Once a noble, they, as rchants and slave traders, would have to rely on him. Despite their wealth and influence, they were still inferior compared to nobles — a common situation.
"This is Viscount Du You, our hero of White Stone City. I’m sure you’ve heard of him. His power has increased significantly and he prepares to establish a territory that requires a batch of slaves. You ought to serve him well."
"Oh my, the hero himself is here. Please co in. Whatever type of slave you need, as long as we have them, we will definitely satisfy. Our Big Wind Slave Trade has a variety of slaves. Both types and quantity can et anyone’s requirents."
Du You nodded. This was his first ti seeing a slave market of such scale.
"Master, I hate these people." Lin Yushi communicated to Du You through the panel.
"I hate them too, but it would be troubleso without them. This world operates according to this system. The absence of slaves would be a negative developnt." Du You explained.
Regardless of whether a system is good or bad, it mainly depends on its appropriateness for society. An appropriate system is good, and an inappropriate one is bad, as it would only yield negative effects.

Du You nodded, complinting him a few tis, and watched him leave. After Sakken’s departure, the slave rchants beca visibly friendlier towards Du You, seeing him as a major potential custor.

Du You did not plan for these slaves to procreate, he only wanted a foundation.

The location he chose was a massive valley so deep within the mountains that it seed isolated from the outside world. The rear of the valley was a dead end with only two entrances at the front.
This location was easy to defend but hard to attack. As long as the valley entrances were blocked, outsiders could not enter. That was the reason why Du You chose this location.
Others avoided here because of its barrenness. Most parts of the valley were stone and the surroundings were infertile, rendering it unsuitable for cultivation. No one would choose such a place.
However, this worked in Du You’s favor because he prioritized safety. As for food and other considerations, he could address them with other thods.
