The reactions were mixed, but in the end, about fifteen percent of the people decided to brave the wildlands on their own. Drake handed them so money and injected knowledge into their minds about several things so they could manage on their own, such as sleeping in inns or growing stronger to survive in this world.
Most of those who chose to go alone into this new world were young adults who had dread of fantasy worlds back on Earth, people who saw this as their "Isekai" and wanted to test if they could survive independently.
The rest were quickly moved into Drake’s Divine Realm, while Chris Bluefield and his team, who had been taking care of the shelter where most of these people ca from, went inside as well, helping Drake set up everything for them.
Drake, with Fuyu’s help, easily built a town using their Creation Magic and provided people with bathrooms, kitchens, and vast farms where they could harvest fruits and vegetables. at was also brought to them by Dragon Spirits every day.
Of course, he didn’t want these people to get too complacent. They would eventually need to figure things out and beco mostly self-sufficient, surviving here while waiting for the day they could return to their hos or perhaps make this their new ho.
anwhile, Chris Bluefield’s "team" consisted of only two other people he trusted: a young blonde man with green eyes, who seed mostly ordinary but had sothing "weird" about him, according to Miranda, and a woman with long red hair, sharp blue eyes, and a slender figure, an Esper nad Lucia, a forr coworker of Chris.
"What’s his na?" Miranda wondered, pointing at the blonde. "He doesn’t talk?"
"He’s Jake. He doesn’t speak too often, but he’s a good fighter and... he’s a good kid," Chris Bluefield said, smiling at Jake, who shyly looked away.
"We found him when the whole Zombie Apocalypse broke out," Lucia explained.
They were enjoying a good al with the survivors right now, next to the large farms beside Drake’s castle, the first proper al they’d had in a while, as the dwarves had only fed them hard bread, water, and sotis cheap wine.
"I see..." Drake nodded. "I was wondering what you went through before you got transported to this world. Do you rember?"
"We do..." Chris Bluefield said. "After I managed to stop Miranda’s rampage, I went after Ivan with several other agents. Lucia here joined as a special Esper Unit capable of going against the bioweapons Wesker created. The battle was intense. We almost died. Many of my n were lost that day, but we won..."
"Turns out that after we defeated him, the bastard had a failsafe of sorts. Once his heartbeat stopped, special laboratories opened across the country, spreading infected through various cities," Lucia sighed. "It’s barely been a month since then, and the world has truly gone to shit..."
"Oh, I’m so sorry..." Androda comnted. "It must have been very harsh... but you’re safe now, in here."
"Thank you... I an it," Lucia sighed. "Even though I’m still processing that a three-ter-tall translucent lady is telling that right now... wow, this world is really quite sothing."
"Hm..." Jake suddenly spoke for the first ti, or rather, made a noise.
He was looking at Benladann and Miranda, as if curious about them.
There was sothing within them that...
That he felt a strange connection with.
But he couldn’t quite tell what it was, even though it shouldn’t be possible.
He was in another world, and these people were aliens, not exactly humans.
And yet...
"What’s up with this guy?" Miranda asked.
"Don’t be an with him please... he’s still sohow... I don’t know, but he doesn’t know how to speak too many words," Lucia said. "Jake, is the food good?"
"It... it is..." Jake nodded, having just finished his plate. "Thank... thank you..."
"Aha, don’t mind it," Drake said with a smile. "I’m glad you liked it, Jake."
"So that’s what happened after he died, huh?" Alma wondered, sitting close by, hearing everything. "It’s really a pity how things have turned out... I had no idea he even had that failsafe, son of a bitch..."
"Truly, a piece of shit until the end..." Miranda nodded.
"Hm?" Chris was confused. He heard these ladies speaking and couldn’t help but think they knew who they were, and even who Ivan was. "How do you know him? You speak as if you were once on Earth... Did you read our minds using your Esper abilities or sothing?"
"No, they haven’t. I would’ve been able to tell," Lucia said, looking at them with curiosity. "Just why do you know this much?"
Drake looked at Benladann, Miranda, and Alma. They agreed to tell the truth, as it might be more believable than any other excuse.
"I know this may sound crazy, but we are people from Earth too," Drake said. "We reincarnated in this world years ago."
"W-Wha...?!" Chris’ eyes widened. "You’re joking, right?"
"No..." Lucia said. "I see... so that’s why it felt so strange, your souls... or part of them, truly feel like they belong sowhere else too..."
"..." Jake remained silent but then spoke out of nowhere. "Are you... my sister?"
"Eh?"
Benladann looked at Jake, her eyes widening.
Silence took over.
For a mont, even Chris and Lucia were surprised. Jake had never talked that much before.
Jake scratched his neck anxiously.
"Sorry... no... never mind..."
"..."
Benladann looked down and then glanced at Chris Bluefield.
"I know this sounds weird... but... but I am... or well, we are her," Benladann said. "We are Miranda, the girl you had to take down."
"Yeah..." Miranda said, deciding to tell the truth as well.
"..."
"..."
"..."
This was too much. Chris was paralyzed, trying to make sense of all these crazy coincidences, but he couldn’t quite believe this was real life anymore.
Was he dreaming after being caught by zombies and eaten alive?
Was he an infected roaming the streets, his mind trapped in this endless dream?
"Chris... Miranda is... the girl you...?" Lucia asked.
"Yeah..." Chris’ eyes looked unfocused as he gritted his teeth and grabbed his head.
