Lind pulled the pair back from the valley as he contemplated what they had discovered. Their options were few and ti was not on their side.

He had only co across scraps in archives and various libraries but he had heard of so legends of Ruins that were found in the void. It was always an accident or so attempt to make a new teleportation array but it did happen.

No one knew why they fell into the void and survived as even the distortion field should be bled dry by the Void but only 1 realm Inheritance could survive there. Divine Inheritances.

Heaven and Immortal Inheritances were never heard of to be in the void, just Divine. Given what he had experienced in them, he could actually believe that the power of the Divine Realm could persist in the void for a long ti.

It was clear it would still break down, it would just take longer.

The Relic was still incredibly powerful but even he could tell it was just about to collapse into the Immortal Realm for power. That was very bad.

It could take millennia or it could be tomorrow, but if that Relic collapsed he suspected the very ground they stood on would be sure to follow. The crystals he saw could be used to help stave off that event as well.

Still, he had a few questions. A Relic in the void was one thing, but it just so happens to act as a teleportation array to sowhere.

Further, where did it go? It should only be tied to the Divine Inheritance it had been constructed for. He could absolutely believe a Divine Inheritance having trials so far apart to need teleportation to get around.

"L–lord Frey?" Lina's voice shook him from his reverie. He saw she had actually improved! Just getting close to the Relic helped her stabilize a bit.

A sudden thought ca to him.

"Do you still have access to your Spiritwalker senses?" She tilted her head but closed her eyes. Swear broke out on her brow but then her eyes shot wide as she looked down.

"Sothing is in pain!" That normally would be a given but the direction was not in any of the factories.

"How far?" She shook her head as she had no way of knowing. Unlike him, her training as a Spiritwalker was limited. He had not helped her at all and guilt washed over him for that. All the consequences of his actions were coming ho to roost!

Still, he had a direction and his draconic senses were working just fine. He closed his eyes and let his sense of sll try to find anything now that he knew what to look for. The faint traces of Laws ca from the valley but he also turned to the south and felt sothing even weaker that way.

He quickly picked up Lina and carved through space in little jumps. They quickly went back into the factories and narrow streets until they suddenly ca to the edge of oblivion. There was just nothing beyond that edge.

At least, there was supposed to be nothing.

Lind narrowed his erald eyes in shock! There were dark shapes he could just barely make out with his naked eyes. There was no light so the only way he could be seeing them was because there were shimrs of light he recognized as random spikes of Qi.

There were more Relics in the void!

He set Lina down on the cracked soil they stood on. It was solid but clearly showed signs of recent crumbling. The factories had recent repairs showing they had once extended farther out from where they stood.

He looked at his arm and realized his robes were just useless rags now. He then extended his hand beyond the edge. His harmony flared and scales appeared on his arm.

He felt pain but it was endurable. He was about to pull his hand back in when he froze. Very faint traces ca from below to repair his arm!

He looked down quickly and saw a darker spot far below the surface.

He doubted the Fiends even knew about it but that was not what was important. There was a Relic down there!

He glanced at Lina and knew the next step would be insane by any standard.

"There is an entrance leaking Laws. It indicates another Relic and the source of the pain you spoke of. There is only one way to get there without alerting the Fiends." Lina looked at the inky darkness and shivered. She was terrified, rightly so.

Still, she swallowed and took his hand. He smiled as he pulled her close.

They then stepped off the edge. It would be suicide for many, but erald scales swiftly covered his body but blood poured from Lina. She whimpered but that was all.

He could not do much but once he accurately saw the entrance, space was ripped apart. It was much harder than the surface but he quickly slamd into a thicker sliver of air that caused them to tumble head over heels onto a bare stone path.

A path, not a cavern.

Lina was heaving as the pain was likely harsh but they had no supplies as they would not survive so they could only recover slowly. Yet, a refreshing breeze invigorated his ridians and dantian.

Her bestial features actually visibly receded as the flow of elental Qi flowed into their bodies.

The pair assud a lotus position as they cultivated and recovered slowly to their peak.

The hunger and thirst receded so Lind took a deep breath and felt humbled. Immortals were so invincible to mortals but without Qi, they were not that different.

They both looked deeper into the darkness before moving away from the entrance. Moist air and moss with other underground life beca more apparent as they moved deeper.

Lind was amazed as he could not identify the violet moss. He had a wide breadth of herbs and other knowledge for his elixirs alone so how could he not recognize a plant?

The worms and other life forms seed simple but not a single one was familiar! They found the stone slabs becoming paler until they turned into white tiles that were more real than anything either had seen.

Lind was used to it but Lina was shocked as she felt awed by what she saw. He had not asked her to use her senses again as there was no point.

There was no deviation on the path as they moved ever downward until they ca to a towering set of doors.

They were 20 ters tall and split down the middle with shapes carved into each. It was not a weaving or formation but words. Lina could not look at them but Lind could.

What he saw took ti to translate but it made no sense.

"Lord Frey, can we use this to escape?" Her question made him shake his head.

"No. I think the source of pain is behind these doors. This is not part of the Inheritance or Ruin. This is intentional." She heard his anger as his knuckles cracked.

{Source chamber: Subject contained. Do not open.}

It was clearly a warning of so kind but no signature was on it. Whoever built the chamber never had to explain who they were.

"I think the reason those islands exist are more chambers like these. Only 1 thing can persist for so long." He had been wrong. It was not the Relic sustaining the island, it was whatever was sealed away.

There was no latch or normal lock present. He was unsure what principle sealed the doors at all but they had no choice but to open it.

He examined the walls nearby and noticed an indentation that only barely stood out. He looked on the opposite side and saw an identical indentation. It did not matter what was supposed to be there, he had no material to work with afterall, but he did have one thing he could do.

"Stay behind ." He began to engrave swiftly in the air around him with both hands. His fingers blurred with erald lines until simple weavings took shape. Solid objects coalesced that neatly fit into each indentation.

Pain lanced through his mind but he carefully altered his weavings until a thud was heard. He had picked the lock, so to speak.

"You can made grade 8 weavings?!" Her voice perked up but he shook his head.

"Anything can be defeated by assumptions. Many cultivators advanced under flawed elental theories and left gaps even at the Divine Realm. I simply abused those gaps." It was far more complicated but it was the easiest way to explain.

In truth, he could use his Talents again and vaguely sense the rough shape he needed. After that, he altered the weavings to match what the doors wanted. It was not easy but it did not require his understanding.

Law grade weavings were his only recourse and they worked. If they had not, he would have tried sothing else.

The doors began to vanish rather than swing open. He was shocked as the process defied his understanding until a chamber was exposed.

The instant it was, a wave of pure Laws and Qi flowed over them. It felt so much better than anywhere in the Celestial Fields he had been!

What was the source of all that power?
