Late in the month.

The Suicide Squad project team was fully assembled.

The film's main cast had been selected, almost identical to the original tiline.

Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn.

Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flag.

Will Smith as Floyd Lawton (Deadshot).

Viola Davis as Amanda Waller.

Jai Courtney as George Harkness (Captain Boorang).

The only difference from the original was the actor for the Joker—Jared Leto. Because of Martin's two electrifying portrayals of the Joker, he had practically beco synonymous with the character, so he would make a cao in the film.

Just thinking about acting opposite Martin made Margot Robbie thrilled beyond words.

And thinking about how her character would be madly in love with the "Joker" elevated her excitent even further.

Maybe we could make it real? ɪꜰ ʏᴏᴜ ᴡᴀɴᴛ ᴛᴏ ʀᴇᴀᴅ ᴍᴏʀᴇ ᴄʜᴀᴘᴛᴇʀs, ᴘʟᴇᴀsᴇ ᴠɪsɪᴛ novelꜰire

She harbored unrealistic fantasies.

[TL/N: If the narrator is already saying things like (Unreaslistic fantasies) That ans the author don't want her to end up with Martin.]

...

On the other side, Zack Snyder, who had been busy on the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice set for half a year, also received news of Suicide Squad's start of production.

After that, the cast and crew noticed the director's demands suddenly ramped up, and his temper grew much shorter.

Gal Gadot, playing "Wonder Woman" on set, secretly called Martin:

"Zack's suddenly gotten strict, like he's been provoked or sothing. We were puzzled at first, until we heard about your movie starting... Hehe, you're putting too much pressure on Director Zack. He's clearly treating this as a competition, with you as his rival."

On the other end, Martin arrogantly replied:

"My only rival is myself. Zack's not bad, but he's not worthy yet."

Martin's domineering words stirred Gal Gadot's heart, and she couldn't resist starting a "phone sex" with him.

When Martin heard the sound of flowing water from the other end, he couldn't help wondering where this woman Gal had placed her phone?

Ah, Gal Gadot ans "waves on the riverbank" in Hebrew—no wonder Gal was so watery...

When it all ended.

Gal Gadot brought up another matter on the phone.

"Martin, Aron's been nagging about kids again. Why don't we make ti to have one?"

Martin thought for a mont and said: "I don't mind. Once you're done with your stuff, we can make a baby."

Gal Gadot: "Mm, hehe."

Poor Aron!!!

......

Martin's version of Suicide Squad built on the original film while incorporating animated plot elents, making it darker and bloodier. You could say there wasn't a single good person in this "Suicide Squad," unlike the original where they were whitewashed.

In the film, every character had a grudge against Batman, because the one who sent them to prison was Batman.

Except for the madcap Harley Quinn, the other team mbers constantly betrayed during missions, testing the audience's nerves.

In Martin's view, the Suicide Squad mbers were originally a bunch of irredeemable villains.

After all, becoming heroes wasn't voluntary—that's what made them appealing, not turning them into self-sacrificing paragons like in the original.

When Margot Robbie arrived in costu, the set erupted in wolf whistles.

Margot Robbie ignored everyone else, walking straight to Martin, twirling once. "How do I look, Director?"

Martin appraised her with an appreciative eye, giving a thumbs up. "Seductive and beautiful—I can already picture how captivating you'll be when you're unhinged in the film."

At that mont, another beauty in costu approached—it was Liu Yifei, playing the "Enchantress."

She acted as if she didn't see Margot Robbie, walking right up to Martin. "How about , Director?"

Martin sized her up too, giving another thumbs up. "Stunning too—valiant, with the air of an ancient Japanese female knight."

Not far away, Jai Courtney whispered to Will Smith: "Is it just , or did the atmosphere on set suddenly get heavy?"

Will Smith whispered back: "Probably not just you. Looks like filming won't be boring."

Joel Kinnaman leaned in. "They won't fight, will they?"

"If they do, who do you think wins?" Will Smith asked with a sly grin.

"Margot's trained in boxing, I hear—but that Kristen (Liu Yifei) has studied kung fu for years. I think Kristen takes it," Joel Kinnaman said.

"Nah, I bet on Margot—she's got the size advantage. Of course, assuming no weapons," Jai Courtney disagreed.

Margot Robbie and Kristen Liu didn't start fighting, of course.

Though they eyed each other with clear dislike.

Especially Margot Robbie—she vaguely sensed Martin treated this girl differently, like there was sothing special between them.

Martin ignored the undercurrents between the two won—as long as it didn't affect filming.

Martin's shooting pace was as fast as ever. If not for the heavy effects work, he figured he could wrap in a month.

Suicide Squad's plot was actually quite simple: The governnt forms a suicide squad of rcenaries, thugs, and villains to handle legally and morally thorny issues, thwarting a plot led by a corrupted figure.

The film's highlights were the anti-hero character designs and the docuntary-style, stylized fight scenes.

In Martin's conception, the movie aid to give viewers the feel of watching a 1970s war film—a fantastical realism in war thes.

His shooting techniques referenced classics like Band of Brothers and Apocalypse Now.

To create grounded, realistic battles, most scenes used practical sets (taking up three-quarters of Warner's Pinewood Studios exteriors) instead of actors performing against green screens.

In art details, Martin avoided grandeur and epic scale, sculpting imrsion from every bit of mud, dust, and gri (like dead palm trees, dim beach structures), while amplifying the squad's final boss battle tension and drama through color restraint and release.

From the storyboards alone, you could see Martin's color handling ideas.

The film's opening was in muted grays, including the prison props, deliberately stripped of overly polished veneers.

As the team's mission progressed, more colors slowly erged in the scenes, until the climactic boss fight, where vibrant effects hues burst forth in full saturation.
