It was ti to do so Alchemy and get it over with!
Doctor Frankenstein offered simple materials: green grass, a purple-leafed herb, orange mushrooms with tiny eyes, a radish with a screaming face, a mummified human arm, and three types of blood in bottles. They were all interesting, and because they originated in this world, they emanated rich cosmic essence alongside many elental particles.
In this world, these materials were just common things to make low-rank items, but outside, they could create premium-grade cosmic materials. In a way, this entire world felt like a "higher realm" where rare items from lower realms were so common they were considered cheap.
To make these items, the doctor asked his daughter Franky to assist with my first one. While carrying so items, he told to choose from five options in this book. He handed a book of Alchemy Recipes, and I read them.
As I read the book, I quickly found the five options: Blood Potion, Evergreen Tonic, Lifeforce Pill, Sanitizing Potion, and Ghastly Antidote.
For a mont, I pondered what to choose. Franky recomnded the Blood Potion as the easiest. According to her, I had to mix all three bloods with herbs cut into tiny pieces, boil them together, and compress them with Synthesis.
I was initially confused about what she ant by "compressing them," but the doctor quickly explained. The cauldron could act as a catalyst for Alchemy. Since ancient tis, people used necklaces, bracelets, rings, or other items as catalysts to modify the world's elents and "enslave mana" even without magic talent.
These items had to be infused with mana from materials to channel mana and create magical reactions. The many thods and techniques of Alchemy, such as Synthesis, combined materials for stronger results.
Through thousands of years of refinent, these crude creations improved with better items. The Alchemy Cauldron was among the greatest catalysts now, easy even for newbies.
While celebrating she could help , Franky assisted with the Blood Potion. The whole process had to be done ticulously, much like cooking.
"First, boil the three bloods inside the cauldron for half an hour, mixing them together. The order doesn't matter."
I did as Franky instructed, pouring the three bottles inside and gently boiling them. The bloods reacted, changing colors to purple, orange, red, and yellow.
"Shake the blood for thirty minutes using a desiccated hand."
It was weird, but I grabbed the mummified human arm and shook the blood for thirty minutes without stopping.
Eventually, black magic erged from the mummified hand, spreading into the elixir and giving it a dark red color with a thick texture.
"Now add the green grass and the purple-leafed herb."
I had already cut the grass and herbs into tiny bits. I added them to the boiling cauldron and saw a rapid reaction.
"Keep using the hand for another thirty minutes!"
It was mostly a matter of patience.
I followed the instructions. As minutes passed, the grass and herbs lted into the blood.
Then, by touching the cauldron, I said, "Synthesis!"
FLASH!
All ingredients were compressed rapidly. The liquid evaporated, leaving the Blood Potion: an incredibly thick, red, pudding-like substance.
I stored it in a bottle. It was done!
"Whew, that wasn't hard. Mostly just waiting for things to finish naturally," I said with enthusiasm.
"Yes, kind of. That was the simplest recipe in the book though," Doctor Frankenstein said. "Now let test that Blood Potion."
"What are these potions for? Restoring wounds?" I asked.
"Yes, but they also restore energy and vitality, lifeforce," he explained. "By drinking this whole bottle, you won't need to sleep or eat for a month."
"Eh?!" I gasped. "So it's like a super food and energy drink?"
"Indeed. It will also enhance your ability to perceive mana and manipulate your Internal Lifeforce, or Ki," he explained. "It's a potion that always sells. It's used by magicians indulging in research and martial artists pushing their limits. This is how we alchemists thrive, by selling what the other two factions need. Magicians need wealth for research, but pure alchemists like need it most."
"I see..." I nodded. "So is it good?"
"Hm, it is! Well done," he said. "It's decent enough. I would give it a C !"
"Only C ?!" I asked in disappointnt.
"What? You expect an A potion right away? Hahaha! Young lady, you have talent for various things, but Alchemy is one where talent barely matters. It's all about learning, trial, and error."
"Hmm, alright then. Let's keep going. What else should I do?" I asked.
"Huh, you seem eager. How about making the rest of the items in the book? Or as many as you can until classes end in four more hours."
"Sure!" I nodded. "Franky, let's get to it!"
"Eh? Ah! Okay!" Franky nodded.
The other things I could make were:
Evergreen Tonic.
Lifeforce Pill.
Sanitizing Potion.
Ghastly Antidote.
I decided to make the Lifeforce Pill next. This one required a lot of blood, healing herbs, and the mandragora.
The preparation was different. I boiled the blood and crushed herbs into a paste together, then waited until it burned and all liquid was gone, leaving a dark red stone.
That stone was crushed into dust, then turned into the Lifeforce Pill through Synthesis!
The doctor explained its effects: restoring lifeforce and wounds quickly, with a "high regeneration" effect for a day or two.
Of course, the stronger the body, the less effective these dicines were. But for , at the beginning of my growth with a basic human hybrid physique, it was perfect.
Afterward, I made the Evergreen Tonic. I crushed three types of magical herbs into a paste, boiled them until they beca thick green goop, added monster core dust, then used Synthesis.
This created a green, thick liquid that tasted like a vegetable shake. It enhanced natural mana regeneration, mana perception, and the ability to see and communicate with mana.
As before, this low-quality potion mostly worked for weak people. Stronger magicians like witches and arch mages wouldn't benefit.
With my Blood Potion, Lifeforce Pill, and Evergreen Tonic, I decided to return to my room after another hard-working day.
"Wait! Young lady, can't I go with you? S-Shall we have dinner together?" Franky asked before I left.
"Oh, are you sure, Franky? Of course, co along!" I nodded. "This young lady would gladly have you for dinner."
"Kyaaaa! Really?! I can't believe it! I am so excited I might zappy zap!" Franky was so excited that electricity sparked from her body.
"Wait!" Doctor Frankenstein interrupted. "Franky, you're still not a mber. Stay for now. I don't want trouble arising with you."
Franky seed eager to follow , and I wouldn't have minded having her for dinner, but her father insisted on keeping her in his domain.
Apparently, she wasn't an official mber of the organization. By policy, family mbers, wives, husbands, and children of mbers gained protection and could ask to join. They were allowed to roam certain areas and benefit from special services.
"But father, I already have many friends out there, and I've road for a while! I even joined the Young Lady's Official Fan Club!" Franky said.
Official?
