Nowadays, the Wildgrass Clan is not the sa as it used to be. In the past, everyone was fighting for the clan leader position.

Now, no one fights for the two clan leader positions. Everyone knows that being a clan leader is like holding a hot potato; whoever takes it will beco the target of others’ attacks and bear the bla.

This is why, over the years, there are always one or two new clan leaders each year.

These are all pushed up by everyone, the unluckiest ones, but a clan leader is still a clan leader, soone who can speak up within the clan. Especially now, as the clan’s population shrinks, the clan leader’s voice has not completely lost its power.

This ti, soone actively competed for it, making it easy for them to beco the new clan leader. But no one expected that as soon as the new clan leader took office, their first action would be to surrender and seek allegiance with the United Empire they had always hated.

"If we continue to insist, the clan will disappear. Forget about your rights; even your lives will be lost. But if we take the initiative to surrender, we can exchange it for noble status, even if it might not be very high. Just think, if the guys across from us propose surrender first, what would our fate be?"

Suddenly, everyone broke out in cold sweat. Now, the Wildgrass Clan is divided into two parts. If the other side proposes surrender first, they would have nothing left. They would beco commoners and bear such a great sin; this is a path to destruction.

"I agree." An elder who had been persistently holding on suddenly stood up and loudly said.

No one expected that this old stubborn would be the first to agree. "The clan leader is right. If we continue, we will definitely die without a proper burial. Now, the other side can’t hold on either; maybe they’re discussing this matter too."

This elder is a recognized wise man, albeit sowhat selfish. Once he spoke, others dared not ignore him. So very quickly, everyone reached a unanimous opinion.

"Alright, let’s set off now, shall we?"

The clan leader stood up and was the first to walk outside. Just as he opened the castle gate, many people surrounded him, always ready to wipe out the Wildgrass Clan. Whoever eliminated them first would beco a hero and might justifiably take over the city’s managent, even though many wouldn’t listen to them.

But before they could fight, the clan leader of the Wildgrass Clan suddenly yelled, "Everyone, hold your hands! I know the clan has let you down over these years, but this situation cannot continue."

Everyone stopped, wanting to see what this guy had to say.

The clan leader of the Wildgrass Clan said, "I am now the new clan leader of the Wildgrass Clan, representing the whole clan. The outside United Kingdom acknowledges us, so as long as I propose surrender as the clan leader, the outside will accept us. From now on, there will be no more starvation, and no one will starve to death." At this point, everyone lowered their weapons.

They fought like this only for a bite to eat. Although they weren’t very clear about the situation outside, they knew people outside didn’t starve.

"Fine, as long as you can ensure we have food, we’ll continue to support you. But if you deceive us, then wait to die."

Finally, soone spoke up, and everyone stepped aside to make way, though they didn’t leave and kept closely following them. After all, they worried that these guys might go off and do sothing else; no one dared to let their guard down.

At the sa ti, behind them followed carts loaded with the wealth accumulated by the Wildgrass Clan over the years.

Now, no one cared about this wealth, because no wealth was more important than food.

But they knew that once they made contact with the outside world and surrendered, these things would beco very useful. Whether they could live well in the future depended on these things.

The surrounding people didn’t think of these. When they saw this wealth, their eyes filled only with disdain.

"Humph, even at this ti, they can’t forget about these things. The big family is truly troubleso." After all, as commoners, few could see such a simple reasoning.

And those who thought of it didn’t speak up; they quietly left this place. They wanted to take advantage of the last chance to collect so precious items so they could live better later.

People are different, and so are smarter and have broader visions.

Thus, a strange phenonon appeared within the city: so people began collecting these things. And these items symbolizing wealth, many of which were worthless now.

Except for hard currency like gold, all other things lost their monetary significance.

So used gold to buy these items, eager to sell them off. With so many fools suddenly appearing, selling quickly is the only right thing to do. By the ti they realized sothing was wrong, it was already too late.

On the other side, the other half of the Wildgrass Clan still didn’t know what had happened. By the ti they received the news, the opponent had already left the city and made contact with the soldiers outside.

"Not good, they’re going to surrender, we can’t let them go first." The remaining mbers of the Wildgrass Clan finally realized sothing was wrong, but they were a step too late. Now, it was too late to do anything.

When they rushed out in panic, they discovered that Du You, the emperor of the United Empire, was present there.

"I accept your allegiance, and I grant you the title of Count of the Empire. However, because your city is too chaotic, I will not grant you any land. You may seize it yourself. Additionally, within your clan, I will grant three viscount and ten baron titles; you can choose among yourselves." As the first city to assert independence and now pledge loyalty, Du You had to make a show of it.

The other side bowed respectfully, "Thank you for Your Majesty’s grace."

"Wait, wait, I’m the clan leader of the Wildgrass Clan, I agree to surrender, I agree to surrender."

On the other side, another clan leader of the Wildgrass Clan shouted loudly, but Du You only glanced at him without responding. After giving a few orders, he turned around and left this place.

He left behind a group of regretful people, continuously shouting loudly. Finally, so put their sights on those previous people.

"Clan leader, we’re part of the sa family; you can’t forget us."

Those people looked on with a cold smile, now rembering they were part of the sa family. It wasn’t always like that; the hatred between them wasn’t small. Trying to get their titles and benefits from them, don’t even think about it.

The new clan leader signaled with his eyes, and everyone began to gather nearby people. They needed to regroup so people and keep these guys under control; their wealth couldn’t be wasted.
