The stead-up Quicksand soldiers could only continue their charge forward. The Sandpeople with small figures that could have entered the underground tunnels perished as soon as they entered, after being shot by the Shadow Shooters.
"Our tunnels are exceptionally made, albeit too few. If we had more, we would definitely have given those Sandpeople a thrashing. If we had been able to build slits to provide cover for our archers to shoot from within, it would have been even better." Du You found this Otherworld form of tunnel warfare quite effective, even more so than on original earth.
Because his enemies only got bigger the higher their level.

Priests are relatively weak; the larger the battlefield, the less effective they are. The greatest utility of priests is to augnt the overall power of an army and jointly cast so particular magic spells.
Apparently, these priests had not prepared any special magic spells, otherwise, they would have begun casting them already.
Just then, the leading Quicksand soldiers had already charged past the Quicksand trap area, and were rushing towards the city wall.
Fengcao fiercely struck the city wall with his blade. But the runes on the wall suddenly lit up, completely blocking the emitted Dou Qi. The backlash of energy made Fengcao retreat several steps.

When the runes on the wall lit up, the priests succumbed to astonishnt as though they had seen sothing unthinkable. The Rune City Wall was, after all, an exclusive technology of the Sandpeople.

No doubt the Magic Array is a very strong and holistic defense asure, but it also has drawbacks. The main issue is that it is cumberso to set up and consus a vast amount of Magic Power. While the Magic Array offers formidable defense capabilities, it is better suited for larger cities. As far as smaller cities are concerned, it’s not as practical as the Sandpeople’s Rune Magic Array. It is cheaper, consus less, and does not require continuous energy.
But the idea that their exclusive technology has been emulated by the humans, who had applied it even more effectively, was beyond belief for them.
What the Sandpeople didn’t understand was that Du You, a Professional, had obtained it directly from the treasure chest of their destroyed city. Be it Rune City Wall or any other technology, Du You was capable of acquiring it.
And due to the special conditions of his territory, he could put any newly acquired knowledge into use right away.
Fengcao clearly underestimated this fact, leading to his continuous futile assaults on the city wall until he eventually turned his attention elsewhere. At this point, other Quicksand soldiers had already rushed towards the walls.
Due to the restricted ti fra, the city wall erected on the barren ground was only a little over three ters high, instead of the typical seven ters, allowing the Quicksand soldiers to get close to the top of the wall with a single leap.
However, their celebration was short-lived as they were t with enemies resembling canned iron. These warriors, clad in full gear, were as tough as iron turtles.
If their strength was lesser than the enemy’s, their attacks could, at best, wound the opponent and leave a scar on their armor.
But when faced with the Level 16 heavily-ard soldiers, their attacks were utterly useless. Even without their Dou Qi defense, at most, they would leave a shallow scar. If the Dou Qi defense were activated, the opponent would be invulnerable.
To make matters worse, the enemy’s counterattack posed a significant threat.
Each casual strike, devoid of any particular skill or overwhelming power, was sufficient to inflict injuries. It didn’t matter under normal circumstances, but now, it was suffocating. They couldn’t wound the enemy, yet they could be injured at any mont.
The Sandpeople at the forefront were injured and ridiculed by those behind them. This spurred them to charge at the enemy even more recklessly.
The outco was simple: just like an egg smashing against a rock, they broke imdiately.
Many Quicksand soldiers were severely wounded. The sight of their Level 2 Quicksand soldiers dying off so quickly left Fengcao in disbelief.
"Damnit, since when did the humans beco so difficult to deal with? It must be their sturdy armor. You despicable humans, relying on weapons and equipnt is not a trait of a Brave Warrior!"

Using them for defense, coupled with special formations and other chanisms, the Sandpeople had no ans of retaliation. Those who kept on charging forward faced only death, with no chance of survival.
Now casting a glance at the aerial battlefield, the result was about to be determined. The high-level Griffin Knights far surpassed the Sand Sculpture Knights in strength. On top of that, their armor provided robust defense and their attacks were potent. During the battle, they rely needed to ensure the safety of their Griffins. Only they could harm the Sand Sculpture Knights, whilst their own attacks were generally ignored.
