Frank channeled his connection with his ho through the Realm he had created and the Barrier Formation there, instantly teleporting himself to the house.
"Mom! Dad!"
He called out as he found them downstairs. He placed Kai gently on his bed and rushed down. The sharp sll of blood stirred old mories—or rather, dreams of another Frank—his heart pounding.
"Mom!"
He burst into the room to find his mother bleeding from a deep wound on her left shoulder. His father, covered in bleeding bruises, stood bravely wielding the family heirloom—an old katana—against a swarm of imp-like Yokai.
"G-Get away! GET AWAY!"
His stepfather defended his wife with desperate courage even as his own life ebbed away. He had no powers, nothing at all—just an ordinary human fending off these creatures alone.
"F-Frank?!" His mother gasped as he rushed in. "You're back—Ah! There are monsters! Run!"
"It's okay!" Frank said firmly. "Michael, heal her please!"
"Yes." An angel materialized, startling his mother. Michael gently placed his hands on her wound, restoring it to perfect health in monts.
At the sa ti, Frank charged the Imps. He kicked and smashed them apart with raw fists until every last one lay broken and dead.
"Haa… Dad!"
"S-Son?"
His stepfather collapsed, gasping for breath.
Frank knelt and embraced him tightly, channeling Lifeforce through Gift of Life.
"Aaaahh… Ugh… thank you… But… wow… you're… you're so strong, haha…"
"Frank!"
His mother ran to him and wrapped her arms around him, sobbing into his shoulder.
"Kai is gone! She's gone, Frank! Kai is gone! I don't know where she is and… and the world is ending! Monsters everywhere! Everyone is dying, Frank!"
"C-Calm down, it's okay. Everything… will be okay."
Frank held both parents close, healing their wounds fully before nodding.
"I rescued Kai. She's upstairs," he said, closing the door. "Co."
He guided them to the bedroom. His parents burst into joyful tears the mont they saw Kai sleeping peacefully on his bed.
"Kai!"
"My daughter!"
Frank offered a small, relieved smile as Kai slowly stirred. Her parents enveloped her in fierce hugs, crying against her shoulders.
"Mom? Dad? Mom! Dad!"
Kai cried happily, hugging them back with equal force. Everyone dissolved into tears once more.
"I-I must have had a nightmare…" Kai sighed in relief. "Brother… Um, why are you… why is everyone covered in blood?!"
"It's… well, that wasn't a nightmare," Frank said gently. "Kai, you were likely abducted by so entity controlling the ga you were playing. I found you and brought you back here."
"W-Wha… What? Nani?! Eh?! Ah?!" Kai stamred, completely lost.
"It was all over the news, yeah," her father nodded heavily, sighing. "T-The world is ending…"
"Monsters are coming from hell to eat us…" her mother whispered. "B-But we'll find a way… we'll find shelter sowhere… and wait until the storm ends, right? It has to end, right? R-Right?"
Frank glanced out the window. A colossal crack tore through the sky, linking this world to endless realms and overlapping planes. "Yeah, it will end. I will make sure it does." He turned back to his family with a determined smile.
He clenched his fists, the weight of his strength settling over him. This power existed for monts like this—to protect people, to save his country—no, the entire world—from annihilation.
"Son, you… you have powers?" his mother asked quietly.
"I noticed too…" his stepdad nodded.
"Really?!" Kai's eyes widened.
"…I do," Frank admitted with a bitter smile. "It's a long story but… Mom, my father—he was sothing called an Overseer. Think of them as a kind of Cosmic God."
"W-What?!" His mother gasped in disbelief. "Y-Your dad was…!"
"The reason he disappeared was because of his origins," Frank explained. "To avoid persecution by his enemies. Dad was once a great king ruling a vast expanse in the cosmos, but he was betrayed and forced to flee. He landed on this planet by chance. While slowly recovering his power, he t you."
"…"
"…"
"…"
"My powers… co because I am his son," Frank continued. "I've had them for a while now… I'm sorry for never telling you sooner. Before, the Our World and the Supernatural World rarely overlapped, so it wasn't easy to speak about these things. I'm sorry I didn't co earlier. I was caught up in so many problems… And even now, friends are waiting for to help them."
"Son…" His mother cried softly, nodding. "I see… Heheh… I always knew you were special, my dear… So your father left us to protect us? So we wouldn't beco targets of his enemies…"
"Yes…" Frank nodded, exhaling slowly. "That's the truth. Now… I have to do sothing about all of this. I have to… beco many."
"Many?" Kai tilted her head. "Huh?!"
Frank touched his heart. A clone of cosmic energy erged, then another, and another, and another.
Dozens of Heart Avatars materialized. He sent them soaring into the city to rescue as many people as possible and slaughter any monster or foe in their path.
He also sensed Heart Avatars from Kireina and a white-haired man wielding a sword—was that Susanoo?
"We'll be fine here," his stepdad said firmly. "Go, son. You've got a city to save."
"No," Frank shook his head. "Co. I'll show you a safe place where I'll send everyone else I can rescue."
He opened a portal and guided his family through.
It was his Cosmic Realm, Genesis—now fused with his Heavenly Domain—forming a vast cosmos filled with countless smaller realms.
Among them lay a large, inhabited realm perfectly safe for humans.
He teleported the entire house inside and provided them with food and supplies.
"W-Wow…"
"This is amazing, what is this?!"
"Woooow!"
"It's like an inner world of sorts," Frank explained. "Okay, I have to go now… A lot more people will arrive soon as I rescue them and send them here, so please, if you can…"
"Of course, we'll take care of them," his stepdad said with a nod.
"Leave it to us!" his mother declared. "Go, dear! I… I believe in you!"
"Yeah!" Kai nodded fiercely. "I… barely understand what's going on but yeah! Go for it! Ugh, my phone's broken though…"
"NO MORE PHONES!" her mother and father said in unison.
"Okay, okay… geez, sorry…" Kai sighed, finally acknowledging how her phone addiction had contributed to this nightmare.
Frank gave a soft smile and approached his sister. He kissed her forehead and pulled her into one last tight hug.
"I love you, Kai. Take care," he said.
"I love you too, oni-sama!" Kai hugged him back with all her strength.
Then Frank leaned close to her heart and whispered, "If sothing ever happens to … and I can no longer return, I will leave Mom and Dad to you."
"Eh?" Kai's eyes widened. "W-What are you talking about…"
"Here." Frank infused his power into her. Kai felt sothing awaken deep inside. "This is my last gift as your elder brother."
"Brother wait!" Kai cried, but Frank had already teleported away. "Ah…"
She stared in stunned silence at her hand. A strange rune glowed there, shaped like a galaxy with a brilliant star at its center.
Kai didn't fully understand yet, but she knew her brother had entrusted the family's safety to her if the worst ca to pass.
She was still just a girl, but she wasn't a coward.
Kai nodded, brows furrowing with resolve.
"Please stay safe, Frank…"
Still, in her heart, she prayed desperately for his return.
