At this mont, in a corner unnoticed by anyone, Lin Xin had begun to undergo mysterious changes unknown to others.

"Kill..."

Lin Xin’s eyes gradually reddened, and a pale golden halo spread out from the center of his pupils.

"Do you feel it? This murderous intent, this desire for your death!"

A blurry, seductive voice echoed in his ears.

Lin Xin’s vision began to blur, and he sensed a familiar presence. A pair of slender, icy hands caressed his face.

"Lingling..."

"Husband... soone wants you dead..." Xiao Lingling’s figure appeared in front of him at so point, dressed in a red gown, her hands gently cupping his cheeks, her already decayed face cracked with a bewitching yet eerie smile.

"They want you dead, husband..."

"Die..." Lin Xin raised his hand, trying to touch Xiao Lingling’s face, but abruptly found nothing but air.

"Whoever wants you dead... you want them dead!!"

"Whoever wants you dead... you want them dead!!"

"Whoever wants you dead... you want them dead!!"

A vague voice repeated itself at the base of his heart, resonating like an echo.

Reason and the urge to kill intertwined and surged within him, Lin Xin struggled to suppress them, yet his hand unconsciously rested on the Red Flower Sword.

"Kill them..."

"Kill them...."

"Kill them........"

Click.

Suddenly, a crisp, delicate sound slowly spread. A crack appeared as the Red Flower Sword was drawn from its scabbard.

The sound was as piercing and conspicuous as a wind chi.

Ling’er, Uncle Five, all the masked people, and the managers were all instantly drawn by the sound.

"Mr. Red?..." Ling’er looked at Lin Xin, but for so reason, a faint chill rose in her heart.

At that mont in the sky, the Demon God Child slowly opened its mouth wide, directed downwards, radiating a thick purplish-black color. A massive, terrifying energy rapidly gathered, ready to sweep down.

Lin Xin gripped the sword hilt tightly.

Rustle.

The sound of wind chis echoed by his side.

Boom!

Suddenly, fierce dark red flas burst forth from Lin Xin’s body.

"Qilin!"

He arched his body slightly.

All around him, nurous currents of air rolled and howled, likewise stirring up the sound of wind chis.

Massive terror-inducing Spiritual Energy exploded everywhere, slamming against the Formation’s thin mbrane overhead, like a tidal ocean.

"Divine Shadow!"

A red shadow flashed.

In an instant, Lin Xin’s entire body blazed up like a torch, the fearso, intense dark red flas shot up into the sky, faintly forming an imposing Qilin beast, striking the inside of the Formation with a formidable impact.

The grey-black mist that ford the thin mbrane of the Formation cracked in an instant, opening several fissures.

Then, with a crisp sound, the entire Formation mbrane shattered completely with a rip.

Thunderous BOOM!!!

The blood-colored flas, like arrows shot from a bow, furiously surged into the sky.

Shush!!!

The intense fiery light charged straight into the black disc in the sky, first taking the shape of a large Qilin beast, then rapidly shifting, finally transforming into a giant blood-red sword, ablaze with lightning as it pierced towards the center of the disc where the Demon God Child resided.

The terrifying sword, hundreds of ters tall and dozens of ters wide, pierced through the clouds like a pillar.

Boom!

Thunderous BOOM!!

Two explosive bangs in quick succession, and the flas burst apart.

The face of the Demon God Child was struck by the Fla Giant Sword, its massive head jerked to the side, the energy from its mouth misaligned and shot out, hitting several Golden Cores in mid-air.

Before they could even scream, the Golden Cores instantly turned to ash, their souls extinguished.

The others were imdiately shocked and quickly scattered to flee.

Countless beams of light shot out wildly, the purplish-black beams slashing back and forth across the ground like sharp knives.

The enormous face of the Demon God Child also began to shrink rapidly due to the trendous consumption and loss of supply.

Lin Xin stood quietly in place, his body burning with plasma-like terrifying flas.

He...

He took a deep breath. Lifting the sword high, the glowing red blade reflected his current appearance, his eyes no longer had the normal human pupils, they revealed a golden vertical pupil surrounded by a halo of blood.

"No!!!!!!"

The shrill cry of the old crone in the sky suddenly spread.

The Demon God Child also exploded with a bang, dissolving into a mass of purplish-black mist, bursting outwards in all directions like a shockwave.

All present stared dumbfounded at him.

Those closer were blasted away by the imnse Spiritual Pressure, bleeding from their seven orifices, laying dumbstruck on the ground, unable to rise for quite so ti.

"Mr. Red... what is this... what on earth is this?"

Little Six lay on the ground, his face a study of blankness.

Suddenly, a purple-black beam of light swept across the sky.

Clang!!

The bloody fla of the sword light flashed and then was gone.

The purple-black beam of light suddenly shattered, sliced apart and flung into the distance.

Lin Xin’s figure appeared in front of Little Six.

"Thank goodness... I managed to control it..." he coughed a few tis. The flas on his body also dissipated, making him look like the frail gentleman he was before.

