Leng Liewei was different from Leng Yichen.

Leng Yichen didn’t like having too many people at ho, so when he stayed here, there was only Sister Liu. The other servants were all part-ti workers, coming and going at scheduled tis, and Leng Yichen hardly ever ran into them.

But it was different for Leng Liewei; he was older. He liked having more people at ho, and having lived a life of luxury for so long, he was accustod to being served by many. So, after Leng Yichen left, he had Sister Wu hire a few full-ti maids and cooks. As a result, the house beca more crowded and there was more gossip.

Luna was startled by Sister Wu’s actions, her eyes nervously fixed on the door.

Although the words she just said reflected her true feelings, she would only dare speak like that in front of Sister Wu. If others overheard and it reached Leng Liewei’s ears, she would hardly have any good days ahead.

Sister Wu hurriedly went out to look around, and seeing that there seed to be no one in the corridor, she thought she might have been mistaken. Only then did she return to the room, closing the door behind her.

Only after hearing the door close did a new maid erge from the corner, her heart racing.

It seed she had overheard sothing shocking!

The maid quickly walked downstairs, just in ti to et Qi Hui, who was bored and heading upstairs.

"What are you so flustered about?" Qi Hui’s eyes glead. This woman clearly ca from upstairs, and Luna and Sister Wu should have been the ones up there just now.

"I..." The maid’s eyes darted around as she stood cornered on the stairway, feeling uneasy.

Seeing the maid’s expression, Qi Hui knew she must have heard sothing. With a feigned smile, she took the maid’s hand, "You look like you’re good at making cakes. The president’s family will have dinner here tonight. This is your chance to show off." Saying this, Qi Hui led the maid by the hand toward the kitchen, "Let’s figure out what kind of cake to make tonight to highlight your skills~"

The maid stared blankly at Qi Hui, as if entranced by Qi Hui’s words, allowing herself to be led along.

At the Cheng Family ho.

As soon as Grandma walked through the door, she frowned, seeing the chaotic ss inside the house. Clothes were strewn everywhere, the food on the table wasn’t cleared away, the curtains were drawn during broad daylight, making the room dark, and there was a musty, sour sll.

"How can you live like this!" Grandma walked to the window, yanking the curtains open and pushing the window ajar, letting fresh air rush in.

Xia Lian, like a ghost long accustod to darkness, imdiately shrank back into the shadows at the sudden light, shielding her eyes with her hands, clearly unaccustod to such brightness.

Seeing Xia Lian like this, Grandma’s face darkened, "What on earth is going on? How did the house end up like this!"

Xia Lian opened her mouth, wanting to say sothing, but upon seeing Grandma’s unpleasant expression, she decided not to say anything.

Grandma shot her a sidelong glance. Being the Cheng family’s daughter-in-law for over twenty years, she had long regarded Xia Lian as her daughter. Seeing her in such a sorry state, it was clear to her that sothing must have happened at ho.

Grandma simply assud that Xia Lian and Cheng Gang were having another argunt, and without overthinking it, she began tidying up the leftovers on the table.

"You’re all grown adults now, can’t you give so peace of mind!" Grandma glared at Xia Lian, "Look at you! Go tidy yourself up! I’m even ashad to look at you, let alone Cheng Gang!"

Saying this, Grandma took the plates to the kitchen, while Xia Lian watched her back with a perpetually gloomy gaze.
