As Du You moved, clusters of Carrion Dark Scarabs appeared amidst the piles of corpses, so flying off into the distance, and others began nibbling on the corpses right there, multiplying profusely.
It wasn’t long before traces of beetles appeared on the corpses that surrounded the entire Imperial Capital. In many places, one could already see these black beetles flying in and out, and the scene grew increasingly spectacular.
Du You looked up at the sky above the Imperial Capital, where a surge of power was violently agitating. "Do you feel it? But it was certain that the wizard had used sothing dangerous.
"We can’t wait any longer, Your Majesty, we must act now, or there will be no chance."
The Emperor hesitated, but the situation quickly left him no ti to doubt. As corpses started collapsing one by one, a vast swarm of black beetles suddenly soared into the air. Not even bones were left behind at the original locations of the corpses.
Everything edible had been devoured by the beetles. With the corpses as a cover, it was not noticeable. But as the beetles took flight, they covered the sky—a terrifying vast swath of them.
These beetles were no ordinary enemies; the weapons they had prepared had no effect on the beetles.
The beetles pounced and began to bite the soldiers. The soldiers tried to swat them away, but the beetles were too resilient to be killed by re slapping. Soon, beetles burrowed into the bodies of the soldiers, who then began to scream frantically.
They threw their weapons away and scratched desperately at their bodies, gouging deep bloody marks, which made for a very bloody scene.
But monts later, the soldiers stopped moving. After a while, their skin was torn open, and a multitude of insects erged. In an instant, the soldiers were left with no skin, only a vast number of new black beetles.
"Run, these are devils, it’s the devil’s punishnt for us!" the soldiers finally broke down.
By then, even the supervisory war team was useless, probably running even faster. So soldiers, utterly panicked, jumped from the city wall and died instantly as they crashed at the base of the wall.
As the beetles began devouring the people in the city, their rate of proliferation increased rapidly. They knew that all the people were nourishnt for the growth and reproduction of these beetles.
"This evil wizard had already prepared such sinister magic."
The ministers were pale, and the entire city was the sa. The spread was rapid, and there was no way they could escape.
So, driven to despair, preferred to kill themselves rather than be bitten to death by the beetles. At that mont, the number of suicides in the city began to skyrocket, especially among those who had beetles pounce on them.
When the beetles flew to the skyscrapers at the very center of the city, even the emperor was not spared.

If they were all surrounded, Du You wouldn’t survive, and he didn’t want to be killed by a dying counterattack from the enemy.
