Lin Wanyun was taken aback, then chuckled softly, "Right, won’t keep it till New Year."
She wouldn’t make it to the New Year, anyway.
"Look at that Chu Shuang, you can tell at a glance she’s not easy to deal with. Who knows what she’s done to make your husband... Zhan Qing dote on her so much. The main wife is right here, yet she shalessly squeezes into the Zhan Family. It so happened she t soone as easygoing as you, but if it were , her life would be much harder."
Lin Wanyun genuinely laughed, an inwardly heartfelt laugh, "You’re too amusing, I regret not knowing you earlier."
"It’s not too late to know each other now. Let formally introduce myself, I’m Nan Bingyu. My baby’s father is a lawyer, you can turn to him if you need help with a divorce case, he’s absolutely trustworthy."
"Alright, if I get a divorce, I’ll definitely reach out to you guys."
The first thing Zhan Qing did upon entering the venue was to search for Lin Wanyun’s figure.
Among the crowd, he imdiately spotted the woman with the radiant smile and couldn’t help but be stunned.
He almost forgot how long it had been since he’d seen her smile like that. Unexpectedly, it was in such a setting that she was so cheerful.
"Ah Qing, have you seen Miss Lin? She didn’t co with Dr. Jiang today, maybe you really misunderstood her. Miss Lin isn’t that kind of person."
Whether Zhan Qing heard or not was unknown, he strode over to his seat with long strides, leisurely watching Lin Wanyun.
Initially, Lin Wanyun only knew soone sat beside her, not noticing who it was, as she kept conversing with Nan Bingyu, until she saw Nan Bingyu’s gaze settle on the person next to her, prompting her to look over.
At this glance, she locked eyes with Zhan Qing’s stormy gaze, quickly retracting her stare, trying to continue chatting with Nan Bingyu, but found herself unable to concentrate.
Chu Shuang walked over and sat on the other side of Zhan Qing, smiling as she greeted Lin Wanyun, "Miss Lin, Ah Qing waited for you at the hotel all morning, didn’t expect you weren’t there."
Before Lin Wanyun could respond, Nan Bingyu’s voice chid in, "Who is this? Knowing Mr. Zhan, and also knowing Xiaoyun is his wife, who wouldn’t call her ’Young Madam Zhan’? Where did this ’Miss Lin’ co from? What prestigious family fails to understand basic etiquette and titles!"
Since assisting Xi Yihang with divorce cases, Nan Bingyu’s skill in retorting had visibly improved, so much that even Chi Yue occasionally praised her lavishly.
Sure enough, upon hearing her words, Chu Shuang’s face alternated between pale and flushed, an incredibly vivid spectacle.
Yet Nan Bingyu wasn’t finished, turning to ask Lin Wanyun, "Xiaoyun, I heard there was a brazen woman in Beijing who moved into a prominent family with her child, squeezing out the main wife. They say she resembles the original in many ways but lacks the inherent grace of the rightful one. Could this brazen one be the person before us?"
Nan Bingyu had already observed Chu Shuang earlier, noticing her choice of clothing, hairstyles, and manners seed oddly familiar upon closer thought—how could they not be familiar!
Lin Wanyun’s parents were both gifted, and Lin Wanyun, imrsed in their environnt, naturally absorbed their scholarly grace, deeply ingrained in her bones. Coupled with her stunning appearance and fondness for cheongsams, she exuded the grandeur of a noble lady in every gesture.
Chu Shuang was clearly imitating Lin Wanyun, yet failed to capture the essence, radiating cheap awkwardness at every turn.
After speaking, Nan Bingyu didn’t look at Chu Shuang, having seen too many of her kind before. If she glanced over now, maybe Zhan Qing would side with her.