Ling’er covered her mouth, the transitions between life and death causing her emotions to fluctuate so violently that she found herself unable to catch her breath for a mont.

Uncle Wu was the sa; the tears from just a mont ago had not yet dried, and now his face was frozen, unable to move.

"What on earth is going on?"

Yet Uncle Wu, with his old age and wealth of experience, soon ca to his senses. Realizing they had encountered a hidden expert, he hurriedly signaled the people from the escort agency around them to quickly leave.

"Take advantage of the breach in the Formation; we must retreat imdiately!"

"Move now!" The people from the Intestine Clothing Sect also reacted, seizing the chance created by Lin Xin who had opened a gap in the Formation to sprint toward the distance.

At that mont, the entire forest was engulfed in flas, with streaks of purple light sweeping across the sky cutting the woodland into a ragged and pock-marked terrain, like hair that hasn’t been fully shaved clean.

Lin Xin held the Red Flower Sword, giving it a light shake in his hand.

Clang!

Amid the crisp sound, the Intestine Clothing Sect mbers who hadn’t run far suddenly fell to the ground as if tripped by sothing, their faces turning pale as they vomited blood.

"It hurts... it hurts!"

"My ears!!"

One after another, the masked n from the Intestine Clothing Sect began to wail and scream in agony.

"Now’s our chance, let’s go!"

Lin Xin said in a low voice.

Ling’er and the others supported one another, quickly loading the injured onto the horse-drawn carriages and spurring the already terrified horses to flee into the distance.

Lin Xin, holding the sword, eventually couldn’t restrain himself any longer and unleashed the suppressed power in full force.

That sword strike might have been the most powerful he had ever used. Using the Divine Shadow while in the Qilin state was not as simple as one plus one equals two.

With his mastery of Formation Talismans, he took advantage of the Demon Child’s incomplete buildup of montum and broke through the formation in a single strike, subsequently avoiding major shifts due to the Slaughter-induced Illusion and corruption.

Such an outco should have been the best possible under the circumstances, yet his heart was still roiling at the mont. The terrifying murderous intent was like a wild beast breaking free, ready to flip his rationality at any mont.

"So even using Spiritual Energy alone could trigger this degree of backlash from the Underworld?"

Lin Xin stood there, expression impassive.

If he didn’t want to beco a Slaughter tool for the Underworld, he would have to endure the side effects as much as possible.

But...

He raised his hand and saw that the corruption on his arm had visibly spread further. This outburst of power was not without consequence.

"You’re nearly at your limit,"

a familiar yet strange voice suddenly sounded in his ear.

Lin Xin whirled around and saw a fuzzy figure shimring with silver light appear beside him.

"Red Leaf Sword Master..." he said in a low voice.

"Do you rember what I gave you?" the Red Leaf Sword Master’s voice continued.

"Right now, I am communicating with you through the power of the Underworld. Take out what I gave you and eat them. You will have a chance to temporarily suppress the condition of your body for a ti... five years."

"Five years!" Lin Xin thought of the packet that the Red Leaf Sword Master had given him earlier, filled with silver mouse-like fruits.

"Exactly. My items can suppress you for five years. During that ti, you must improve yourself as much as possible without worrying about the Illusions of the Underworld and body corruption. After that, everything will go back to normal," the Red Leaf Sword Master said softly.

Lin Xin glanced at Ling’er and the others quickly approaching, seemingly to call him to leave with them, but their voices, the sounds of the fire around, and the loud booms of Formations exploding in the sky didn’t reach him at all. It was as if the world around him fell into a silent pantomi.

Moreover, the people from the Escort Agency didn’t seem to notice the Red Leaf Sword Master, who was close at hand. It appeared that only he could see her.

"Rember, you only have five years. Don’t waste the respite you’ve fought for. If you want to get rid of them completely, you must first learn how to survive."

As the words fell, the figure of the Red Leaf Sword Master slowly faded away.

*************************

Above the distant ocean of trees,

two wrinkled-faced, grey-cloaked crones stared in shock at the Fla Giant Sword that soared into the sky.

The scorching light forced the two to squint.

"That sword...!"

"My puppets... five were destroyed! Three Daoist Masters of my sect succumbed...!!" a shrill old woman’s voice rang out. "You must give us an explanation for this!"

"My Resetting Blade... the magical treasure I cultivated with my heart’s blood for over a hundred years is destroyed too!" one of the crones said coldly.

"I don’t care! Since you are the ones who invited , you must pay the price!" the piercing voice said icily.

"The Sixth Prince has escaped, and you dare talk about price!!?" one of the crones said angrily.

"If not for that expert who suddenly appeared, would the summoned Demon Child have faltered?"

"If you have the ability, go settle the score with that person yourself!"

At that remark, the crowd fell silent.

No one was willing to confront the person capable of a sword strike that could pierce the Formation and destroy the Demon Child.

"This matter... I will report it to the Sect Leader!"

one of the crones said gravely.

Only then did the Fla Giant Sword that soared into the sky begin to slowly dim and shrink before finally bursting apart, becoming a multitude of flas that gradually vanished. (To be continued.
