"Mr. Martin, do you have any other instructions?" Paul asked respectfully.

Martin glanced around before pointing at the carpet on the floor of Warehouse 1103. "Don't you think it's strange for this carpet to be placed here?"

Seeing the confused expressions on everyone's faces, Martin continued, "From the plastic mannequins in the previous two warehouses and this one, we can tell that Charles—no, Michael Gagilo—used these warehouses to store items he considered collectible."

"But a carpet? That doesn't seem to fit the category, does it?"

"Maybe the guy did sothing perverted on it?" a police officer speculated.

"Alright, take the carpet too," Paul ordered.

Martin shook his head. "I don't an the carpet itself. I an, it seems to be covering sothing."

Wentworth Miller suddenly caught on. "Sothing's hidden under the carpet?"

Officer Paul instinctively responded, "What could be under the carpet? It can't be hiding a person, right? Wait—"

Realizing sothing, he imdiately ordered two officers nearest to the warehouse, "You two, lift the carpet."

Then, he addressed the rest of the team, "Be ready for an arrest!"

He also turned to Martin and Lindsay, saying, "Mr. Martin, Miss Lindsay, please step back for your safety."

Wentworth Miller scoffed at Paul's attempt to flatter Martin. If you'd seen Martin in action, you wouldn't say that. Even if all of you cops ganged up on him, you'd still be no match!

Martin, uninterested in proving his combat skills, simply led Lindsay and the others to a safe distance.

The two officers each grabbed a corner of the carpet and swiftly pulled it away, revealing a damp floor and a long tal plate.

"Lift it! Everyone, move in and be ready!"

The officers crowded around the tal plate. The sa two officers carefully pried it aside, revealing a dark, gaping hole.

"Shit! That bastard dug a basent under our company's warehouse!"

The warehouse manager's eyes widened in shock.

Soon, an officer holding a gun and a flashlight climbed down. Monts later, an excited voice ca from below, "Chief! We've found the missing girl! She's alive, just unconscious!"

...

When Amanda opened her eyes, she was t with several pairs of eyes staring at her, startling her into a scream. Then, she spotted a familiar face.

"Lindsay? Why are you here? Where am I? Wasn't I sleeping in my hotel room? No, wait—there was soone by my bed—"

Mid-sentence, Amanda's face filled with terror. She vividly rembered waking up in bed and seeing a shadowy figure standing over her. But before she could scream, the figure covered her nose with a damp cloth. After that, everything went black.

"Miss Amanda, do you rember who kidnapped you or how you got here?" Officer Paul asked.

Amanda shook her head blankly. "I don't know. I woke up and saw soone by my bed, and then I don't rember anything."

"Are you sure you can't recall anything?" Paul pressed.

Amanda thought for a mont, then shook her head again.

Paul's face darkened with frustration. "Damn it! That guy got away again."

At that mont, Martin suddenly said, "Not necessarily."

Then, turning to the warehouse manager, he asked, "Can you check if, in recent years, anyone else with the nas Charles, Michael, or Gagilo has rented a warehouse here?"

"The storage records are on my laptop in my truck. I'll get it now."

As the warehouse manager ran to his pickup, Chief Paul frowned. "Mr. Martin, are you suspecting sothing?"

"I believe soone like Michael Gagilo values his collection very much. Since he hid Amanda here, he wouldn't be too far away."

"Also, he seems lazy with nas. Even when using aliases, he couldn't be bothered to change his surna. So, we might find a clue in the records."

Paul's face flushed. Martin's remark was clearly a jab at the LAPD's incompetence. What a jerk!

"This guy is bold. Maybe... he's hiding in one of the warehouses next to this one or nearby!" A mysterious smile appeared on Martin's face.

The warehouse manager, returning with his laptop, overheard this and looked surprised.

"I found an entry for a 'Michael Charles.' He rented a warehouse earlier this year, and it's located..."

The manager pointed ahead. "Right next to this one—Warehouse 1104!"

"What?!"

Paul exclaid, imdiately shouting, "Open it! Now!"

He also ordered his officers to prepare for another arrest.

anwhile, Amanda, now fully awake, stared at Martin and asked Lindsay, "Is that Martin? What is he doing here?" (At this point, Martin had removed his mask.)

Lindsay explained, "Wentworth told him. Since Charles was recomnded by Wentworth, Martin got concerned."

She added, "Wentworth has been helping Martin look for you the whole ti. He feels really guilty."

Lindsay had ant to assure Amanda that Wentworth cared about her. But to her surprise, Amanda didn't seem interested in Wentworth at all. Instead, she eagerly asked, "Lindsay, can you do a favor?"

Lindsay was montarily taken aback but quickly replied, "Of course. What do you need?"

Blushing, Amanda whispered, "Can you ask Martin for his autograph?"

Lindsay's eyes widened in disbelief. "Girl, you just got kidnapped! Shouldn't you be scared, traumatized, or crying right now?"

"Uh..." Amanda realized her reaction was unusual. After thinking for a mont, she said, "Maybe because everything happened so fast and ended just as quickly. It feels like I just blinked, and you all appeared."

She then lowered her voice. "Besides, I checked myself—I wasn't assaulted."

Lindsay let out a sigh of relief. She had wanted to ask but was afraid of upsetting Amanda.

"That's good! An autograph? No problem! I even have a photo of him—I'll get it signed for you!"

With that, Lindsay excitedly ran toward Martin.

At that mont, Rachel McAdams walked over and eyed Amanda skeptically. "Are you sure you weren't assaulted? It's been over ten hours since last night."

Amanda glanced at her and firmly nodded. "I'm sure. I'm still a virgin. If it had been my first ti, I'd definitely feel sothing."

Rachel's eyes widened, then she snickered, "Well, maybe that guy's 'equipnt' is as thin as a needle!"

She quickly turned serious again and apologized, "Sorry, I shouldn't have said that. I guess... I was jealous."

"Jealous? Of what?" Amanda asked in surprise.

"I'm jealous that Lindsay cares so much about you. Do you know how worried she was when she found out you were missing?" Rachel admitted honestly.

Amanda nodded, then shook her head. "Lindsay is a good person—a true friend. I think no matter who was in trouble, she would be just as worried. Maybe we should be more sincere in our friendship with her."

Her words carried a deeper aning.

Rachel nodded in agreent. "You're right. I approached her with too many ulterior motives before. But from now on, I'll change that. Lindsay really is a friend worth having!"
