As Du You moved, clusters of Carrion Dark Scarabs appeared amidst the piles of corpses, so flying off into the distance, and others began nibbling on the corpses right there, multiplying profusely.

It wasn’t long before traces of beetles appeared on the corpses that surrounded the entire Imperial Capital. In many places, one could already see these black beetles flying in and out, and the scene grew increasingly spectacular.

Du You looked up at the sky above the Imperial Capital, where a surge of power was violently agitating. "Do you feel it? Although the power of the world’s will is strong, it cannot be fully mobilized; otherwise, the world would collapse. The previous actions should have been its last counterattack. Now the power that the world’s will can use is not much, not enough to make any difference."

Just as Du You thought, the world’s will, although constantly fluctuating and escalating with terrifying power, made no further moves, as the power it could utilize was too little.

"Look quickly; those corpses seem to be moving." Suddenly, a voice shattered the silence on the city walls.

The people looked over and indeed noticed that many corpses were stirring, and the movent grew increasingly apparent.

"What are those insects? The wizard’s magic must be ready, isn’t it?" a minister said with an ugly expression. At this mont, any change would make them skittish like frightened birds.

The destruction of the previous two empires was still vivid in their minds, and now it was their turn. It was absolutely impossible to say Du You lacked the power to destroy them. But now, as the enemy neither sent those golden creatures to attack directly nor unleashed a sky-full of black fireballs, everyone was sowhat perplexed by this new developnt.

But it was certain that the wizard had used sothing dangerous.

"We can’t wait any longer, Your Majesty, we must act now, or there will be no chance."

The Emperor hesitated, but the situation quickly left him no ti to doubt. As corpses started collapsing one by one, a vast swarm of black beetles suddenly soared into the air. Not even bones were left behind at the original locations of the corpses.

Everything edible had been devoured by the beetles. With the corpses as a cover, it was not noticeable. But as the beetles took flight, they covered the sky—a terrifying vast swath of them.

These beetles were no ordinary enemies; the weapons they had prepared had no effect on the beetles.

The beetles pounced and began to bite the soldiers. The soldiers tried to swat them away, but the beetles were too resilient to be killed by re slapping. Soon, beetles burrowed into the bodies of the soldiers, who then began to scream frantically.

They threw their weapons away and scratched desperately at their bodies, gouging deep bloody marks, which made for a very bloody scene.

But monts later, the soldiers stopped moving. After a while, their skin was torn open, and a multitude of insects erged. In an instant, the soldiers were left with no skin, only a vast number of new black beetles.

"Run, these are devils, it’s the devil’s punishnt for us!" the soldiers finally broke down.

By then, even the supervisory war team was useless, probably running even faster. So soldiers, utterly panicked, jumped from the city wall and died instantly as they crashed at the base of the wall.

As the beetles began devouring the people in the city, their rate of proliferation increased rapidly. They knew that all the people were nourishnt for the growth and reproduction of these beetles.

"This evil wizard had already prepared such sinister magic."

The ministers were pale, and the entire city was the sa. The spread was rapid, and there was no way they could escape.

So, driven to despair, preferred to kill themselves rather than be bitten to death by the beetles. At that mont, the number of suicides in the city began to skyrocket, especially among those who had beetles pounce on them.

When the beetles flew to the skyscrapers at the very center of the city, even the emperor was not spared.

The Tian Gang Martial Artists here erupted with their own Gang Qi, which was the only thing that could envelop their bodies and protect them from being bitten to death by the beetles. But such eruptions couldn’t last long.

"Fight now, I will protect His Majesty and get him out," the Martial God finally could no longer bear it, burst forth with his Gang Qi, and tried to escape with the emperor. Those who could only burst once exchanged looks of complete despair.

They could only fight once, but now they had no choice but to make a move. These temporary Martial Gods erupted with their power, indifferent to their surroundings, and rushed towards Du You.

They had barely covered so distance when soone in despair discovered that the enemy was gone. "Where is the wizard? How can he just disappear? It’s impossible; when did he leave?"

By then, Du You had already secretly moved away with the two sisters. These Tian Gang Martial Artists were using Martial God Holy Water, and no one knew how long it could last. If they were all surrounded, Du You wouldn’t survive, and he didn’t want to be killed by a dying counterattack from the enemy.

"This is bad, these beetles can massively deplete our Gang Qi; it’s draining too quickly." The faces of the crowd changed suddenly; from the looks of it, their Gang Qi wouldn’t even last long enough to leave the city.

The beetles beca more nurous, and a massive swarm of beetles recklessly converged on them. There was nothing they could do but let the beetles devour their Gang Qi; dying would co even faster. They could only use their own Gang Qi to consolidate and frantically wield their weapons. Before the beetles got close, they tried to exterminate them.

But this only allowed them to hold on a little longer; they still couldn’t save themselves.

On the other side, the emperor, protected by the Martial God, was already penetrated by beetles due to his depleted Gang Qi. Watching the emperor in agony, the Martial God’s face turned exceptionally grim, for there was nothing he could do.

Gang Qi is a destructive force and couldn’t help him dispel the beetles inside his body.

The Martial God, turning around with a glare, no longer ran but lunged in the direction of Du You as he rembered.

In the midst of the fight, a temporary Martial God suddenly shouted, his body’s power swelling, instantly recovering. One after another, the sa happened to others.

It turned out that under these circumstances, many had broken through to the Martial God Realm.

Five continuous breakthroughs were truly spectacular. Under normal circumstances, they would be extrely joyous because this signified they had broken free from the shackles of Martial God Holy Water, survived, and even beco true Martial Gods.

But in the current situation, where they could see nothing but black beetles around them, fear and despair had already filled their hearts.
