Michael and Leo were both lying on their backs on the floor like that for a full three days and still showed no signs of waking up anyti soon.
"So weird. Kids passed out this long without water or food. Then how co they look better and better?"
Even though both of them were still in their transford forms, Raphael wasn’t blind. He could see both their bodies looking better than when they first passed out.
Looking at this situation, sothing positive was definitely changing inside them. His guess was that after that shock, their brains were trying to change and adapt to using the domain.
Humans weren’t born to use domain expansion, so it made sense that they failed. But the gods wouldn’t let their heirs be unable to use their own powers, so they’d probably step in a bit to help.
Even if they couldn’t use domain expansion right away after waking up this ti, at least they’d make so decent progress.
Right then, Michael’s eyelids twitched slightly, but he couldn’t wake up just yet. Not long after, Leo’s eyelids also twitched.
The ti difference seed to match the gap between when each of them had passed out.
Whoever passed out first woke up first. Michael’s eyes finally returned to normal, not stiff like before.
He slowly sat up, holding his head. For so reason, the feeling right now was super weird. His head hurt quite a bit, but his whole body also felt kinda refreshed. He couldn’t understand how these two opposite feelings could exist together.
"Hey, what happened?"
He still couldn’t rember clearly what had happened back then, so he looked at Raphael and asked.
"Oh, you’re awake? So why did we pass out, anyway?"
At the sa ti, Leo also spoke up and slowly sat up holding his head, just like Michael. He also couldn’t rember exactly what had happened at the mont he used domain expansion.
Seeing both of those god-tier prodigies just staring blankly like two dumbasses, Raphael’s eyelids twitched a few tis.
Maybe the shock from that massive amount of information really had a more serious effect than he thought.
"From what I can tell, you both got shocked because your brains had to take in a huge load of info in an instant."
Raphael could only say that much. Saying more might just make him more wrong. He was just guessing blindly based on the symptoms anyway, since he’d never actually seen anyone use domain expansion before.
His reminder made both of them imdiately frown. The temporarily lost mories got triggered by the right ’keyword’ and ca rushing back.
They widened their eyes, but their reaction wasn’t as crazy as before. This ti their brains had broken that mory chunk into smaller pieces and only kept what was actually necessary.
"So that’s it... I understand the level of detail of the domain now. Leo, what about you?"
Slowly absorbing the old mories, Michael nodded slightly, now knowing what to do next.
"Probably not much different from you. I think if I just set up so rules about imagery, my brain won’t get overloaded anymore. And how long have we been passed out?"
Raphael was a bit stunned. He didn’t expect that after just one nap, both of them would change this much.
If passing out every ti ant making huge progress, then staying passed out almost your whole life wouldn’t be so bad.
"About three days. Your bodies are really weird. You clearly haven’t eaten or drunk anything and you’re still fine. If you guys were strong contractors, I’d get it, but you’re both only level zero."
This point also confused Raphael. When he and Rias were on the run, they didn’t eat much and were often hungry, but they stayed okay because they were demigods. He’d never seen a situation like these two before.
"Now that you ntion it, I’m hungry. Got anything to eat?"
For so reason, Michael’s stomach growled as soon as he heard they’d been starving for three days. Like if his body didn’t realize it, he wouldn’t be hungry.
"I told you we’re never short on food. Follow . We’ll eat and talk. First, let get so water."
With that, Leo walked over to the water barrel and downed a whole ladle of water. Unfiltered, not boiled either, but being able to confidently drink like that really opened Michael’s eyes.
He was sure Leo’s body was fully human, without any special resistance like his own. So the only explanation was that human immune systems here were just really damn good.
Seeing him drink made Michael a little thirsty too. When in Ro, do as the Romans, and besides, his current body wasn’t exactly normal, so no need to be scared...
"Damn it. Can’t be afraid of getting sick."
Michael muttered while trying to change how his brain thought. Cleanliness here was useless as hell. If he kept this up, he’d never fit into the new environnt.
So he struggled to scoop up a ladle of water and drank it all. It tasted like... water. Looked a bit dirty but actually had no sll or taste.
With the naked eye, you couldn’t see any microorganisms at all. So there was no idea if it was safe by normal standards.
"Ha ha, we might live a bit dirty, but I’m an educated guy. I still know how to make sure the water source at least won’t poison us."
Raphael felt like he was being seriously misunderstood. Sure, he’d let things slide back then because there was basically no way to treat injuries, but he wasn’t crazy enough to hurt his own body over food or water.
"Alright, so what are we eating?"
Whatever anyone said, Raphael used to be a high-ranking noble, so Michael figured he could trust him. No way an educated person would be dumb enough to use contaminated water.
"Whole roasted goat, left cold. If it tastes really bad, just pinch your nose and you’ll be fine."
Leo pulled Michael along while flashing a ’wicked’ smile as he introduced it.
???
He understood every word, but why did they sound so weird put together? Was this really food?
