It had been nearly a century since anyone had seen Lind Frey. Small scuffles had cropped up aside from the massive attack by the Silverthorn Fangs in that ti. Delenn had cented her power once more and reminded all those looking at the Frey Clan in greed the kind of power hidden away.
There was also another change no one could explain.
The Fiends had suddenly pulled back a decade ago. Sothing scared them but the fear of a massive attack also was expected by many of the strategists running the forces around their territory.
As more ti passed, the more confusion spread. Why were the Fiends so quiet?
There was sothing else Immortals noticed as the years passed since the silence of the Fiends.
The Laws felt weird. There was no better description.
Before, Laws were of varying strength and density but now they seed to be like sifting water with their bare hands. While so had always struggled, even the 6 elentals that seed to explode with potential as they reached each new realm, reported the sa thing!
It was also getting worse as ti passed!
Were the Celestial Fields about to suffer a new Cataclysm?
Only a very few beings knew what was going on.
Feng was smiling as she could feel the laws of Fire and Life were so faint to her.
"Soon, it should be very soon." The smile on her small face was a mystery but a cough drew her eyes. She brushed her fiery hair aside as a young woman with amber eyes and dark hair stood at the entrance of her courtyard.
The sword on her back and white battle dress easily marked who it was. She was often in crimson and gold in public but when not on duty, she still preferred white.
"Lady Fey, how may I help you?" The Mistress of Life and Death was a terrifying warrior. Feng had seen many humans have an incredible grasp of Laws and Qi to an extent that put many divine bloodlines to sha.
Still, she was the first true disciple of Lind Frey and it showed. Only his own children could match her in potency and they had his bloodline to help them!
"I have not been able to find anything in the library nor with the seniors that had survived the Cataclysm. The phenonon is occurring across the entire Celestial Fields, but it does not feel dangerous. What is it?" Fey did not dally. Her voice was commanding and her intent made it nearly impossible to resist her words.
Feng smiled but touched a bracelet on her left wrist as wards went up at the peak of mid grade 7!
Fey did not blink but moved closer and ca into the sunlight as it ca down through the open roof of the courtyard. The green grass swayed in the gentle breeze pulled in by the formations.
It made it a very comfortable place.
Feng was sitting in the lotus position at the heart of it and Fey joined her.
"It is hard to explain but I think it is spread so far this ti due to the fact it will be the first since the Celestial Fields recovered. Normally it is not like this." Fey's eyes narrowed but nodded as she was glad she was finally going to get answers.
"What is it?" Feng smiled and cald her heart.
"Do not focus on the Laws or the Qi, try to feel just Heaven and Earth. Immortals can feel this more easily for obvious reasons." Feng closed her eyes and let her aura spread for Fey to observe.
She quickly felt Fey mimic her perfectly. She was an astounding student in that respect. Even after thousands of years, she easily picked up things as if she was still a young student! The odds of Lind finding such a unique person was nearly impossible so it was far more likely his teaching thod opened her mind in ways no one fully grasped.
It still relied on Fey grasping that opportunity but the results spoke for themselves. Fey was nearly at the peak of the high Shard Tier!
That kind of speed stunned Feng more for the fact Fey had no other factors aside from her mind and training to reach that plateau!
Feng waited as it would take ti for the woman in front of her to sift through the Laws and Qi to just feel the presence of Heaven and Earth. It was not a simple thing but all Immortals could do it if they tried.
Normally, there was nothing much to feel unless a massive disturbance was ongoing. Feng smiled as she knew there was more to it this ti too, but waited until she saw Fey's eyes shoot open in shock!
"Happy, Heaven and Earth are happy?! Why?!" Feng shrugged her shoulders. Explaining it was not possible. It was not a consistent sensation as more often than not Heaven and Earth would not give a damn about what cultivators did so long as the rules were not broken.
"The closest similar feeling I can give you is when I breakthrough into a major realm. Rather than challenge , Heaven and Earth celebrate it. Lightning dances around
and pushes
easily to the next step." Fey nodded as Mother Ethry had told her a similar thing several tis.
She had seen it too, but then a thought occurred to her!
"Father! It is Father!" Feng was not sure about that. It was the most likely explanation with all the other effects but no one existed in a vacuum.
"It could be but other Immortals could be doing sothing to trigger the sa result." It was true. Lind was not the only Immortal that had pulled back in the last thousand years. So were simply washing their hands of the conflicts as they had little ti left or were possibly making an Inheritance like he had gone to do.
How long an Immortal took to make their Inheritance was unknown too. Generally, the more complex, the more ti it would take. Feng would not be surprised if it took 10,000 years before Lind returned.
She wondered if he would be jealous to not be first if it was not him. She doubted it. He was a fair man in most aspects.
She was about to say more when both shot to their feet. Pressure began to build but it did not feel like a tribulation nor a punishnt. There were no clouds either!
Yet the pressure was there!
Both shot to the sky and were joined by many other Immortals. All looked to the west and a bit north where the very edge of their perceptions was distorted.
Space was being transford as a massive arch appeared! It solidified as a wheezing noise was heard rising in crescendo until it hit the climax with a hard thump!
The arch was made of sparkling white stone but Feng felt a shock flow in her heart looking at it as at the top of the arch was a symbol they all knew!
A sinuous dragon with 3 horns and a large main was coiled at the very peak!
A 100 years! It only took him a 100 years?!
That arch alone would take an expert refiner at least 10 to 20 years alone from what she could feel!
The skies suddenly swapped from bright blue to the night sky! The stars twinkled in joy as elental Qi solidified with Laws returning like a storm! The Heavens had been awakened!
The roar of beasts in all directions snapped Feng out of her trance and she noticed beams of light arcing across the sky from the arch!
What was going on? Was it calling candidates already?!
She then saw it touch Fey in one of the beams! The woman glowed with a profound light and a smile spread on her face as she broke through to the low peak Shard Tier right in front of her!
It was like it was nothing for the human woman at that mont!
A massive dragon roar shook the sky as a gigantic projection of an erald dragon rose out of the arch!
[The Harmonic Inheritance is now open. It will open near Frey City in 10,000 years. Those that have received my blessing already learned from
most of their lives. If you t the conditions, the Inheritance resonated with you. Spread the word to the lower realms as well. If the conditions are t, it may go looking for candidates to benefit from it. The conditions are for you all to learn.]
Lind's voice reached them all and the Heavens suddenly split open in a blinding light. Pure joy was felt as Heaven and Earth rejoiced. Dragons of pure Qi enhanced by Laws appeared.
They were the ancestral dragons! The First Dragons!
Feng knew it instinctively and bowed low quickly. She knew all beasts that lived were bowing and likely most other races.
The dragons all roared and Lind rely looked up before he seed to smile.
[Thank you for the honor, spirits. The first Inheritance since the Cataclysm is open!]
The daylight returned and the dragons vanished with the arch. It was again a wheezing sound for so reason but it was fading away rather than getting louder.
Feng slowly looked up and at the very edge of her aura was a shocking sight.
Lind Frey floated in his crimson robes with his erald hair flying in the wind but his aura was midway through the peak of the Shard Tier! He had left at the mid Shard Tier only 100 years ago!
Fey had been stunning but Lind's speed should be impossible!
The profound aura coming off of him was solid as the tallest mountain! He had not rushed his advance yet how could he have co so far in only a century while building an Inheritance?!
The man tore through space but Feng could not follow him. She had no idea where he went but could guess. She almost felt pity for their prisoner. Almost.
