The man outside imdiately ca in and saw Wu Chengzu and Bai Yiran in an ambiguous position.
Bai Yiran was curled up at the head of the bed, her face full of terror, while Wu Chengzu straddled her, holding her hand.
At this mont, the man really wished he were blind, wondering why he kept seeing things he shouldn’t in one day.
"Go get the disinfectant and bandages," Wu Chengzu instructed, his attention entirely on Bai Yiran’s injured hand, without even glancing at the man.
The man received the order and imdiately ran out, soon returning with those items, "Brother Zu, the things are here."
"Mm."
The man didn’t dare linger, putting down the items and then leaving.
Wu Chengzu stood up, brought over the iodine and gauze bandages, and grabbed Bai Yiran’s hand again.
Bai Yiran instinctively wanted to struggle, but Wu Chengzu gripped her tightly, "Don’t move, or I’ll tie you up."
Wu Chengzu’s words didn’t sound like a threat, as if he would really tie her up if she moved again.
Seeing Bai Yiran finally settled, Wu Chengzu began to wipe Bai Yiran’s hand with an iodine-soaked cotton ball.
There was so stinging pain, Bai Yiran unconsciously shook her hand, and Wu Chengzu’s movents beca gentler, wiping while gently blowing. He treated Bai Yiran’s hand like it was a porcelain doll, careful and delicate.
Wu Chengzu seed very skilled at handling wounds, and soon both of Bai Yiran’s hands were bandaged, "Are there any other injuries?"
"No!" Bai Yiran replied coldly, though her knees hurt badly, especially burning when rubbing against her pants.
But Bai Yiran wouldn’t tell Wu Chengzu. Firstly, she didn’t need his attentiveness, and secondly, she didn’t want him to touch her any further.
Wu Chengzu stood up, casually tossed the items onto the table, and sat in a chair to bandage his own facial wound. When dealing with himself, Wu Chengzu wasn’t as gentle, quickly handling his own wound.
He stood up again and said to Bai Yiran, "You better behave and stay here, don’t think about escaping again."
While Wu Chengzu was speaking, Bai Yiran wasn’t listening. She hugged her knees, automatically ignoring the presence of this man.
"Also—" Wu Chengzu had just stepped out of the doorway but then ca back, looking at her with smiling eyes, "Tomorrow night we’ll be taking a boat to leave for T Country. You don’t have much ti left to stay here, use the remaining ti to savor the air of your holand."
This was the reason Wu Chengzu took Bai Yiran to the mountains today, because they would be leaving soon, he wanted Bai Yiran to properly experience her holand once more.
Everything was going well, Wu Chengzu didn’t expect Bai Yiran to have the courage to escape. Her actions turned Wu Chengzu’s good intentions sour.
Originally, he could have treated Bai Yiran gently and politely, just like before.
But after trying, Wu Chengzu realized he and Bai Yiran could never go back to those tis. Now, he sowhat missed when Bai Yiran used to gently call him Mr. Wu.
Indeed, people shouldn’t be too greedy, shouldn’t ask for too much. In the past, Wu Chengzu didn’t like Bai Yiran calling him Mr. Wu. Now, she doesn’t call him that, but they can’t even be friends anymore.
Yes, how can they be friends? He’s a drug dealer, almost killed her a few years ago, and now he’s killed her sister. She should hate him to death by now.
Wu Chengzu took a deep look at Bai Yiran sitting on the bed, and when he turned to leave, his eyes were filled with deep lancholy.
