After transforming Ke Jisi, Shaliya stayed with Du You, bringing Ke Jisi to the Star Ring’s vast world. At this point, the new domain still looked sowhat dilapidated, but it was mostly restored.
"Haha, this place went through a major battle before, so it’s a bit ruined, but it will be fixed soon. The domain is now tier four, but it’s not far from tier five," Du You explained, although the two didn’t completely understand.
Shaliya nodded. As the manager of the domain, Shaliya of course knew that such wars were essential. However, the fact that the enemy had managed to fight their way to the holand this ti indicated that the foe was no simple threat.
Du You quickly appointed Ke Jisi as the deputy lord. Du You valued Ke Jisi not for her familiarity with this world, but for her managerial talents. After spending ti with Shaliya, Ke Jisi’s learning capabilities were very strong. In a short period, she was not far behind Shaliya in managent skills, only lacking in experience.
It wouldn’t take long for Ke Jisi to thoroughly adapt to this new world.
Most importantly, with Shaliya around, Du You didn’t have to worry about Ke Jisi feeling dissatisfied or slacking off. Even those who were subjected to Law Formalization and contract-bound still held their own thoughts.
"Your assistant has gone to battle with other planets, I’ll introduce you to her when she returns," Du You said.
Ke Jisi nodded and started perusing materials without saying much. If she encountered sothing she didn’t understand, she went directly to the temporary commanders from the Academy Faction for consultation, leaving Du You with nothing to do.
Seeing that Ke Jisi had entered the right state, Du You simply took Shaliya out for a stroll. In the future, Ke Jisi would likely need the assistance of her "sister" Shaliya for things she didn’t understand.
anwhile, on a life-bearing planet not far from the Harry Asteroid, a group of people was fiddling with sothing in a secret chamber. At the center of the chamber was a giant Magic Array.
The Magic Array was inlaid with many odd and unrecognizable items. At the center, there was a pitch-black statue, vaguely spherical in shape, but its details were indistinct.
About a dozen people in black robes had been setting up and waiting here, not for just a day or two.
"The target has appeared. We just received the news—on his territory. Let’s begin."
"I really don’t like casting spells across soone else’s domain, it weakens a significant portion of our power. But we’re so well-prepared that it shouldn’t be a problem. Once we’re done, we’ll seize the Harry Asteroid."
"Right, we need to act before too many people learn of this, or else it’ll beco troubleso."
The group quickly prepared and then placed two items next to the statue. The ritual conductor began jumping around in a seemingly ridiculous fashion, but a curious energy slowly gathered, spreading towards the center. Gradually, the entire Magic Array was enveloped by black power.
"Master, what kind of curse is this?" asked soone beside the Magic Array who was not participating but rely observing.
A person in black spoke softly, "This is the Indifference Curse. Once afflicted, the person will be gradually disregarded by those around them, effectively becoming invisible." This curse was well known among those present.
"But what use is this curse? It doesn’t seem to cause any direct harm."
"Heh, of course there’s no direct harm, but it’s more severe than direct harm. The Indifference Curse will isolate soone gradually. People and other creatures will slowly start to ignore them. Whatever they do or say will no longer matter to anyone else. Humans are social beings; isolation is the greatest tornt."
"Moreover, this isolation will gradually wear down the enemy’s spirit, which for a Professional could cause problems in battle, ultimately leading to their death in the Other World."
"That’s powerful. Can’t anyone remove the curse?"
The elderly person in black spoke softly, "Of course, but only a Professional who specializes in curses and has the skill to remove them could do it. With so many of us working together this ti, no one below tier six could possibly lift it."
This was their confidence. The Academy had tier six experts, but those were not easily mobilized. Du You was just a student with no powerful connections; the Academy would not readily deploy a tier six expert to assist him.
By the ti Du You realized sothing was amiss and sought help, it would be too late. By then, the Academy would disregard Du You’s existence, making it even less likely for those high-tier professionals to co to his aid.
Moreover, it was uncertain whether the Academy had a tier six expert who was proficient in breaking curses.
"We’ve located the targets, both are locked on. Let’s start," soone from the locating team suddenly spoke.
The conductor of the Magic Array altered the incantation imdiately, and the colossal curse energy began to consolidate. Through the central statue, the curse was magnified and a curse shot out instantaneously, disappearing without a trace.
However, most of the power was still being gathered and had not been released yet. It was aid at Du You. As the conductor waved his arm, a powerful curse energy shot forth, piercing through space.
All of them sat down on the ground, panting and sweating profusely. If one were to lift their robes, they’d see that each person’s face was exceptionally pale, as if they had been through a severe illness. "Rest," said the leader, and everyone on the ground began to recover from their considerable expenditure.
Elsewhere, Du You was giving Shaliya a tour of the entire domain along with the two sisters, at the sa ti explaining the use and function of various things. It was then that a force suddenly fluctuated in the sky.
"What’s going on, this is the energy of my domain, and the Mage Tower has reacted too," Du You felt a force in the sky drawing near, causing a significant conflict with his domain’s energy.
The weakened force didn’t vanish but instantaneously headed straight for Du You. Before he even thought to dodge, he was enveloped by this energy. The next mont, a giant eyeball appeared above Du You’s head.
It was the Eye of the Death God, which had sohow activated on its own. The encroaching energy clashed violently with the power of the Eye of the Death God. Without fully understanding what was happening, the energy was reflected back, strengthened. Du You’s Eye of the Death God was also instantly covered in cracks, now needing ti to recover.
"Curse backlash? Wait, have I been cursed?" Du You finally realized what had happened.
