Seeing Wu Chengzu, Li Lan’s heart skipped a beat, and her face imdiately stiffened.
"What’s wrong? What’s with that expression?" Wu Chengzu showed no change, smiling all the while.
"What? Not inviting in?"
After hearing this, Li Lan forced a smile, which looked unnatural, her mouth even twitching with nervousness.
"Sis... brother-in-law... why are you here?"
Wu Chengzu didn’t answer Li Lan’s question and walked straight into the house.
It was then Li Lan noticed Wu Chengzu wasn’t alone; three tall and strong n followed him. Strangely, Wu Chengzu was neither as tall nor as imposing as the three n, but standing in front of them, he exuded a king’s dominance and an undeniable sinister air.
"Brother-in-law!"
Li Lan shouted and followed them inside.
As Wu Chengzu entered, he saw Li Lan’s boyfriend huddled on the sofa playing a mobile ga and nodded at him, "Playing, huh?"
Li Lan’s boyfriend, seeing Wu Chengzu and the three burly n behind him, was so startled he quickly turned off his phone and sat up straight.
"Sis... brother-in-law, why are you here?"
Li Lan and her boyfriend’s hearts filled with a growing unease. Could it be Wu Chengzu found out about Wu Jingjing’s disappearance and ca to confront them?
But from the look of his tone and expression, there seed to be no strange signs as if he were unaware of the matter.
At the mont, the two were unsure of Wu Chengzu’s true intentions.
"Brother-in-law, you’re so busy, what brought you all the way here?" Li Lan glanced at the three n, "And you brought these people..."
Wu Chengzu smiled, comfortably sitting on a single sofa near the coffee table, and the three n naturally stood behind the sofa.
"I just finished so business, and since I was passing by, I thought I’d co up and see Jingjing." As he spoke, Wu Chengzu looked around, "Where’s Jingjing? She should be back from school by now."
Li Lan’s heart twitched, forcing a smile as she said, "Jingjing hasn’t co back yet; she’s probably playing at the internet cafe again. She’s been going often lately, and I can’t seem to control her." As she spoke, Li Lan watched Wu Chengzu’s expression, seeing nothing off, she continued, "I told her there’s a computer at ho, no need to go to the internet cafe. But Jingjing said the ho computer’s not powerful enough and she can’t fully enjoy her gas... brother-in-law, you know, there’s nothing I can do about Jingjing."
A barely perceptible murderous intent flickered in Wu Chengzu’s eyes before he frowned lightly, appearing to be angry at Wu Jingjing, "Going to internet cafes all the ti is not good; how about this, I’ll pay for you to buy the highest-spec computer."
Li Lan’s eyes lit up, glancing at her boyfriend, who imdiately understood and said, "A good computer costs over ten thousand now!"
Wu Chengzu nodded, "Alright, that’s fine."
Li Lan grinned and continued, "Brother-in-law, lately Jingjing keeps complaining that the ho’s interior is outdated and she’s embarrassed to bring friends over, about that..."
Li Lan stopped halfway, hoping Wu Chengzu would suggest the rest himself.
Wu Chengzu nodded, "Okay, I’ll pay for your ho to be renovated."
Li Lan and her boyfriend were overjoyed, completely unaware that danger was creeping closer.
"Brother-in-law, I think you should just transfer us a hundred thousand at once. We’ll use it to buy a computer for Jingjing and renovate the house, and we can save the rest for Jingjing so she doesn’t ask you for money every now and then." Li Lan made it sound like she was considering Wu Chengzu’s interests, while subtly driving a wedge between him and his daughter.
"Alright, that’s fine!"
Upon hearing Wu Chengzu’s response, the two were overjoyed to the extre.
Wu Chengzu looked at the two, his face suddenly cold, "When you two are dead, I’ll burn a hundred thousand joss paper for you!"
