"Good!"

One of the True Qi Realm Martial Artists couldn’t help but shout.

In less than a few minutes, they had been slaughtered so ruthlessly by ng Ping that their courage nearly vanished. If not for ng Ping’s relentless killing intent, they probably wouldn’t have fought so desperately.

Now, seeing Lu Chang’sheng finally injure ng Ping, so of the True Qi Realm fighters started to see a glimr of hope.

Only a glimr of hope, though.

ng Ping’s expression was ice cold, his eyes brimming with murderous intent, his body swelling several inches larger.

He grabbed hold of the fishing net binding him, planning to rip it apart first, then slowly tornt everyone present.

"Do you really think re mortals like you can understand the power of an Immortal?"

With a loud tearing sound, the fishing net was instantly shredded.

But then, ng Ping suddenly saw a cloud of white mist thrown his way.

His attention was focused on the net, and he barely cared about the substance drifting in.

With his Immortal Body, he had the strength of a Warrior; mortal ans had little chance at harming him.

Who would’ve thought, in the very next mont, regret flooded his heart.

The stuff, looking like li, landed on him—awash with corrosive force, instantly invading his magical power within. His Warrior physique turned alarmingly fragile.

Seeing this, the others didn’t waste ti—hurling their weapons, targeting the weakest spots on the body.

Eyes, ears, groin, butt—nothing held back.

They knew, if ng Ping didn’t die today, none of them would survive—so rcy was out of the question.

ng Ping flailed in panic.

At the sa mont, another toxic surge erupted inside him—the venom from Lu Chang’sheng’s spear, finally taking hold and draining his magical power to nothing.

His defenses dropped to rock bottom, so now, even the attacks of the True Qi Realm Martial Artists could pierce ng Ping’s guard—their hopes soared.

After struggling for less than another quarter of an hour, ng Ping was run through in the chest and belly by Lu Chang’sheng’s spear. He deflated like a punctured balloon, shriveling back to normal, blood soaking the ground.

This Immortal, who was said to stand high above the Innate level, had finally fallen—here, among mortals.

But the crowd had paid dearly in blood and lives.

Out of more than forty True Qi Realm Martial Artists, over thirty were dead or wounded; only a handful, including Lu Chang’sheng, escaped unhard.

As the main force in battle, Lu Chang’sheng was nearly crippled by ng Ping’s death throes—but, thanks to his Elephant Armor Skill, he survived with minor scares.

"Killing an Immortal... is damn hard!"

Thinking back on the fight just now, everyone slumped to the ground, panting, grateful to be alive.

After cleaning up the wrecked courtyard, night fell, and it was finally ti to divvy up the spoils.

Lu Chang’sheng rightfully took the leader’s seat.

Everyone had lived through that brutal fight. They knew, without Scholar Lu there, even if their entire plan went perfectly, ng Ping wouldn’t have died.

It had taken a round of crossbow volleys to push ng Ping to the brink, and even then, he kept slaughtering people.

Shows just how terrifying his strength really was.

ng Ping didn’t leave behind much; everyone here was shrewd, aware of how unpredictable Immortals were. So they burned the body to ash with tung oil, not even keeping the corpse.

Not only did this make looting easier—it also made sure the Immortal couldn’t sohow return from the dead.

Sure enough, after burning ng Ping’s body, they found a suit of armor—thin as cicada wings—among the scraps.

This stunned everyone.

When they first searched the corpse, ng the Immortal was stripped bare—such a big suit of armor should’ve been impossible to hide from everyone’s eyes.

Turns out, it was hidden beneath his skin.

Sadly, the armor didn’t seem all that valuable; a few holes pierced its surface, likely from crossbow bolts.

"Who knows what this is worth? How about we put it up for auction?"

Lu Chang’sheng glanced over at the crowd.

Besides the armor, there was also a gray, thumb-sized creature—it didn’t seem too special at first glance.

The group eyed the strange beast nervously.

This insect was the color of ashes, with a huge mouth, looking like a mini toad. Its belly swelled oddly large, almost deford.

There was also a broken pendant, and twelve Techniques.

Seeing these Techniques, the group looked a bit disappointed.

After all, these were the sa ones ng Ping had offered up for trade earlier.

For their situation now, these were average at best.

After discussing it, they decided: besides the weird creature and the Techniques, the two other items would go up for auction.

The auction would take place a month later.

"This creature might look ominous, but if an Immortal chose to carry it around, its value can’t be small. Scholar Lu contributed the most in today’s battle—why not let him have it?" said one True Qi Realm Martial Artist with a grin.

Imdiately, the other True Qi Realm folk nodded in agreent.

Only Hong Yuan, Qin Wan, Xu Zhuqing and a few others close to Lu Chang’sheng seed unconvinced.

The thing was obviously valuable, but for re mortal Martial Artists, it was a tough call.

To those who practice Evil Techniques, venomous insects are worth a fortune; in a master’s hands, this little beast is priceless.

Put it in the hands of a regular person, though—and it’s basically a Life-Ending Talisman.

After all, a master can subdue and suppress a poisonous insect; give it to an ordinary man, and it only brings disaster.

So, the other True Qi Realm folks were happy to hand it off to Lu Chang’sheng.
