Leng Yichen watched Bai Yiran, watched her tears fall, and reached out his hand to wipe them away, but she coldly avoided him.
"I’m not trying to prove anything. I just want you to know how treacherous society can be, not everyone is what they appear to be."
"Oh really! You’re not what you appear to be either!" With that, Bai Yiran turned and got into a taxi, telling the driver her grandmother’s address.
On the way, Bai Yiran’s phone kept ringing. They were all calls from Leng Yichen, but she rejected them all.
The taxi driver glanced at the rearview mirror and said to Bai Yiran, "Young lady, there’s a Maybach following us."
Bai Yiran turned around; it was Leng Yichen’s car. Just then, his call ca in again, and she picked it up. On the other end, Leng Yichen’s slightly anxious voice ca through, "Girl, stop this. Let’s go ho and talk, okay?"
"I don’t want to go back now, nor do I want to see you. I need to think this over. I feel like our decision to get married might have been too hasty. Our worlds are different, everything is different."
"What do you an?" Leng Yichen’s voice turned cold.
"I an, I need to really consider our marriage, that’s it! Don’t call again! And stop following !"
Bai Yiran hung up the phone, and when she looked back, Leng Yichen’s car had already pulled over to the side of the road and was no longer following her.
Turning around, Bai Yiran just felt so exhausted, she just wanted to go ho and sleep, without thinking about anything.
When Cheng Shishi saw Bai Yiran standing outside the door, she was quite surprised.
"Sister! How co you’re back?"
"Am I not allowed to co back?" Bai Yiran snapped, glaring at Cheng Shishi as she sat on the sofa in the living room.
"Weren’t you with brother-in-law..."
Bai Yiran covered Cheng Shishi’s mouth and glared at her fiercely, "Keep your voice down, or grandma will hear!"
Cheng Shishi blinked her big eyes and nodded. Bai Yiran lowered her hand, and Cheng Shishi spoke softly, "Aren’t you supposed to be with brother-in-law? Why are you back?"
"Don’t ask, I’m too tired to explain..."
In Bai Yiran’s eyes, Cheng Shishi was still just a kid, so she tried to avoid telling her about any bad things.
However, Cheng Shishi wasn’t a fool. After all, she was a twenty-year-old girl, and just by looking at Bai Yiran, she knew sothing was up.
"Is Yiran back?" Grandma ca out of the kitchen and asked when she saw Bai Yiran, "Why are you back? Didn’t you need to be with your friends?"
"No need... Grandma, I’m hungry. Is there any food at ho?"
Bai Yiran hadn’t had much to eat at Xu Juan’s place; instead, she left with a belly full of anger, and now she was truly hungry.
"Yes! I’ll go heat it up for you." Grandma said with a cheerful smile as she walked into the kitchen.
"Thank you, Grandma!" Bai Yiran followed her into the kitchen, not forgetting to give Cheng Shishi a warning glare.
Leng Yichen’s office was on the top floor of the entire Huai Building, where the sunlight stread directly through the bright floor-to-ceiling windows. From here, one could overlook the entire city’s scenery, which also represented Leng Yichen’s irreplaceable status.
