As soon as Cheng Shishi made her request, it was t with objections from Grandma and Uncle. They thought Bai Yiran was pregnant now, Leng Yichen’s work was still busy, and there was already a child at ho. If Cheng Shishi ca over, she would just be adding to the chaos.
However, Bai Yiran expressed indifference. Having Cheng Shishi co over on weekends to help play with Xiao Lang wouldn’t be adding to the chaos but actually helping her. After all, in her current state, she really didn’t have the energy to accompany Xiao Lang.
Leng Yichen also didn’t object to this. The house was big enough, and even if Cheng Shishi moved in, it wouldn’t disturb their marital life.
With both Bai Yiran and Leng Yichen in agreent, it was settled that Cheng Shishi would co over to stay on weekends.
After sending everyone off, Bai Yiran finally felt exhausted. She took her pajamas and went to the bathroom to take a shower. Ever since she beca pregnant, Bai Yiran was very cautious while showering, afraid of slipping and falling.
After showering, Bai Yiran ca out, and Leng Yichen was still busy in the study. The master bedroom and the study were connected, so Bai Yiran could clearly see Leng Yichen bent over his work, frowning.
"I’m going to sleep first," Bai Yiran said softly. Without waiting for Leng Yichen’s response, she lifted the quilt and lay down.
The soft feel of the bed made Bai Yiran curl her lips into a smile. She got into a comfortable position and was about to drift off to sleep when the bed suddenly sank behind her, followed by a warm body pressing against her. A slightly rough hand reached over from behind and wrapped her in an embrace, pulling her back against Leng Yichen’s body.
"Tell , how many jobs did you work back then?" Leng Yichen suddenly thought of the first ti he saw Bai Yiran, rushing into the café, paying for that scumbag first love, and then rushing out again to wait in the wind for the bus.
Bai Yiran’s body stiffened. She knew Leng Yichen was still concerned about Cheng Shishi’s words.
For so long, they hadn’t ntioned that part of her college years.
"I don’t rember..." Bai Yiran honestly couldn’t recall because she didn’t care anymore, so she had forgotten completely.
"Girl, do you know when I first saw you?" Leng Yichen buried his head in Bai Yiran’s hair and asked.
"Wasn’t it at the hotel... I got drunk that day, and we just..." Bai Yiran felt a bit awkward.
"No." Leng Yichen tightened his embrace around Bai Yiran, "The first ti I saw you was in a café. You rushed in to et your first love, unwilling to even drink a bottle of orange juice costing a few dozen, yet thinking about how to save money to go abroad with him. You hurried out after settling the bill, standing in the wind anxiously waiting for the bus." Leng Yichen paused, "At that mont, my car passed in front of you, and I had this urge to stop and give you a ride."
Bai Yiran was shocked. She had always thought that her first eting with Leng Yichen was that reckless night at the hotel. She never expected that he had seen her long before that.
Suddenly, Bai Yiran was filled with a strange feeling called fate.
"Later, when I t you at the hotel again, you had just broken up, crying miserably, and you even advised not to be too picky when finding a partner, just soone decent would do."
Bai Yiran was a bit embarrassed. She didn’t quite rember what she had said that day.
"Are you upset because of what Cheng Shishi said today?"
Leng Yichen tightened his embrace around Bai Yiran, "No, I’m not angry. I just regret not stopping that day to give you a ride. Maybe then you wouldn’t have had to endure the pain of a breakup, and I could have had you earlier."
