The young couple couldn’t determine what Wu Chengzu ant, and for a while, they didn’t dare to move. Wu Chengzu also ignored them and carried Wu Jingjing into the bedroom, wanting his daughter to sleep more comfortably on the bed.
Seeing that Wu Chengzu went into their bedroom and didn’t co back out, the young couple then fled in panic and fear. After a night of tornt, the two had just fallen asleep in each other’s arms when Bai Yiran’s phone rang.
In the early hours of dawn, a call ca from an unfamiliar number, and Leng Yichen answered the phone.
"Hello."
There was a mont of silence on the other end, followed by a laugh, "I knew it would be you answering."
Upon hearing Wu Chengzu’s voice, every cell in Leng Yichen’s body was awakened, "What do you want?"
"At this point, what else can I do?" Wu Chengzu laughed, "I’m not looking for Bai Yiran, I’m looking for you. It’s just that I can only rember this number."
Leng Yichen’s gaze beca slightly sharp; Wu Chengzu could only rember Bai Yiran’s phone number!
Worried that Leng Yichen might hang up, Wu Chengzu imdiately said, "I don’t have much ti, the police are probably on their way. I’m not planning to escape, I’m tired. However, there’s one thing I want to ask of you, and only you can help ."
"Don’t you think your idea is ridiculous? Why should I help you?" Leng Yichen didn’t want to talk to Wu Chengzu any further and was about to hang up when he heard Wu Chengzu’s slightly urgent voice.
"I didn’t touch her!" Wu Chengzu shouted directly into the phone, "I spent several days with her day and night. If I wanted to, Bai Yiran couldn’t escape. You know, I like her; no man wouldn’t want to do that with the woman he likes. I wanted to, and dearly so, several tis almost couldn’t resist."
Leng Yichen’s gaze grew increasingly sinister, with a thick chill in his eyes.
"Do you want to kill right now?" Wu Chengzu laughed self-deprecatingly. "I kind of want to kill myself too. I didn’t touch Bai Yiran because I’m afraid of retribution. So, can you do a favor for not touching her?"
Leng Yichen didn’t speak, so Wu Chengzu continued, "My daughter, Wu Jingjing, was previously addicted to drugs. Although she’s initially detoxed now, without systematic detox treatnts, she could easily relapse. She is my only daughter, and I want her to be well. I don’t trust those police, nor the governnt, I only trust you! Isn’t it ironic, Leng Yichen? In the end, the one I can trust is you!"
Wu Chengzu sat on the bed, looking at his daughter’s sleeping face, tears flowing down, "I beg you, arrange for her to go abroad, let her receive systematic treatnt, and then stay abroad for life and never co back. A death row convict’s daughter cannot survive dostically, the pressure of public opinion will drive her to a dead end."
After Wu Chengzu finished speaking, the two fell silent, and then the sound of Leng Yichen hanging up the phone was heard.
Wu Chengzu put down the phone and reached out to stroke Wu Jingjing’s face, knowing that Leng Yichen had agreed.
