"Ha." Leng Yichen let out a cold laugh, "They’ve really reached a certain level."
Leng Yichen was mocking the Qi father and daughter. On the day of the banquet, Qi Hui made such a scene in public, Old Qi was furious and took Qi Hui ho right then and there. Normally, they wouldn’t have any dealings with the Leng Family for the rest of their lives, yet the Qi Family actually appeared at the Leng Family during the New Year, and Old Qi was casually playing chess with Leng Liewei?
"Mr. Leng, Yiran..." Qi Hui bit her lips and said with difficulty, "The incident at the banquet was my fault, and I wanted to find a chance to apologize to you."
Apologize? Bai Yiran raised her eyebrows. Could such a matter be resolved with an apology? At that ti, Bai Yiran considered the bigger picture and didn’t let the situation get out of control, but if the roles were reversed and Bai Yiran had been successfully frad, would Qi Hui and Luna have considered the bigger picture?
Bai Yiran looked coldly at those two, inwardly sneering.
There’s a saying that when things are abnormal, there’s bound to be sothing strange going on. She didn’t believe that Qi Hui would suddenly have a change of heart and bring her father here to apologize during the New Year. Looking at Luna’s smile that was sweet to the bone.
These two must be up to sothing again!
"Old Qi and Qi Hui are my invited guests; don’t show a sour face to them!" Leng Liewei ca down the stairs with his hands behind his back. Old Qi was one of his few friends, and unless absolutely necessary, Leng Liewei really didn’t want to lose this friend. So, when Luna suggested inviting the Qi family for the New Year, he agreed without hesitation.
Old Qi followed behind Leng Liewei, feeling uneasy. He really didn’t want to co, nor did he want to continue his relationship with soone as cold as Leng Liewei. But with only Qi Hui as his daughter, he couldn’t resist her pleas, and he had to swallow his pride and co. Just thinking about his daughter’s bold idea made him break out in a cold sweat. Yet, for the sake of his daughter’s future happiness, he couldn’t help but assist her.
The New Year’s Eve dinner was quite sumptuous, but Bai Yiran and Leng Yichen didn’t have much of an appetite; they were just waiting to leave at midnight.
Luna noticed the oppressive atmosphere at the table, and everyone seed disinterested, so she stood up and said to Bai Yiran, "Yiran, co with for a mont; I have sothing for you!"
Bai Yiran hesitated a bit, not believing that Luna would be kind enough to give her sothing.
"Yiran, you should go. Your stepmom really has sothing to give you."
With Leng Liewei speaking up, it wouldn’t be appropriate for Bai Yiran not to go. Anyway, this was the Leng Family, so Bai Yiran didn’t have to worry about any unexpected people ruining her reputation.
The only thing making her uneasy was that Qi Hui was still at the dinner table, but Bai Yiran was confident in Leng Yichen’s endurance.
Following Luna all the way to the master bedroom she shared with Leng Liewei on the third floor, the furnishings were comparable to those in Leng Yichen’s room on the second floor.
Luna took out a jade ring from her jewelry box and handed it to Bai Yiran, "This is for you; consider it a small token from as your stepmother. I was wrong about those past incidents; I was narrow-minded. Please don’t hold it against ; after all, we’re family."
Bai Yiran did not expect that Luna indeed had sothing to give her.
Could it be that she truly wants to make peace and that I’m overthinking this?
