The return of the upperclassn was clearly felt with the increase in the population of students on campus.

The first-year students like Liam who had connections with their seniors imdiately went to et up and ask about their journey and what their Special Evaluation was like

Liam was out with the seniors from his club, returning from a late-night dinner at the karaoke bar.

It was a celebration dinner for the seniors since their class had just earned a lot of Class Rank Points from the Special Evaluation.

"Senior Tyler, you said it was a combined evaluation with the third-years. How did you guys manage to win?"

Liam asked, puzzled. The third-years were Rank 3 Awakeneds, while the second-years were rely Rank 2 Awakeneds.

If it was a direct battle royale or a set of duels, there was no way for the second-years to win.

"Haha, don’t think that way. We didn’t face them directly."

Tyler, the second-year student, said, taking a sip from his cup of juice.

"You see, it was more of a tactical ga. It was totally fair. But even then, we almost got crushed by Class-3A. Damn. The Student Council President is really a nace."

By his side, Gwendolyn, his girlfriend, nodded.

"Tyler’s right. President Anthony is really fearso. Thankfully, Vice President Eren was there to help salvage the situation."

The other two guys simply nodded along, choosing to remain silent and have their drinks quietly.

’So President Anthony is actually that fearso. Enough to make the entire second-year body feel pressured. No wonder he’s the top student in the academy.’

Liam thought, quietly walking beside them as Tyler and Gwendolyn chatted about the possible fixtures of their upcoming matches as Awakened footballers.

He didn’t really pay attention to what they were saying, instead looking around curiously.

The sky was dark and peaceful, with no stars to illuminate it.

Thankfully, the streetlights were working perfectly, making it comfortable for the students to move about.

Liam’s nose twitched, catching the scent of fresh bread being baked.

’Hm, I should probably have bread as my breakfast tomorrow.’

Nodding to himself, he was about to smile when a scream echoed through the night.

The five students froze, looking at each other in confusion.

Without hesitating, they imdiately rushed to the source of the sound, finding a few students rushing there too.

By the ti they all got there, it seed the matter had been resolved—in an unpleasant manner.

Liam’s eyes widened.

Ysabella was lying on the ground, holding her leg in pain. It was bleeding. anwhile, a trash cleaner was sprawled on the ground not far from her, his skull smashed brutally.

Stepping on his lifeless body was Gaga. The boy had a handkerchief wrapped around his fist, dripping with blood.

"What happened?"

"Oh my god, there’s a dead body!"

"What the hell happened here?"

The students who had rushed to the sound of the scream were confused and startled, hesitating about what to do.

Liam didn’t hesitate. Ysabella was injured, and she needed to be attended to—fast.

He imdiately rushed to her side, hoisting her up and lifting her in a princess carry.

"Make way, everyone. Please!"

There was panic and concern in his voice as he rushed her to the school infirmary.

A few students followed him, but most stayed behind to watch Gaga and the dead staff.

The boy looked at everyone present, his gold eyes glinting ominously.

"I killed. So what?"

There was a mont of stunned silence, and then, Tyler stepped forward.

"Why... why did you kill him?"

He already had an inkling, but he wanted to confirm from Gaga himself.

"You want to know? I heard that blonde girl scream, and I ca over, finding this piece of shit trying to harm her. Then I just grabbed him and punched him till he died."

His tone was plain and devoid of nervousness. He didn’t act like he had just killed a human. Instead, he acted like he had just done sothing trivial.

The surrounding students instantly began whispering.

"Do you think he’s telling the truth?"

"Of course he is. Didn’t you hear? A junior told that a yoghurt clerk attacked one of his classmates yesterday night."

"Eh? Then it happened again today? Why would this trash cleaner attack Ysabella, though?"

"You know she’s quite popular. Maybe he proposed to her and got rejected?"

"Or perhaps he tried to rape her. After all, with the limiter, she’s almost as helpless as a normal human."

Instantly, speculations were made, and everyone began spreading their own versions of the story.

However, one thing was undeniable. Gaga had killed a person.

"Excuse ."

A calm authoritative voice washed over everyone, and they turned to see President Anthony arriving at the scene with a few security officers.

The blindfolded upperclassman looked at the dead body with a frown, then shifted his gaze to Gaga.

"You killed him?"

The black-haired boy nodded.

"Alright," President Anthony turned around, facing the security n. "Please handle the body. Gaga, follow ."

The ’cri scene’ soon dispersed. With the President leaving with the supposed ’murderer’, the witnesses imdiately spread out to inform the others.

The only things remaining were Ysabella’s blood and the dead worker’s blood on the ground.

A hooded figure stepped into the scene, their features hidden beneath the hood.

After surveying the environnt for a few seconds, they disappeared into the night.

anwhile, President Anthony had imdiately taken Gaga to the school building and inford the student council mbers of an ergency eting.

"Have you relayed information to the instructors?"

He asked, keeping his steps straight as they headed towards the Student Council office.

Beside him, Reas nodded. "I already sent a ssage and alerted them. They should join us too."

She took a sneaky glance at Gaga who looked completely carefree.

He hadn’t even untied the bloodstained handkerchief from his hand, still wearing it as he followed behind them.

On the path they had walked, the handkerchief left a trail of blood visible for all to see.

By the ti they reached the Student Council office, Instructor Rutherford and Instructor Steve were already there.

"Please co in," President Anthony said curtly, ushering them into the room.

The night was bound to be hectic.
