In the car, Qiu Zi anxiously looked out the window. She didn’t know where she was being taken, but she was certain that these people wouldn’t kill her just yet.

Wu Jingjing was having a drug withdrawal episode, appearing completely deranged. Wu Chengzu looked at her with guilt, tightly holding his daughter down to prevent her from hurting herself.

Wu Jingjing was in agony, her only relief was to scream out, "Dad! Please save , or I’m going to die! I need a fix!"

Da Lin, driving the car, couldn’t ignore Wu Jingjing’s cries any longer, "Brother Zu, maybe give Jingjing a shot? We do have so on the car..."

Before Da Lin could finish his sentence, he felt the intense pressure of Wu Chengzu’s ominous gaze from behind, imdiately silencing him.

"She can’t get a shot, she has to endure it!" Wu Chengzu said in a stern voice.

Upon hearing this, Wu Jingjing lost all reason, her body thrashed violently, and her untrimd nails scratched across Wu Chengzu’s handso face, leaving a blood mark.

Qiu Zi called out softly and looked at Wu Chengzu. She knew he wasn’t a good person, but he truly loved his daughter. If not, he wouldn’t have risked his life to rescue her, even taking Qiu Zi along.

When Wu Chengzu heard a woman’s voice in the car, he rembered the woman he had brought along on impulse. It wasn’t out of kindness; he took her because she had said, "Your daughter must be addicted to drugs and severely malnourished."

Feeling guilt towards Wu Jingjing, and upon hearing this woman’s concern for his daughter, he felt guilty towards her too.

Wu Chengzu did not question who Qiu Zi was, why she was here, or why Mr. Dong wanted her dead. None of this mattered to him; his priority was Wu Jingjing.

"Da Lin, stop the car." After the car ca to a halt, Wu Chengzu looked at Qiu Zi and coldly said, "Get out."

Qiu Zi did not want any involvent with these fugitives, obediently got out of the car. Once outside, she found herself disoriented, possessing rely a few hundred in cash, an ID, and an unpaid bank card, without even a phone to contact anyone.

Once she was out, Da Lin quickly started the car.

Wu Jingjing, after her fit, was exhausted, lying in Wu Chengzu’s arms and falling asleep.

"Brother Zu, how did you know Jingjing would be with Mr. Dong?" Da Lin was puzzled. After extracting Wu Chengzu, they initially planned to take him back to where Yao Zhiqing was hiding and discuss their escape. Yet, Wu Chengzu insisted on coming to H City, discovering upon arrival it was to rescue Wu Jingjing.

Wu Chengzu lit a cigarette and smoked freely, "Back then, Leng Yichen colluded with the police to deceive , saying Jingjing was in their custody, forcing to surrender, but never allowing us to et. Even an idiot would eventually realize Jingjing was never really in their hands, or perhaps she once was." Reflecting on Xiao Feng’s evasive gaze, Wu Chengzu frowned, "Thinking it over, soone who hates yet can take Jingjing away should only be Mr. Dong of H City."

Wu Chengzu once considered if Wu Jingjing might be with Bai Yiran, but quickly dismissed the thought. If Wu Jingjing was with Bai Yiran at that ti, why would the police refuse their eting?

Thinking of Bai Yiran, Wu Chengzu’s gaze turned obscure, "Is Bai Yiran still held captive by Yao Zhiqing?"

Da Lin nodded, "Yes, still held. That woman is clever, neither kicking up a fuss nor yielding, won’t suffer any loss, yet nobody knows what she’s plotting daily."

Wu Chengzu chuckled, "Indeed, she’s very clever, always has been."
