Just as Hestia was about to move forward and embrace her son, she hesitated, wondering if Jayden was angry at her or believed that she had abandoned him. So, she could only wait for him to speak.
"Uh, it's good to see you… Mom," Jayden said, finding it a bit awkward to refer to her like that. After eting his mother in such a long ti, he was finding it a bit weird.
But on the other hand, as soon as Jayden spoke, Hestia's heart leaped in happiness.
She was finally sure that he wasn't angry with her or anything. Knowing the circumstances, there wasn't much she could have done; just being able to survive till now seed like an impossible task.
Her eyes filled with tears as she caressed Jayden's face before embracing him, sobbing slightly and feeling bad that she wasn't able to see him grow up. Jayden had such a difficult childhood, and he struggled a lot just to survive. It pained her heart knowing that her son had to go through all that.
"Jayden, sob… forgive your mother, I- I had no choice but to send you away from when you were just born, sob... y- your father… he d- died while protecting you and many others protected you till their last breath, sob.
I am happy that you at least managed to survive and have such a big and happy family," Hestia sobbed in the midst of speaking, letting her tears fall onto his clothes.
"…" Jayden slowly raised his arms and comfortingly placed them on her back, sensing her emotions. Finally, he felt the reality of this mont. He held no bad feelings towards her and had acknowledged her as his mother. Now, he was all she had.
He thanked all the people who protected him and felt sad that so many had to sacrifice themselves just for that one task.
He would have loved to bring them back to life, but it was impossible even for him. Over such a large period of ti, they must have already entered the reincarnation cycle and been born as soone completely different.
"Mom… Everything will be fine now. I don't hate or resent you. Let's live together from now on. You can do whatever you want and enjoy your life. None of what happened was your responsibility, and the ones who were responsible have already been punished.
So don't be sad anymore. Isn't it a happy occasion? Our entire family has co together after so long," Jayden said in a soothing voice, caressing her smooth, long green hair, feeling closer to her as all the awkwardness seed to disappear already.
"Mhmm, yes, it is a happy occasion, and it seems I will soon be a grandmother. Suddenly, I feel a little older," Hestia giggled slightly in his arms, finally feeling at ease.
"Don't worry, you look young and beautiful… but do you want to beco a vampire?" Jayden asked. Dragons live a very long life, but at one point, their life will co to an end. But that isn't the case with vampires, as they can go on to live forever unless killed by outside sources.
"…" Hestia remained silent for a few seconds. This was a big decision, after all. If it wasn't for the knowledge of Jayden being alive, otherwise, she might have succumbed to grief after losing so much. She wanted to spend as much ti with him as possible, but Hestia wondered if she really wanted to live forever like this.
After a couple of minutes in his warm and comfortable arms, Hestia finally made her decision.
"I think it would be better if I don't.
You should focus on your family from now on. Everything that happened is already in the past. I am already happy to spend more ti with you, so—" Hestia spoke, her expression peaceful.
"Alright then, it is decided. We will do as you say. Along with Sydney, Sana, Luna, and the others, you will beco a vampire of my family. Don't worry, it won't be painful," Jayden said as he pulled back from the hug and looked at his mother's face with a smile.
"Huh? Did you not hear ? I ant—" Hestia looked back at him in surprise. Although she was sad with her decision that at so point she would have to leave him, Hestia felt that was for the best. Her ti had already passed, and she didn't want to be a disturbance in his life.
"Throw away those useless thoughts. We have just t, and there is a lot we have to experience together. I am sure we will get closer in the future.
So, I wouldn't want you to just leave . You are not unneeded or a disturbance. Of course, if you just want to leave , then you should do that before we get close, or I would be too sad," Jayden spoke, his expression turning serious.
"No, no, I don't want that… fine then, I will do as you want, so don't be angry," Hestia nodded, smiling a little.
"That's good then. Let's talk more later," Jayden said, gazing into his mother's eyes before looking toward the other won who were all waiting for him.
From Layla, Aya, Ada, Liling, Hecate, Jia, Sophie, to even all the won that Jayden had brought along with Mulan, all of them were looking at him with joyful gazes, happy and excited to have him back in their lives.
Jayden then moved towards Xiao, hugging her and speaking words of love to her, and then found himself hugging Lao, the beautiful lady who had remained a pillar for everyone in the sad and depressing tis.
One by one, Jayden moved to all the won: Layla, Ivy, Eleanor. He hugged them all one by one, giving enough ti to each but also leaving for later; after all, now they had all the ti in the world to catch up properly. The atmosphere was lively and cheerful as all the won selfishly took their ti with him.
It took Jayden quite a long ti to greet all of them. Even though it was brief, that would have to do for now. They planned to have deep and thorough greetings over the course of the next few days.
Soon after Jayden was done, he sensed the presence of a few people near his house. Before leaving, he looked at Xero and Viser, smiling slightly. He spoke:
"Both of you have done great. Viser, it seems you are finally getting ready to enjoy the joys of love life. Good luck. And Xero, congratulations on getting married. Now that you have more responsibility on your shoulders, start acting like a grown-up."
"Thank you, master," Viser replied with a smile. It appeared he was slowly changing too, for the good.
"Of course, boss, who could be more responsible than ? I am already thinking about the future. I was wondering if I had a child in the future—should I na them sothing badass like 'Voidreaper X' or 'Oblivion Thunderwrath' or maybe 'Dreadfang Bloodhowl'?
Hmmm… I am still conflicted, but if it is a girl, then I will…" Xero continued to spout his nonsense as Jayden shook his head.
He glanced and nodded at Karen, who stood beside Xero, sighing at his childish behavior. Then, she smiled and responded with a nod.
