Almost all the shop banners here were apricot yellow, but this one was a completely different pure white.

Although it seed to have been blackened sowhat by dust, it was still evident that this shop banner was distinctly separate from the surrounding apricot yellow ones.

Lin Xin looked carefully, and saw two large characters written on the white banner.

’Pass City’

"All the other shops have signs indicating what they do, but this shop has no introduction at all." Jade Fox said curiously. "Master, why don’t we go in and have a look?"

Lin Xin glanced down at that shop.

The shop occupied a large area, stretching the width of five shop fronts from left to right, monopolizing the space all to itself, and there was also a dense flow of people entering and leaving it.

He thought for a mont and randomly caught a person coming out to ask.

"Brother, what does this shop sell to have so many people coming and going?"

The person who was grabbed struggled impatiently, but found the hand on his shoulder did not move at all, which instantly changed his expression. Seeing that both master and servant of Lin Xin had an extraordinary appearance and deanor, he felt a jolt in his heart and had no choice but to calm down and answer truthfully.

"You must be from out of town? This Pass City was built by the elders of Red Spine Sect, a special passageway that directly connects the giant cities, much like the cars of the past. But this is an absolutely safe ans of conveyance!"

As he spoke about it, a sense of pride inadvertently spread across his face.

"Not to boast, but among the thirteen Giant Cities, all can be interconnected through Pass City allowing free movent. Moreover, the fare is very affordable so even ordinary folks can afford it!"

"Conveyance? Even ordinary folks can afford it?" Lin Xin beca sowhat curious.

Seeing the surging crowd in front of the conveyance, he was suddenly reminded of the train stations on Earth in his previous life.

"Then may I ask, brother, what kind of device is used in this conveyance that it can connect thirteen Giant Cities at such a low cost?" Lin Xin was also puzzled. It seed very easy to infiltrate the Giant City, with hardly any restrictions; with such lax security asures, wasn’t the Red Spine Sect afraid of any mishaps?

The man, when asked this question, also showed a look of admiration.

"You may not believe this, but the device used in Pass City is a giant snake, extrely long, asuring thousands of miles.

This giant snake had been hollowed out by the immortals, divided into many small compartnts, accommodating people to transport back and forth. It is said that each Giant City has such a giant snake as a ans of transport. And those who guard the safety in between are monstrous slaves captured by the Red Spine Sect immortals from the Outer Regions."

The man elaborated all in one breath, but Lin Xin was sowhat stunned by the revelation.

This was just an otherworldly version of the trains from Earth’s past.

And with the Red Spine Sect buzzing with activity internally, how co there was no whisper of it on the outside? The Immortal Dao Alliance had the most perceptive information network; it couldn’t possibly be unaware of such a major project. Since they must be aware, they must have intentionally concealed the details of Red Spine Sect’s developnt,

Seeing the gentle and stable expressions on the faces of the people around, this Giant City, claid to be led by the foremost Sect of the Demon Path, the people here apparently lived more relaxed and convenient lives than those in the cities of Immortal Dao.

Lin Xin couldn’t help but feel a mix of laughter and tears inside.

"Thank you, brother." He casually placed a piece of Broken Silver in the man’s palm. Shaking his head, he walked toward the entrance of Pass City.

"Let’s go, let’s also take a ride on this giant snake conveyer."

Jade Fox, however, didn’t seem too surprised, although she appeared equally curious, apparently already aware of it.

"I have heard the chieftain ntion this giant snake." Seeing Lin Xin’s inquiring look, she quickly explained.

"So, only the people in my Immortal Dao Alliance region have been kept in the dark?" Lin Xin shook his head again, sowhat emotional, then led Jade Fox toward the entrance of Pass City.

"Cheng the Holy Red is dead?!!"

Within Tiancheng, inside a white tower.

Two individuals, a man and a woman, both dressed in red and wearing white belts, stood facing each other. The middle-aged man exclaid in astonishnt.

"According to the Circle of Light technique, he died at the hands of a young demon cultivator who calls himself ’Red Blossom.’" The woman reported stiffly, emotionlessly.

In the tower, all sides were window holes without any windows to block the wind; strong cold winds continuously swept through the small space at the top of the tower, causing the robes of the two people to flutter noisily to the left.

"Red Blossom....?"

"Yes, this person had also appeared several tis in the plans of our sect before, but only occasionally in the past. This ti however... initially the higher-ups hadn’t noticed him, but unexpectedly even Cheng the Holy Red died at his hands." The woman spoke softly.

The man furrowed his brows, paced back and forth with his hands behind his back after listening to the woman’s words.

"Does the Vice Sect Leader know about this?"

"He should be aware by now. Given Zhou Qiwang’s temperant, he might send a high-level expert to personally take care of this matter this ti." The woman analyzed.

