat and cold, evidently all extraordinary fighters.
"Amitabha."
With a light clink, the person behind held a magic staff adorned with many brass rings that continually chid crisply as it swayed, ringing clear to the heart.
"Is Your Excellency Lin Xin?"
It was an elderly monk in red kasaya, who was now standing with one hand raised, looking over at Lin Xin.
Similarly, two other elderly monks dressed alike stepped out to his left and right. One was tall while the other was thin and gaunt. But like the first, they were both equally aged.
The three ford a triangle around Lin Xin, enclosing him at the center.
The three magic staffs gently swung, producing a resonating tinkle.
"Who are you?" Lin Xin frowned.
"Actually, we also wanted to give up today and co back another day. Unfortunately, the three Holy Monks of the Buddha Domain insisted on this..."
The person in white in front spoke helplessly.
"Buddha Domain..." Lin Xin narrowed his eyes slightly. "I’ve heard that monks are supposed to be rciful. Are they also capable of stooping to such despicable acts as capturing a person’s friends and family to use as threats?"
"All beings suffer, and Buddhism delivers the world. Lin Benefactor’s killing intent is too strong. Worldly desires can be cast aside; why not lay down your butcher’s knife and take refuge in Buddhism to enjoy Ultimate Bliss?"
The monk behind spoke softly.
"How should I address the three Holy Monks?" Lin Xin’s expression remained unchanged, but a hint of red light flickered in his eyes.
"I am Fan Hui."
"Fan Chen."
"Fan Du."
The three monks had a calm deanor, with a faint golden radiance emanating from their bodies, countering the red light Lin Xin emitted.
"Then, what is the true purpose of the venerable monks’ visit?" Lin Xin asked again.
He had heard of the Buddha Domain, indeed a powerful area of the Outer Regions, where beings of all races could take refuge in Buddhism, and it wasn’t limited only to the Human Race becoming monks.
For such powerful beings from a distant region to co here without a deeper purpose was doubtful for anyone to believe.
"Does Benefactor rember Vajra Temple?" Fan Hui’s voice from behind lowered.
Lin Xin’s thoughts shifted, and suddenly he recalled what had happened at Vajra Temple, where he had obtained a Vajra Relic.
"Benefactor has a connection with our Buddhism; there will co a day when you will take refuge in Buddhism. The line between murderous thoughts and Buddha’s thoughts is thin." Fan Hui spoke gravely.
"Karmic retribution, the cycle of the heavens, unlimited rit—saving one is saving all beings. Benefactor’s heart holds Buddha Nature, yet you are trapped in a sea of demons..."
"Are you going to fight ?" Lin Xin interrupted him blandly.
"We rely invite Benefactor to the Buddha Domain to et Guanyin’s World Light. In the Pure Land Buddhist Kingdom, all living beings..."
"Are you going to fight with ?" Lin Xin looked again at him as he interrupted, repeating the question with a much sharper tone.
Fan Hui and the others imdiately fell silent.
After a mont, Fan Chen slowly began to speak.
"Amitabha, if the Benefactor is unwilling, we will simply have to agree to disagree."
The three monks surrounded Lin Xin without a hint of killing intent, instead continuously chanting scriptures.
The sound of the scriptures seed solid as they gradually echoed around, stirring up ripples in the air and forming a hemispherical semi-transparent protective shield around them.
Golden runes on the shield slowly flickered, radiating light that cald the spirit.
The person in white was rather helpless.
He had thought that these three Holy Monks had co together just to capture soone but had not expected them to refrain from killing!
The trio, with a united offense and defense, had achieved the impervious Vajra bodies of Bodhisattvas. The intangible Buddha’s Light they ford together could not be disturbed even by his full force.
Even if the three were only defending and not attacking, it was exasperating.
Had not the three Holy Monks been terrifyingly proficient, equivalent to three True Monarchs joining forces, how could they have abstained from killing all the way here?
The golden Buddha’s Light seed rudintary, but the ground began to slowly blossom with phantom golden lotuses, directly lting and dissolving the black-red demonic qi and the severe chill of the Mysterious Ice.
Lin Xin’s body was locked in place, his expression shifting slightly. He could feel sothing was off about this Buddha’s Light; even ng Xinruo’s Sacred Body was not as sturdy as this.
A shock went through his heart; where had these three experts co from all of a sudden?!
Each one of the three alone was on par with Quan Sheying, and together, the power of the Buddha’s Light they released grew geotrically, pressuring Lin Xin so much that he could barely breathe.
He lifted his hand, wanting to draw his sword, but the action was as slow as if he was in quicksand.
"It’s all up to the three Holy Monks now." The man in white chuckled and stepped towards An Ying and the others.
Unexpectedly, the golden Buddha’s Light suddenly expanded.
Whoosh!
It pulled him in as well.
The horrific sense of weight almost made him spit blood.
The person in white went pale and was suddenly flabbergasted.
"Holy Monks...??"
"The Benefactor in white also has a heavy killing intent. Why not follow us back to the Buddhist Kingdom and take refuge in Ultimate Bliss?"
Fan Hui thrust his magic staff into the ground, his palms together, as a circle of golden prayer beads slowly revolved around him. Each bead was engraved with an inscrutable character, as if illuminating with supre virtue.
The person in white was aware of the terrifying nature of this Light Barrier. Along the way, anyone who entered this barrier would have their speed slow down countless tis, nearly halting completely.
Now he was truly stunned—weren’t the four of them on the sa side? Why had the three monks just taken action against Lin Xin and then abruptly turned on him?
"Have the Holy Monks misunderstood sothing?" the person in white hurried to explain.
