Four spells hit four spots on the ground, covering the entire space with sticky mucus. As the level of the spell increased, the viscosity of the mucus also beca thicker.
Although the dried corpses were light and wouldn’t sink into the swamp down below due to the influence of the mucus, they were still stuck. Their lightness made it even more difficult for them to free themselves, so the dried corpses all struggled within the mucus.
Du You flicked his body and narrowly dodged Karl’s another attack. "Thank goodness I was prepared, otherwise I’d have fallen into the pit." Du You started to dodge as soon as he cast his spell, without even looking. If he had spared it a glance, he’d have definitely been hit. He didn’t have any defense spells, if hit, he’d have to bear all the damage.
The two special defense spells could only ward off physical attacks, and not magic attacks.
Besides, his opponent was at level 6, which couldn’t be resisted by two level 1 defense gears at all.
In a little over a second, Du You’s Fire Snake Curse was ready. He didn’t use the Spell Splitting Skill, instead, he just cast a single Fire Snake Curse. He didn’t show his face, casually slinging a Fire Snake Curse towards one side of the cave.
As the Fire Snake appeared, it instantly ignited the mucus spread across the floor of the cave. In an instant, the flas erupted, flooding the entire cave in bright light. Blinding radiance and waves of heat surged out of the cave’s opening.
Even as Du You hid on the side of the cave entrance, he could still feel the terrifying heat waves continually brush past him. It seed as though a Fire Snake was rushing out of the cave entrance, attacking everything on the ground.
"Why did the fla start to die out so quickly? My mucus should be able to burn for a longer ti." Very soon, Du You saw the flas starting to diminish. Only in the next mont did he feel a bit dizzy. "Not good, burning requires air, mine isn’t an Elental Fire, the cave doesn’t have much air left."
Finally realizing, Du You felt as though he had done sothing stupid. After his outburst of flas, the air was significantly less. The cave only had a long narrow entrance. It would take a while for the outside air to enter. This wouldn’t do, he had to finish the battle quickly, otherwise he would have to retreat.
As the flas disappeared, Du You looked into the cave.
The dried corpses inside the cave hadn’t been completely incinerated, but there wasn’t much left of them either. The intense fire had quickly dried out the corpses, causing them to burn easily.
Now, apart from a few crippled dried corpses still struggling in the mucus, the rest had been charred.
So mucus remained, but it wasn’t a lot. There were a few flas still burning in the cave, providing more light.
But in the middle, a red light was shielding the altar area, blocking the flas. In the center, a few intact dried corpses were left, together with the struggling mage Karl.
Karl glared at Du You furiously, his eyes filled with anger and resentnt. "You’ve ruined everything. You dog of the Empire, die with here." Karl was barely breathing by then.
Even though the undead aren’t afraid of toxic substances, the undead mages are. Karl, an undead mage, was still human despite everything. The toxic substances blocked by the cave couldn’t dissipate quickly and the place had beco a desperate place.
Only he himself was immune to the poison, but not the case for Karl. With his injuries, Karl wouldn’t last much longer. Furthermore, during the outbreak of the fire, Karl had to rely on an incomplete Magic Array to shield himself from the flas. But in the fire, the incomplete Magic Array lost its power and got completely destroyed.
This was sothing he had spent years to achieve. Karl felt like he had no more chances to continue. The fact that he could persist up till now was purely due to the hatred in his heart.
Yet now, all of this was destroyed by this unexpected person.
"Damn it, he still has moves like this left." Du You muttered.
But due to the protective shield, Du You couldn’t stop anything Karl did.
Karl resolutely smashed a crystal stone on the ground, causing the ground to shake. The intact altar began to crack in the middle, fragnting bit by bit, like sothing was trying to burrow out.
"Intruder, although I don’t know who you are, I want you to die here with ." Karl’s face transitioned from fierce to calm, as if he was reminiscing about sothing.
Even though he hadn’t died yet, he seed no different from being dead.
The red shield suddenly disappeared and Du You quickly launched an attack. He temporarily disregarded the few dried corpses in front of him, and cast a Disintegration Spell towards Karl. At this mont, Karl didn’t show any intention of dodging.
The Disintegration Spell hit its mark and Karl finally shattered, just like a porcelain doll, breaking into several pieces. There was no blood flowing out from him, he slled rancid like a slab of rotten at.
Sure enough, this guy was no longer considered a human despite his human features.
Du You cast the Disintegration Spell again, shattering the few remaining dried corpses on the ground.
At this mont, the crack on the ground grew larger and larger. Suddenly, at a certain point, the earth and rocks erupted, and the entire altar was overturned. A large figure slowly stood up from within the earth and rocks.
"What is this, a spider? No, it doesn’t seem like a spider." Du You was puzzled as he looked at the dark figure.
But in the next mont, Du You saw the na of the monster.
Dried Corpse Giant Monster: Level 6, Unfinished.
"Damn, it’s already at level 6 and it’s just unfinished. How many levels will it have after it’s complete? Level 9 or 10." Du You was shocked. That undead mage was truly talented to be able to create such a creature.
This creature, five ters tall and struggling to move even in a spacious cave, slowly started to move. Its four heads gazed around confusedly.
These four heads were human, but much larger, dried out, and wore strange expressions.
Six long and slender legs grew from its body. It crawled on the ground like a spider, supported by these six legs. It had two arms at the front, but they had greatly mutated into claw-like appendages, glinting coldly.
The body bore many signs of stitching and fixing, clearly sealed up with pieces of corpses. The whole figure looked like a cobbled-together monster. Its dried-out muscles gave it the look of a refugee, but the dangerous and evil aura it emitted wasn’t deceptive.
