Noah ascended the stairs from the second floor, his victory on the previous level still tingling with adrenaline. The air on this new floor felt stagnant, heavy with a silence even more oppressive than the dankness below. It was a silence broken only by the faint drip of water sowhere in the distance.

As he stepped out onto the third floor, a wave of nausea washed over him.

''Ugh! How unpleasant.''

The stench hit him first – a putrid mix of rotting flesh and sothing unnaturally sweet, like decaying flowers. He squinted through the dim glow emanating from Nesis, his eyes struggling to adjust to the gloom.

The first thing that registered was the unnatural stillness. Gone were the damp walls and bioluminescent fungi that had characterized the previous floors. Here, the walls were rough-hewn stone, stained an unnatural black that seed to absorb even the ager light from his blade.

Then ca the sight. Tall, skeletal trees, their bark long stripped away, stretched towards the unseen ceiling like skeletal fingers clawing at the heavens. Leafless branches, gnarled and twisted, reached out accusingly in all directions. The air itself hung heavy with a sickly green haze, obscuring the depths of this twisted forest.

A shiver ran down Noah's spine. This wasn't a dungeon built of stone and magic; it was a place of death, a chilling facsimile of a forest ravaged by so unseen catastrophe. The very air seed to reek of decay, a tangible reminder of the lifeless things that once dwelled within these petrified woods.

As he cautiously ventured deeper, the crunching of dead leaves under his boots was the only sound that broke the silence. Each step forward felt heavier than the last, the oppressive atmosphere draining his enthusiasm. This wasn't just a test of skill or speed; it was a test of willpower, a challenge to push past the primal fear that clawed at the edges of the challenger's mind in this eerie place.

The oppressive silence was shattered by a sudden, unearthly screech. A large bird, its feathers a sickly green, its eyes glowing with an unnatural red light, erged from the dead branches of a nearby tree. Its razor-sharp beak clacked nacingly, promising a painful demise.

Noah raised Nesis, a surge of dark energy coursing through his arm. This wasn't a place for hesitation. He was here to win, and he wouldn't let this morbid forest or its monstrous inhabitants deter him.

''Hiyaah!"

A primal roar erupted from Noah's throat as he charged forward. The skeletal trees blurred past him, their grotesque forms fueling the fire of determination in his eyes. The carrion bird, its screech still echoing in the dead air, seed to hesitate for a mont, surprised by his sudden aggression.

But hesitation was a luxury Noah couldn't afford. Fifteen ters bridged the gap between them, a distance he covered in a heartbeat. With a burst of strength, he launched himself into the air, defying gravity for a fleeting mont. Nesis, imbued with sword energy, sang a deadly song as he unleashed his signature attack.

"Sky Slash!" he roared, his voice tinged with the power of the abyss.

A diagonal wave of sword energy erupted from the blade, a black crescent moon tearing through the sickly green haze. It t the carrion bird head-on, the creature's surprised screech cut short as it was cleaved cleanly in two. The two halves of the grotesque bird rained down in a shower of gore, landing with a sickening thud on the carpet of dead leaves.

Noah, with a practiced roll, landed gracefully on the unforgiving ground. He barely had a mont to catch his breath when the earth beneath his feet began to tremble. A low rumble, growing steadily louder, filled the air. The ground split open just a few feet away from him, and from the gaping maw of the newly created chasm, sothing rose.

''Grrr!"

A groan, raspy and filled with an otherworldly hunger, escaped the creature's decaying form. It was a zombie, its flesh a mottled green and grey, its eyes vacant and milky white. But this wasn't a lone monstrosity. More rose from the depths of the chasm, a horde of the undead shambling towards Noah, their hunger palpable even in the oppressive silence of the dead forest.

"Hah! Seriously, zombies?" Noah sighed, a hint of disappointnt mixed with amusent in his voice. These creatures, slow and predictable, were hardly a challenge after the trials he had just overco. But their sheer number could be troubleso. A single zombie was easy prey, but a hundred? That required a different approach.

A mischievous smile spread across his face. With a flick of his wrist, he channeled his Fla Art. Nesis, responding instantly, beca a beacon of crimson fla. The dark energy that usually coursed through the blade was replaced by a searing heat, the flas dancing rrily around the obsidian edge.

Looking at the approaching horde, Noah couldn't help but grin. This wasn't just a test anymore; it was a ga, and he knew exactly how to play it.

"Now it's getting fun!" he declared, his voice echoing through the dead trees. And with that, he charged towards the shambling horde, his flaming blade a beacon of destruction in the heart of this morbid forest.

Noah like ouragan, carved a path through the shambling horde. Nesis, a blazing cot in his hand, left trails of smoldering ash in its wake. The zombies, slow and mindless, were no match for his speed and ferocity.

With each swing of his fla-engulfed blade, a zombie was cleaved in two, its desiccated flesh erupting in a hiss as it t the searing heat. Noah moved like a phantom, his every step leaving an afterimage that danced in the sickly green light filtering through the dead trees.

He was a blur of motion, a symphony of violence, his movents honed by years of training and fueled by the thrill of the competition and the primal satisfaction of combat.

The air grew thick with the stench of burning flesh and singed hair, a grueso counterpoint to the sweet, cloying decay that perated the dead forest. The once silent forest echoed now with the sizzle of burning flesh and the guttural groans of the undead as they t their fiery demise.

A dozen zombies fell, then twenty, then more. Their numbers, while overwhelming at first, seed to dwindle with alarming speed under Noah's relentless assault. He weaved through them with practiced ease, his fla sword a scythe reaping a grim harvest.

The remaining zombies, their decaying minds struggling to comprehend the fiery whirlwind before them, began to hesitate, their shambling advance faltering.

But Noah wasn't about to give them a chance to regroup. He let out a war cry, a primal roar that echoed through the dead forest, and with a final, devastating flourish, he swept Nesis in a wide arc. A wave of fire erupted from the blade, engulfing the remaining zombies in a searing inferno.

They scread, their inhuman shrieks quickly extinguished as the flas consud them, leaving only smoldering embers and the acrid scent of burnt flesh in their wake.

Noah stood panting amidst the carnage, his chest heaving, his body slick with sweat. He surveyed the battlefield, the silence broken only by the crackling of dying embers. The dead forest floor was littered with the charred remains of the zombie horde, a testant to his swift and brutal victory.

A surge of exhilaration washed over him.
