Bai Yiran was taken aback. She wasn’t staying at any classmate’s house; that was just an excuse she made up to deceive her family. "Oh, she has sothing going on tonight, so she probably can’t co. Anyway, I’ll be going back ho!"
After hanging up the phone, Bai Yiran felt a vague sense of unease.
It had been a long ti since she had gone ho. After informing Leng Yichen, she headed straight to her grandmother’s house after work. She even took a taxi back to avoid her grandmother sensing anything unusual.
Upon entering the house, Bai Yiran was startled because she saw her cousin Cheng Shishi crouching pitifully on the ground, surrounded nacingly by her grandmother, uncle, and aunt, as if conducting an interrogation.
"What are you doing? What happened to Shishi?" Bai Yiran thought that Cheng Shishi must have done sothing wrong again and was being judged by the family tribunal.
Under normal circumstances, Cheng Shishi would’ve been crying and asking her for help, but now Cheng Shishi was vigorously winking at her, her facial expressions contorted from the effort...
"Shishi, what are you doing?" Bai Yiran asked in bewildernt.
Bai Yiran went to her grandmother’s side, affectionately hooked her arm around her grandmother’s, and playfully whined, "Grandma, what’s going on? Did Shishi do sothing wrong to upset you?"

Her grandmother slapped Bai Yiran across the face.
Bai Yiran was astonished. She initially wanted to plead for Cheng Shishi, but who would have thought that in the next second, she herself would be slapped by her grandmother, "Grandma... what happened..."
"You really are my good granddaughter! After all, not having the surna Cheng! How difficult to cultivate!"

"Speak up!" Her grandmother swung her arm and hit Bai Yiran’s shoulder, "Who exactly did you marry? Why didn’t you tell us about sothing as big as marriage!"
Bai Yiran’s mind buzzed into blankness. Her grandmother and uncle knew... How could she have overlooked that? With the high-profile announcent of her identity by Leng Yichen yesterday, it would surely be reported today...
"I didn’t intend to hide it from you guys. I was planning on telling you gradually... I..."
As Bai Yiran wasn’t ho, Leng Yichen happened to have a social engagent that evening. By the ti he returned ho, it was close to midnight. He initially thought Bai Yiran should have already been asleep, but when he got to the bedroom, he discovered Bai Yiran wasn’t there at all.
On the table, Bai Yiran’s phone was buzzing. Just as she was about to pick it up, her grandmother quickly snatched it away.
"Grandma, it’s him! He’ll be worried if he can’t find ..."
"Let him worry himself sick! I’m telling you, Bai Yiran, this matter won’t be resolved so easily!" Having said that, she furiously smashed Bai Yiran’s phone to pieces on the ground.
The phone suddenly went dead, and Leng Yichen furrowed his brows tightly, gripping his phone as anxiety crept into his heart.
Leng Yichen’s phone rang; it was a call from Cheng Shishi. Quickly, Leng Yichen answered it.
