The angel was faceless. It didn’t have eyes, ears, nose, or even a mouth. The only defining structure was the crescent mark on its forehead.

’A moon angel?’

Kaiser thought, then ignored it. At the mont, all priority was set at destroying this statue.

He stepped forward, his blade falling from up high. Two pairs of wings snapped up, stopping the blade.

Kaiser released the hilt, throwing two rapid punches. The angel blocked with its hands, forcing him back by several steps.

Anna stopped him with a palm, her face determined. "Let’s break this thing together."

Kaiser gave an almost imperceptible nod, then joined his Shadows in fighting the angel.

Cursed Knight fought the strongest. Her attacks were heavy, even making the statue strain. The Bottom Arachnid only acted as a distraction. Its multiple legs shot rapidly, forcing the angel to be on constant defensive.

Alex also joined the fray, her arrows raining onto the angel like javelins.

"Explosion!"

The arrowheads exploded, producing a loud bang and roaring flas. The others stepped back from the intense heat, shielding their faces.

Whoosh!

Suddenly, a violent gust of wind burst from within the explosion, dispersing the flas.

The angel revealed itself, all six wings opened wide. It didn’t have a single scratch or dent, looking as pristine as it had always been.

Anna gritted her teeth and charged forward. She activated her ability, turning into a two-ter-tall giant. Her spear also enlarged, the top glinting silver.

"Die!"

She roared, stabbing her weapon at it. The blade split apart the air, instantly arriving before its target.

Pa!

The angel stretched out a hand, easily stopping the spear in place. Anna grunted, as the sudden interruption sent a jolt through her.

Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!

Alex’s arrows closed in at that mont, bypassing Anna’s large figure, and heading straight towards the angel. It simply flapped its wings, using the wind to blow them away.

From the left and right flank, Cursed Knight and Kaiser attacked simultaneously. Their blades reached its side, but failed to penetrate its skin.

’Ineffective.’

Kaiser imdiately dismissed the sword, then began targeting its joints. If they couldn’t physically overpower it, then they had to hinder it until injuries stacked.

Feeling his essence reserves reduced by more than half, he imdiately dismissed the Shadows. As helpful as they might be, he couldn’t leave himself stranded and without essence.

As Alex’s arrow struck its shoulder, Kaiser kicked at its legs. The hit shook it slightly, though Kaiser felt more pain.

However, the intended effect had been achieved. Anna’s spear slipped past its wings, striking its torso heavily.

The stone statue was pushed back, fine cracks appearing on it. However, the cracks healed in seconds.

Anna’s eyes widened in horror. ’It’s being repaired that fast?’

She gritted her teeth, knowing this fight couldn’t be dragged on. Nights in the Aether Skies were short, and if they fought till daybreak, everything would be for naught.

The angel covered itself with its wings, then suddenly snapped them open. A mighty crushing wind blew the cohort of three away, sending them tumbling across the ground.

Kaiser got up imdiately, while Alex forced herself to her knees. A trickle of blood ran down the side of her head.

"Watch out!"

Anna shouted, throwing herself before the team with her shield raised. From the angel’s crescent mark, a sharp beam of light sliced towards them.

It struck Anna’s shield, pushing the giant woman back by ters. By the ti the beam receded, Anna’s shield had been twisted into a mangled lump of tal. Steam hissed from its crumpled figure, and she had to discard it.

"Big Sis!" Alex ran forward to check on her sister, worry in her eyes.

Kaiser remained at the back, staring at the angel statue.

’It is a part of the island—therefore a part of its chanism.’ Sothing glinted in his eyes. ’If I sever my connection to the island for a mont, would it...?’

He unsheathed Virtuous Sorrow, then entered a mont of self-perception.

’Freedom from this Island’s chanism.’

He didn’t feel any special sensation, but Kaiser felt his essence drain rapidly. He imdiately moved, lunging at the angel who was preparing another light beam.

The angel didn’t react to his presence as he turned behind it. His sword flashed, and he completely severed one of its wings.

The sudden attack disrupted the angel’s preparation. It stumbled, one wing falling to the ground and shattering.

"Anna, pin it." Kaiser said in a low voice, appearing between the two sisters.

"What?" The woman turned towards him, shocked. Moving close to the angel ant being at the risk of great danger.

"Do it." Kaiser said flatly, adding cursed essence into his speech.

The command slipped into Anna’s mind, and she imdiately rushed towards it with a huff.

’Eh?’ Alex watched her sister with a confused expression. ’She agreed?’

"You. Target the crescent mark on its head." He said without turning to her.

Since her sister was already engaged, she followed his orders and picked up her bow from the ground.

Her red eyes narrowed, locking onto the crescent mark on the angel’s head.

Her arm moved back, drawing the string taut. She controlled her breathing, then fired the shot.

The bone arrow streaked through the air, its sharp edge spinning as it shot forward.

Anna grappled the angel with her large fra, pulling two of its wings. She pinned it to the ground, overpowering it for a mont.

Alex’s arrow arrived at that instant, striking the crescent mark accurately.

Surprisingly, the shot successfully created a crack in the mark. Soft silver light spilled from the crack, like blood.

Alex’s eyes widened, as her attack had successfully injured the angel. Before she could revel in the joy of her little victory, she saw Anna’s figure being yanked off the angel.

It smashed her into a pillar in the distance, then turned towards Alex.

As it stepped towards her, sothing fell from the sky.

Kaiser locked his legs around its neck, feeling his essence almost completely drained. The angel still didn’t react to his presence.

Cradling the head in his hand, he stabbed it with his sword.

Light spilled from the wound as the stone head broke apart.