"None of those old ancestors acts without seeing an advantage; without a benefit, even if soone has a higher cultivation than them, it would be tough to motivate them." The man shook his head. "Yuan Jing had set the rule long ago; unless it’s at that level, one should not recklessly attack the younger generation. Otherwise, if everyone bullied the lesser with their might, our Human Race would have nearly been annihilated by now."

He paused for a mont.

"I suspect they might use ’that.’"

The woman’s expression changed slightly.

"You an..."

The man nodded but spoke no more.

"Only those few fellows can manage it without counting Yuan Jing, yet they can...."

He turned around, gazing at the gradually setting sun.

"Always track the whereabouts of this red flower, and map out a wide area."

"Yes."

********************************

A huge gray-black python, its mouth wide open, lay on the ground, its body over three ters tall, with its side slit open by a knife to form multiple windows and doors of varying sizes.

Guided by several people in white clothes, a throng poured into the python’s body, finding places to sit inside.

Before long, the python filled up, and the people in white hurriedly blocked the rest of the crowd from entering.

The python’s massive mouth slowly closed, and the cut in its body rapidly healed; then, like a real giant python, it swung its tail and swam off into the distance. Another part of its body continued to load people.

Lin Xin had bought premium access, a purple stone plaque marked with the number Yi 350.

He quickly found his seat using this number.

Jade Fox, however, had tickets far from his, so they were separated.

"Isn’t this pretty much just like a train?"

Lin Xin sat down, and in this python, the seating was in rows facing forward, each row seating six people side by side.

anwhile, a continuous stream of people was still pouring into the other carriage.

Soon after Lin Xin took his seat, a group of people surged toward him, so heading for the seat where he sat.

The one sitting at the very inside was a portly man adorned with pearls and jewels, which was no wonder as only those who could afford tickets ten tis the normal price had seats inside the python.

On the other side of the carriage, there were no seats; instead, poor people squeezed together amid a mix of sweat and other foul odors.

The ticket seller had said it would be a six-hour journey, and even Lin Xin felt reluctant to think about enduring such harsh conditions for six hours.

"Excuse , please."

Lin Xin’s seat was on the outer side. Starting from him, moving inwards, there were five individual seats occupied by others. Each seat was slightly spaced apart, providing a bit of personal space.

At that mont, two individuals who looked like fellow disciples approached Lin Xin.

After letting these two pass, shortly a woman in purple clothes, carrying a sword, walked slowly up from the space Lin Xin had moved from.

The two brothers sat next to the woman in purple, who also sat next to Lin Xin. The fat man sat on the innermost side. One seat seed to remain empty, apparently unoccupied.

"Sister Mo is in good health...." Upon seeing the woman in purple, the brothers appeared sowhat disbelieving before both exhibiting slightly strange expressions.

The older brother greeted her sowhat sheepishly.

Mo Qingsheng, the woman in purple, was beautiful and well-shaped. Seeing the two brothers, she seed to recall having seen them sowhere before.

"It turns out to be you two brothers here," although her tone was familiar, she still couldn’t quite rember where she had t these two.

The brothers reacted oddly, rely giving awkward smiles without daring to start a conversation.

Lin Xin glanced over, eting Mo Qingsheng’s inadvertently drifting gaze, and they exchanged polite smiles before turning away.

Mo Qingsheng had been an orphan and joined the Bai Yue Sect from a young age to practice martial arts and swordsmanship. With her exceptional talent and diligence, she had beco one of the well-known masters in the surrounding areas. She had left her residence to participate in the Dragon Gate competition in the inner city of Tiancheng.

Legend said that the once-in-decades Dragon Gate competition was brought forward. Though Bai Yue Sect was just a small sect in the suburbs of Tiancheng, they sent Mo Qingsheng, their most talented disciple, hoping for a stroke of luck.

Indeed, people like her were not rare; the pair of brothers were also disciples sent by a slightly larger sect.

If they could succeed at Dragon Gate and beco true disciples of the Immortal Sect....

A flicker of excitent crossed Mo Qingsheng’s eyes.

Lin Xin distinctly felt the fluctuations in her aura, indicating she was far from as calm as she appeared.

The brothers felt the sa way.

Not long after the giant python started moving, the bored fat man sitting on the inside struck up a conversation.

"A few young fellows, are you also going to the inner city to participate in the Dragon Gate competition?"

"Yes, yes, are you too, elder brother?" The younger brother, equally bored, joined the chat.

"Not , I just bought the spectator access, just to watch," the fat man, wiping sweat with a handkerchief, comnted on the sowhat stifling heat inside the python.

"Not like you, truly chosen ones by heaven. At such a young age, you get to participate in the Dragon Gate competition."

As they started talking, the conversation picked up, and the people seated in the front rows hearing that the group behind was participating in the Dragon Gate competition, also turned their heads. They were a group of young n and won who began to engage eagerly in conversations.

Only Mo Qingsheng sat coldly in her seat alone, not speaking to anyone.
