"Well, there were a few towns she visited, she did made friends… dwarves, or a desert elf girl but… well, she distanced herself from them," Jord said. "I…"
"It's alright, I understand now," I nodded. "Let's go to my castle, we'll see how Athyst progresses, and once she wakes up, we can talk with her."
"Okay… thank you so much," Jord sighed. "I've lived through so much, and yet seeing such kindness fills my old heart with hope. You've brought hope to this old woman, Drake… I'm grateful, forever, for all my life I shall cherish you."
"W-What? Okay, calm down…" I felt slightly weird as she touched with her hands, Aegir only laughed a little.
"Sorry Drake, I forgot to tell you my sister is a little flirty when she finds n she likes…" giggled Aegir.
"A-Aegir! What nonsense are you talking about?!" Jord glared at her sister angrily and then back at . "Please don't mind her… she's such a child even now…"
"Ah, yeah, I don't think she's wrong…" I said.
As I regrouped with everyone else in the skies, I explained to them what had happened, they were able to help a little, but I ended up finishing things way too quickly for them to help enough, unfortunately.
Once we secured Athyst and Jord, we quickly moved inside of my Divine Realm while Fuyu started moving towards the nearest big city which we wanted to explore and find clues about Umbral, find out what the locals know about him, and if there's any areas he had attacked or planning to, alongside his territory and more.
I oversaw Athyst recovery with Jord and Benladra, and she seed to be recovering fast, Benladra connected her magic with my Life Force, which I used to feed with energy to the young, malnourished dragon.
This helped her regain nutrients by absorbing my own energy, and her body stabilized fully, without looking as thin as she looked before.
"She seems to be recovering wonderfully, thank you Drake," Jord smiled, sighing in relief as she saw Athyst sleeping over a large bed for dragons I had prepared for her. "She even got a comfortable bed… for her size! That's really surprising."
"Of course, we are all dragons here… or well, the great majority," I said. "So we know how to handle these things…"
"Seems like she's recovering just fine," Benladann nodded. "I wonder when she will wake up? I am looking forward to seeing her again…! Your battle against her back then was really amazing, and she really pushed you to your limits, didn't she?"
"Yeah, back then we were pretty equal in power," I nodded. "She was a genuinely threatening figure… to think that I would surpass her in these last two or three years… and now she's stuck, unable to surpass that wall."
"Well, without ascending to a Venerable, is it even possible?" Miranda asked.
"I an, we're surpassing it, right?" Benladann asked.
"Yeah but we're cheating! We got special stuff," Miranda said.
"Not entirely, you're also growing stronger without the special stuff," Androda explained. "The System only amplifies you're already existing growth and talent… or sotis grant talent to the talentless by amplifying what little they already have. Leveling Up and Skills accelerate growth but your potential is incredible already."
"A-Ah…" Miranda nodded. "I guess it is? We're not normal at all to begin with."
"Yeah…" Benladann giggled. "Anyway, I'm sure Athyst could benefit from the System, Drake. Do you plan to share it with her?"
"I do," I said. "But I feel like that alone won't do… she needs a little more help."
"You… excuse Drake, but what exactly do you plan to do with little Athyst? I've been wondering for a while, aside from goodwill, why did you save her and bring her here?" Jord wondered. "S-Surely… you're not planning to make her one of your many wives?! That's… please spare her! She's so young…! I am willing to take her place if that would appease your desires…"
Jord suddenly beca flustered while grabbing her body with her arms, as I took a step back.
Indeed, this woman is a little…
"No, I had no such intentions with her to begin with!" I groaned. "When I fought her, I saw within Athyst an incredible, boundless potential. I want to see her grow stronger, she's soone very special, a perfect hybrid between Earth and Light Dragons. As the Dragon King, her wellbeing is also my responsibility now, she's my family… and I must help her. She's going through more difficulties than I ever imagined, and it is my duty to protect her and raise her now."
"I see… you're so kind!" Jord smiled happily. "Thank you… Oh thank you so much!"
"It's alright, please… stop touching …" I muttered, as I felt her arms made of sand all around my body.
"Hey Aegir, isn't your sister a bit too touchy?" Benladann wondered.
"Well I kind of don't mind, she's made of sand…" Miranda said.
"She's indeed quite touchy…" Androda giggled.
"Hey! Stop it! I knew there was sothing going on!"
Suddenly Yuki stepped into the room, groaning at Jord, who got scared and hid behind .
"C-Calm down Yuki! It's not what you think! She's just sand!"
"Oh yeah? Then why was she making such a perverted face?!"
"It's not what you think! Calm down…"
"Hmph… Is the dragon girl fine?" Yuki looked down at Athyst.
"She is, just recovering for now…" I said. "Were you worried? You're so nice."
"I-I wasn't that worried, just wondering," she said. "So what now? what do we do with her?"
"She got a grudge against Umbral, a Demon King I must slay… and well, can't you guess? I did help Surtr grow stronger to beat the Fla Emperor," I smiled. "It's kind of similar but not… We'll help her and Jord grow stronger, we'll elevate them to a completely new realm… and we'll help her finally avenge her mother."
