Chi Yue stood at the entrance of the operating room, holding Fu Mianmian in her arms. Her seemingly calm face betrayed her emotions through her eyes, fixated on the door of the operating room.
Chu Shuo rushed over to keep her company by the door of the operating room, and Fu Hanyan was there as well.
The surgery was taking a long ti. Fu Mianmian had fallen asleep in Chi Yue’s arms and then woke up again.
Worried that Fu Mianmian might be hungry, Chu Shuo suggested that Chi Yue take her to eat sothing. Hesitating for a mont, Chi Yue eventually decided to go with Fu Mianmian.
After eating, on their way back, Chi Yue received a call from Nan Yuan.
"Has Xiao Yu co to you?"
Chi Yue was stunned, "No, what’s wrong?"
"The company called , saying she didn’t show up for work."
Nan Yuan was supposed to be at Fu Rongyin’s company today. Nan Bingyu had promised just yesterday afternoon that she would take good care of Nan Yuan’s company.
Chi Yue didn’t dare to think in that direction, "Is it possible that she went out due to so urgent matter?"
"Her phone is unreachable, and her location can’t be traced."

That statent confird Nan Bingyu’s whereabouts.
Chi Yue knew her demands would be excessive, but she still asked, "What do you want?"
"I want Fu Rongyin. Will you give him to ?"
"That’s impossible."
Ling Jiayu laughed, "You claim you want to repay your debt of gratitude to the Nan siblings, but you can’t even let go of one man. Is this how you show your gratitude?"
"He’s not an object."
"But if you ask him, he will listen to you. Chi Yue, don’t be so quick to refuse. Think over my offer and co back to negotiate with later."
Chi Yue looked at her hung-up phone, a shadow of gloom in her eyes.
She dialed Nan Yuan’s number, and he answered almost imdiately, "Chi Yue?"
Chi Yue took a deep breath, "Xiao Yu is with Xi Yihang."
There was a long silence on the other end.
Chi Yue continued, "Ling Jiayu said if I give her Fu Rongyin, she’ll help save Xiao Yu."
It took a very long ti before she heard Nan Yuan’s voice again.
"Today we live in a society governed by law, Xi Yihang won’t harm Xiao Yu. There’s no need for the word ’save’. I’ll go to the police station. You go back to the hospital and wait for news."
Chi Yue tried to say sothing, but it felt like her throat was blocked, "Nan Yuan... I can do it, once he wakes up, I’ll ask for his opinion."
"Have you lost your mind, Chi Yue? Don’t forget, he’s your lawful husband now. If you abandon him while he’s by your side, not to ntion how others would see you, how would you live with yourself? Haven’t you rembered those things already? You’ve been entangled with each other for ten years, and just when you can finally be together properly, why would you give up on him?"
"I haven’t given up on him. I just..."
"Xiao Yu will be fine. I’ll figure sothing out. You take good care of Fu Rongyin and don’t let anything happen to him."
"I..."
Nan Yuan didn’t give her a chance to respond and hung up the phone.
Fu Mianmian fell asleep in her arms again. Chi Yue sat on the hospital’s grass with Fu Mianmian, holding her phone, lost in thought.
It wasn’t until Chu Shuo called that she took Fu Mianmian back to the entrance of the operating room.
