"W-What are you even talking about?! Surtr... Erald?! Why are you comparing to people I’ve never fucking t in my life?!" Athyst scread angrily.
"I know you’re going through a lot, and it’s okay to let it all out. I just want to help, and I’ll stay by your side until you learn to trust ," I said, glancing at her eyes.
"GAAAAHHHHH!"
She roared angrily, rushing into the skies and trying to hit them with her claws, her tail, her jaws, and then released a deadly breath attack, but nothing, the skies remained unmoving, she could not escape.
"THIS ISN’T FAIR! YOU TRAPPED HERE!"
"And why do you want to run away? Don’t you want to fight ? Does that an you recognize I’m stronger than you and that you cannot win?"
"That’s...! NO! I CAN...! I’LL BEAT YOU!"
She roared, rushing down and kicking in the face, but I was unmoved, smiling as I grabbed her leg and then lifted her up with my single arm, then, like a ragdoll, I spun her around.
"UWAAAAGGHH!"
As she scread in shock that I had such strength, I quickly sent her flying away, as far as I could.
"WHAAAAAAT?!"
As she scread in disbelief while flying away into the sea next to this continent within my Divine Realm, I appeared by her side, kicking her down with as much force as I could without killing her.
"I am stronger than you."
CRAAASH!
"GUH?!"
She vomited blood, feeling her bones breaking and her lungs filling with blood, as she hit the ocean floor within a split second, creating countless cracks through it.
SPLAAASH!
The oceans trembled, as I rushed down, facing her once more as I summoned a giant trident of water and ice, pointing it at her while making the oceans spiral.
"Y-You...! You can control water?!"
"The Dragon King can master all Elents, that is what makes your King."
"That’s cheating!"
"Is that so?"
I swung the trident down, as a giant whirlpool of water impacted her body, making her entire body dig even deeper through the ocean floor, shattering the tectonic plates one by one.
BOOOM!
Until she reached the volcanic depths, falling through a hole and into a sea of boiling magma. She barely remained alive, as she quickly kept herself from falling into the hot magma, gasping for air and glaring at with hatred.
"It’s not...! It’s not over yet...! It’s not...!"
She was bleeding, exhausted, it seed that her will was finally wavering, the mask she was wearing, the baseless and reckless pride she had... it was shattering into pieces.
"It’s not fair!"
She started crying.
Athyst put her hands over her face, as I noticed Jord appearing by my side.
"Mom...! Mom...!"
She started calling for her mother...
"Why did you had to die..."
"A-Athyst...!"
Jord tried to go towards her, to comfort her.
However, I stopped her, putting my hand in front of her.
"W-Wha...?! Drake! Let go see her, she’s crying! I promised her mother that-"
"I understand your love for her, but this is wrong."
"What?!"
"You’re spoiling her too much, you’re allowing her to gain comfort with you and therefore, to never grow past her grief and traumas."
"..."
"I know how you feel, and I also want to hug her, to pet her head and tell her that everything is going to be okay but... that’s not how you help soone grow."
"A-Ahh...!"
Jord looked at Athyst breaking into tears, as she cried more and more.
"You have to make them face their fears, to make them accept their loss... you have to let the girl mourn."
"Athyst... I’m sorry..."
Jord cried by my side, looking at the young dragon while feeling frustrated with herself, perhaps by her own weakness as well.
I waited for a while, until Athyst stopped crying, although tears were still silently falling from her eyes...
I slowly floated to her side, I didn’t pat her head, nor her shoulders.
I didn’t hug her either.
"Athyst."
"..."
She looked at in silence, her eyes filled with grief and pain.
"Athyst!"
"What?!"
"I see."
"Eh?"
"You still got that attitude, but that’s good."
"What are you talking about...?"
I smiled, feeling pleased.
Despite all the pain she had gone through, and despite how she was crying just now.
That snarky attitude, her powerful personality.
Those are actually perfect traits.
"You still got the drive, right? That fla inside of you that’s telling you that you have to fight and grow stronger, right?"
"..."
She remained silent for a mont and then looked back at .
"Yes..."
The sun was setting behind us, creating quite a moving scene.
"Do you want to avenge your mother?"
"Yes!"
"Do you want to kill that bastard of Umbral?"
"I fucking want to!"
I nodded, smiling.
"Good."
"Huh?"
"That’s good."
"What? I thought you didn’t want to...?"
"What? When did I said I wanted you to abandon your goals? They’re perfectly fine to . Did you think I would tell you that revenge is bad or sothing? I am not so sort of saint; I am just a dragon that happened to be chosen as the dragon king."
"A-Ahhh..."
"Athyst, you’re stubborn but you got your heart in the right place, but that mask you were wearing, that arrogance and pride was detrintal to your growth. It was clouding your judgent."
"Was I...?"
"I want you to tell what you want now, Athyst."
"..."
She looked at with surprise, finally beginning to understand the type of person I was.
I don’t know how she looked at before, but that idea of was completely wrong.
And now, she was finally about to open her eyes.
"Please... train ..."
"Huh? I didn’t hear you well, what did you say?"
"Ugh..."
"Co on...!"
"PLEASE TRAIN ! OH GREAT DRAGON KING!"
"Hahahaha!"
I laughed out loud, patting her back as she looked at with anger, gritting her teeth.
Each pat, however, healed her body rapidly, making her feel at top condition.
"Huh? I’m fully healed again... even my divine power and mana is back?!"
