Since he could still use the arrows, Du You decided to keep following them. But first, he needed to rest. He had just killed so many zombies, and the magic power he’d expended hadn’t fully returned.
Who knew how many zombies he might encounter next? After resting for a while, Du You felt mostly replenished and continued forward with Xiaozi and the Dreamy Butterfly.
Behind this stone chamber was more passageways. In such a vast dungeon, he wouldn’t have dared to enter if it were his previous life, fearing the consequence of losing his way. But now, he had his direction markers and an indicator on his panel. As long as he marked every corner, he shouldn’t get lost.
Journeying on, he encountered even more Goblin Zombies. Left with no choice, Du You had to move slowly, killing zombies along the way. After a lengthy trek, he finally reached his destination.
Just looking ahead, he could tell the next chamber was incredibly large.
Du You cautiously advanced and peeked in from a corner. Inside the chamber, there was only one zombie, but it was startlingly huge.
"A tallic Zombie? It’s a level 3 too. Its head is unusually oversized. I wonder if I can handle it."
Du You muttered quietly while observing the layout inside the chamber. It was empty but for a few stalactites. In the middle, there was a stone podium bearing a box which certainly held what he was looking for.
The Dark Elent Stone was a byproduct found alongside various dark-attribute ores, and not particularly essential. Yet, it wouldn’t be easy to find. There were no minerals here, so it was likely purposely left behind by the previous inhabitant.
The notes described the cultivation thod of the Dark Shaper, but it was overly complicated. Using Law Formalization, as long as he completed tasks and invested large amounts of crystal coins, training would be significantly easier and fun. Plus, the potential growth would be even greater than traditional cultivation thods.
This was the true benefit of having a profession for an Awakener.
However, the colossal tallic Zombie next to the stone podium was a bit of a downer for Du You.
The entire body of the tallic Zombie was pitch black, occasionally flashing a tallic gleam. Unlike regular species, zombies were unaffected by the sudden light in the cave.
In Du You’s eyes, the tallic Zombie stood more than three ters tall, almost four he guessed. Its solid muscles and the giant iron hamr it held were unmistakably formidable.
If that kind of force hit him, he’d be toast.
However, the chamber was spacious with plenty of headroom, which ant Xiaozi should be able to fly.
"With Xiaozi’s help, I should stand a good chance. After all, it’s a zombie. Its movents shouldn’t be too fast. The surrounding stone pillars grant an advantage in terrain."
Having co this far, he had no choice but to fight. Du You, inherently adventurous, decided to confront it head-on.
"Xiaozi, take off!" Du You suddenly shouted and jumped out. He reached for his magic staff to launch the Dark Arrow skill at the tallic Zombie.
A dark arrow ford and shot instantly towards the tallic Zombie. The size and speed of this Dark Arrow were noticeably superior to those triggered by the Goblins. Believing it was due to his maxed out basic ditation skill, Du You watched his attack.
As he expected, the zombie’s reaction was slow, much slower than the Dark Arrow.
The black arrow hit the tallic Zombie right in its head. "Yes! Direct hit!"
Despite his cheer, Du You looked grim. The arrow had only made a slight dent in the zombie’s head, black particles from the dark elent were eating away at it, but evidently, it wasn’t a severe wound.
"The defensive strength of this tallic Zombie is really formidable." He muttered, choosing to launch more magic missiles from a distance instead of advancing. His staff didn’t provide any further enhancents but wielding it felt right.
The erosion by the dark energies would take a while before a hole ford in the zombie’s head. Du You could only wait. He would be able to use it again after two minutes.
Just as the tallic Zombie charged towards Du You, Xiaozi launched her attack from above. Dashing about like a lightning strike, Xiaozi scratched across the zombie’s head, emitting sparks.
The zombie swung its iron hamr attempting to repel Xiaozi, but was no match for her. Xiaozi’s attack, however, didn’t seem to harm the zombie either, only leaving scratch marks on it. A loud thud echoed as the hamr hit a stone pillar, breaking off a large chunk of it.
"What a powerful attack. I absolutely must avoid it." Du You tead up with Xiaozi to counter it slowly.
Gradually, the tallic Zombie, unable to catch either of its opponents, let out an enraged roar. The sound wave traveled through the cave, resounding far and wide.
Before long, similar roars from zombies echoed around them. Du You paled dramatically. Looking back, he saw an increasing number of zombies gathering toward the chamber. That was trouble.
"Damn, it can summon underlings. We’ll be in danger if we get surrounded. Xiaozi, you handle it. I’ll deal with the zombies around." These ordinary zombies, once they surrounded him, would pose a greater problem.
His magic power was limited and couldn’t be wasted on these zombies. It seed he would need to resort to lee combat.
In Du You’s hand appeared a green fruit.
Detoxification Fruit: Can eliminate minor toxins, immune to common toxins for twenty minutes (Light White)
Exactly, it was the fruit Du You had gotten from the Goblin tribe. There was no need to save it anymore. As soon as he started feeling uncomfortable, he swallowed the fruit.
"Ugh, this tastes awful. Can’t they simplify dication intake?" He grumbled.
However, his condition improved instantly. This thing was incredibly helpful to counter zombie toxins. Since he wasn’t afraid of the poison any longer, the zombies didn’t concern him. After putting away his staff and drawing his warrior sword, Du You slid into an unusual stride and got closer to the zombie. He had to kill as many zombies as possible before they surrounded him.
