The TV was still broadcasting the small-town murder case.

This incident seed to have blown up big ti, since the killer was white and the victim was Black.

As a result, the Black community had labeled it a "racial discrimination incident."

On screen, Black organizations from all over were staging massive protests.

They held up signs in all sorts of styles:

"Black Lives Matter!"

"Stop the Killing!"

"We Demand Equality!"

Martin figured that it just so happened to be around the ti for the verdict in the case where that white cop, [?], had shot the Black teenager. These organizations were clearly trying to piggyback on this new case to pressure the courts.

But from what Martin rembered, [?] ended up getting acquitted in the end, sparking protests from Black folks and self-righteous types across major cities—so of it even escalating into full-blown riots.

In his impression, Los Angeles had seen riots too, and they’d gotten pretty ugly: hundreds of protesters smashing into stores, flipping cars, shattering windows, setting fires, even attacking crowds. A ton of shops got looted clean.

Sotis Martin couldn’t help but wonder if these guys were just using the protests as an excuse to go on a looting spree and pad their pockets a bit.

While Martin was watching TV,

Kim Kardashian was whispering with Kendall in the kitchen.

"Kendall, what do you think of Martin?"

"He’s great—handso, talented, and such a gentle personality."

Kendall replied, not yet picking up on what her sister ant.

Kim Kardashian nodded, then leaned in close to Kendall’s ear and whispered, "So, do you like him?"

This ti, Kendall got it. Her face flushed bright red.

"I-I, you-you, Kim, what are you getting at?" she stamred.

"What I’m saying is, if you like him, your big sis can help play matchmaker!"

"Huh? What did you say?"

"Why so shocked? Don’t tell you don’t want to?"

"No, it’s not that."

"So you do want to, then."

"I—"

"Alright, sis knows. It’s settled—we’ll set Martin as your target. Go for it, strategize and win him over!"

Kendall’s eyes went wide as saucers. Had she said anything like that just now?

It seed like she hadn’t said a word, right?

How the hell had her sister read it that way?

Wait, she was only sixteen! Strategize Martin???

Hold on... it didn’t seem totally unacceptable, did it!?

Kendall’s mind flashed to Martin’s handso smile, his gentle voice, and those unmatched accomplishnts of his—

Was there any man on this earth more magnetic than Martin?

Nope!

So why not give it a shot?

Kendall startled herself with the thought.

By the ti the two sisters ca out, Kendall’s little face was flushed crimson again.

The girl and her sister Kim Kardashian carried out the finished steaks and lobsters, her eyes darting evasively, not daring to look at Martin.

Martin feigned curiosity, though he knew full well: "Hey, what’s up with you? Why so shy all of a sudden?"

"Ah, ah, nothing, nothing at all. I’m not shy," Kendall babbled in explanation.

"Then why’s your face so red?"

"It’s, it’s hot."

"So why won’t you look at ?"

Whoosh!

Kendall’s eyes snapped right to Martin’s. "I-I never said I wouldn’t look at you."

Martin chuckled.

This was fun.

Teasing a pretty girl like this? Priceless.

After finishing the feast Kim Kardashian had whipped up, Martin politely took his leave.

"It’s getting late—why not crash here at my place?" Kim Kardashian probed.

Martin shook his head. "Nah, I’m good."

Then he pointed across the street to a black sedan parked outside. "That one’s gotta be paparazzi, right?"

"Uh," Kim Kardashian faltered for a second, then shook her head. "I wouldn’t know."

Martin said nothing, just waved to Kim Kardashian and ruffled Kendall’s hair: "See you later, pretty lady."

"Martin, will you call ?" Compared to her sister, Kendall ca off way more sincere.

Martin grinned. "Of course, you bet."

With that, Martin turned and walked off. He knew if he stayed the night, things might get a little steamy, but he wasn’t in that big a rush.

Kendall Jenner clearly hadn’t fully bought into this yet—it was just her sister talking her into it with so slick words.

He’d win the girl over his own way.

Over the next few days, Martin kept up with filming Earth’s Allure.

But he didn’t forget to nurture things with Kendall Jenner, either.

He’d call the little miss regularly, and every now and then, he’d take the two sisters out to so swanky L.A. restaurant for a fancy al.

The outside world had no clue Martin’s real target was Kendall Jenner—they figured this notorious Hollywood playboy was just shacking up with the fitness world’s Kim Kardashian again.

Overnight, Kim Kardashian’s star shot through the roof.

This unexpected windfall was sothing Kim Kardashian hadn’t seen coming. For the first ti, she got a real taste of just how terrifyingly influential Martin was—way more than that basketball or football player crap.

During a break in filming, Martin took the phone from his assistant. "Boss, that was Miss Paris on the line just now."

"Paris?"

Martin thought for a beat, then knew exactly why the woman was calling. He rang her back.

"Martin, you’re not seriously hooking up with Kim, are you?"

Yup, right on the money.

Martin laughed. "Darling, you know —Kim’s not my type."

"Oh yeah? Then how co every tabloid’s buzzing with you two on dates?"

"We just grabbed dinner, that’s all. And there was a third wheel there too—the paparazzi just cropped her out of the shots on purpose."

"Third wheel, huh? Who’s the lucky one?"

"Kendall Jenner."

"Oh, I know that little girl—super cute little— Wait, hold up, I get it now. She’s your real target, isn’t she?"

"Spot on." Martin didn’t deny it.

"Well, alright then. Compared to that weirdo girl you’re with now, I can actually stomach this Kendall kid."

"Looks like our tastes in aesthetics line up." Martin chuckled.

......

anwhile,

Kim Kardashian was fielding a barrage of questions over the phone.

It was from her fiancé, Kanye West.

"You bastard, Kim—what the hell’s all that in the papers? You and that Hollywood playboy screwing around?"

"Shut your mouth, Kanye—show so respect. Martin’s a major client I’m working on right now. It’s just business relations."

"Just business? But the papers—"

"I said it’s business. Are you gonna believe or those paparazzi?"

"Hey, don’t get mad, baby. Of course I believe you."

"Yeah? Good, that’s more like it. We’re getting married this ti next year—you can’t go doubting ."

"My bad, darling. I’ll make it up to you."

"Oh? I’ve got my eye on this Cartier necklace..."
