"UUUAAAHHHHH!"
CRAAASH!
Triton’s body shattered into pieces as the Mutated Esper watched the boy’s entire body fall apart and disappear into particles of light.
"Yes! Ehehehe! I won! Eheeheh! I- Huh?"
He laughed, celebrating his victory, but also felt weird and strange, like...
"Light...? Where’s the at at?"
Wasn’t he supposed to leave so at at least?
FLASH!
And then he felt it. The Mutated Esper glanced ahead, seeing a bright azure and golden light surge from the area where Triton had been.
To his surprise, the boy was not dead. What’s more, his body had undergone a complete shift.
As if he broke out of his cocoon, his True Form erged.
His Soul Body and his True Soul rged into one.
A being entirely made of Divine Soul Essence.
"R A A A A G G H H H H H!"
Triton roared furiously, barely keeping his sanity as he leaped toward the monster, smashing it into the floor with imnse force!
CRAAASH!
"W-WHAT...?! IMPOSSIBLE! WHAT ARE YOU?!"
The golden and azure-colored ethereal dragon roared, possessing a huge, humanoid, muscular body. He swung his two gigantic fists down, smashing the Mutated Esper with a furious onslaught!
BAAM! BAAM! BAAM! BAAM!
"GUUAAAGHH! S-STOP YOU FUCKING BASTARD!"
The Mutated Esper scread in agony! His body received terrible wounds as Triton’s punches spread frost through his flesh, freezing it and then shattering it apart.
He roared, his Psychic Aura surging like an ocean of crimson ethereal blood, shaping into spiraling fingers and piercing Triton’s body.
CLASH! CLASH! CLASH! CLASH!
"HEHEH! NOW THAT’S- HUH?!"
However, to the Mutated Esper’s surprise, Triton’s body was strange, as if it were both phantasmal, ethereal, and liquid. Blows against him barely did anything directly, and even though he pierced holes through him, Triton quickly recovered.
One thing the Mutated Esper seed not to have properly learned was Soul Piercing attacks, Triton’s only weakness in this state. That the Mutated Esper could destroy his Aura or Soul Beasts didn’t make him capable of using Soul Pierce, as this was a much more complicated technique.
"T-This is ridiculous!"
His only option now was to use so much raw psychic power that Triton’s soul would waver and weaken by itself. He knew he had so weird power within him, sothing he never thought he had had until he arrived in this world, but would that be enough?
It wasn’t.
"G R Y A A A A H H H H H!"
Triton roared angrily, punching his entire body again—chest, crotch, arms, shoulders—and then opened his jaws, biting through the Mutated Esper’s shoulder and tearing off his other arm, leaving him limbless.
"A A A A G G H!"
The Mutated Esper attacked Triton angrily, concentrating all his Psychic Power into a single crimson point, another spear, this one almost materializing.
"D-DIEEEE!"
The spear rushed toward Triton, aiming at his heart.
However, Triton smirked, suddenly showing a slight glimpse of reason within his berserk state.
He shapeshifted his body with great effort, creating a hole in his chest where the spear passed through, striking the barrier behind him.
BOOOMMM!!!
And exploding.
"I am... getting... getting used to... to this form...!"
Triton had trained intensively since Drake recruited him, and now he was finally beginning to take control of his True Form.
"RUUAAAHHH!"
With a ferocious draconic roar, Triton opened his jaws, firing a destructive breath attack at the Mutated Esper at point-blank range while grabbing him with his claws, ensuring he wouldn’t escape.
"Uuuuaaaggghhh!"
The monstrous Mutated Esper’s entire body disintegrated. When Triton finished, he left only a pile of crumbling ashes behind.
"Ugh..."
Triton almost lost consciousness but resisted the urge, remaining awake as his body continued in this state. He felt he could stretch it a bit longer now. Each ti he used it, he got a little better.
Especially after he grew his soul so much and now had two sets of Soul Gear.
"Right, the other guy! Athyst!"
He rushed after Athyst, finding her facing the leader of the four Mutated Espers, the most "normal" looking one, with a size resembling that of an average tall human.
His body was covered in hard crimson and bronze-colored plate armor, his face like a mask with only two glowing red eyes beneath and a pair of large black horns on his head.
He carried no weapons or anything. It was just that.
Therefore, they were wary.
A foe this simple-looking, who was the leader of those monsters, couldn’t possibly be easy to deal with.
When Triton arrived at the scene, he saw Athyst going all-out, using her Archetype’s powers and battling him.
His form had suddenly shifted. His armor turned deep black, his body size beca thrice as large, with bulging fleshy red muscles underneath the armor, and he wielded a huge glowing black sword made of bones, skulls, and pulsating flesh with red eyes.
"You might have beaten that clown, but he’s nothing compared to what I can do! I was an Esper Master before turning into a Mutant! And I have awakened supre power that I could have never had as a re human!"
The Mutated Esper laughed, his giant black sword slashing the air horizontally as a shockwave of dark psychic power reached Athyst, clashing against her sword of light. Her holy light powers surged as she tried her best to counter it!
RUMBLE!
"Uugghh?!"
She was sure he wasn’t as strong as Umbral! However, there was sothing weird, that "force" within all Earthlings that made them capable of strangely "negating" a part of the power of this fantasy world. His attack seed weaker than hers, but her own attack simply weakened, becoming weaker than his.
And the worst part was, the stronger the user was, the stronger this "force" beca, capable of weakening or even outright negating more power.
And with each passing second, this thing absorbed the atmospheric mana like a sponge, boosting his power rapidly to new levels he didn’t even have before!
