I always thought the Doc was soone ruthless but…
Maybe he also changed over ti?
His original creation, the Monster of Frankenstein, left him due to being a bad father.
But after all this ti… did he improve a little?
Maybe inspired by my own father raising … after all, Franky is quite young.
Even monsters can change when they experience love, huh? We can all relate to that here. We are a band of misfits, haha.
"I'm sorry father…" Franky sighed. "Ummm…" then she looked at . "I-Is she the young lady?"
"Yes, bow and show her respect, Franky," the doctor said. "She is Kireina, the daughter of our great lord."
"Oh my gosh! Is it really you?!" Franky cried like a fangirl. "I've dread of the day we could et! Kyaaaaa!"
"I-I told you to show respect!" her father tried to stop her, but Franky ran toward , opening her head to reveal her brain covered in stickers shaped like or purple butterflies. "I am a big fan!"
"F-Fan?" I felt slightly bewildered. "Where did you get those stickers?!"
"From the Young Lady Fan eting!" Franky smiled. "There's a lot of people in the organization that love you and are your fans, young lady! You're our idol!"
"A-Am I?" I was surprised. "I haven't done anything incredible to earn so much love…"
"W-What?! rely being born is enough!" she giggled. "You're as wonderful as I thought, aaahh! It's such an honor! Can we take a selfie?!"
"S-Sure…" shocked, I stood there as she took a selfie while making a peace sign with her fingers.
I didn't know she even had her own smartphone…
Every ti I et soone from this organization, it's always soone quirky and out of the ordinary, huh?
Maybe Father and I are magnets for these kinds of people.
"Kyaaaa! Thank you so much! I will cherish this photo my entire life!" Franky giggled while smiling at . "A-Ah! I must sll terrible!"
"You have no sll…" I said. "You are technically not a zombie, right, Doc?"
"Heh, I am glad you understand my genius, young lady," the Doc said. "Indeed! Franky is my latest and most brilliant creation! While I failed with the first being I made, she's the perfect… living being! I have finally created a human out of alchemy! Heheh… well… not completely, as you can see she's not entirely perfect."
"It's fine, Dad, I'm happy how I am!" Franky said.
"But you must continue evolving," the Doc said. "Eventually I will master the power of the Philosopher's Stone I made and fully recreate your body… you will beco a true human—no, a high human!"
"Dad…" Franky sighed. "Being a Homunculus is not so bad…"
"You could always be happier as a proper human… you always say you want to interact with people and go to school, right?" the Doc asked angrily.
"W-Well…" Franky seed to be happy how she was, but she indeed seed to long for more things that normal humans could do. "I'm glad… that I am alive by your side…"
"…"
The doctor looked down, showing an expression full of thought… but he was also flustered.
He just wanted to give his daughter the best in the world, huh?
I understand how he feels.
"Hmph, always saying such things… Franky, you must always aspire to more," the Doc said. "Ahem! Anyway, I apologize for all these distractions. Shall we get to it, Mirabilis, dea?"
"Very well," Mirabilis nodded. "Your daughter is adorable, Doc."
"Yes! She's such a cutie! Why don't you show her to us more? You always keep her in this tower," dea said angrily. "You're hogging this cutie all for yourself!"
"W-What are you even implying, you stupid woman…" the Doc said angrily. "I am just protecting her, she's still developing… I can't afford to let her go on missions yet either. Technically she's not part of the organization. This is also a reason why she can't roam outside so easily."
"…" Franky looked down. "Father, can't I join, though? I've already learned how to fight!"
"Not yet! I must perfect you," the doctor said.
"Eeehh…" Franky rolled her eyes.
"Well, soon there'll be an entrance exam," I said, looking at Franky. "Perhaps you could join. If you succeed, you'll beco a mber of the organization anyway. Your father can't really stop you."
"Ooohh?! Really?!" Franky asked, her eyes glowing with golden lightning. "M-Maybe that's it! Young lady, would you help join?"
"Sure! I could—"
"W-Wait a second, young lady!" the Doc said desperately. He was an overprotective father. "You can't just agree to that, she's not… your creation…"
"Doc, Franky is her own person, right?" I asked.
"…Yes," he said. "I didn't make a re drone, she is a free human being… or well, that's what I am trying to create."
"Then you can't just force her," I said. "One day you have to let her go into the wide world outside."
"…But," he looked pained. "I already did that once… and I was betrayed."
He must be talking about the Frankenstein Monster, his first creation.
His eldest son.
"Um… I would never betray you," Franky said. "I am not like my big brother."
"Well… I will think about it!" the Doc sighed. "Let's begin, shall we? We ca here to create elixirs for your foundation, young lady."
"Okay," I nodded. "So should I help?"
"Hahah, you don't really know how to do alchemy, young lady," dea giggled.
"You'll end up making a ss," Mirabilis said.
"What? I have studied on my own!" I complained. "I am not a clueless girl like you all think! I swear I am not stupid!" I said angrily.
"We know you're not stupid," Wasp said. "But even then, the alchemy you've studied simply cannot compare to the mastery Frankenstein, dea, and Mirabilis possess, especially when combined."
"…Right."
I have done a lot of alchemy, but it was all through skills… Did I ever understand and comprehend what alchemy truly was without the system's assistance?
No, not at all…
