Chi Yue stiffened, instinctively straightening her back.
The man pulled out a seat next to her and sat down, “Heard everything?”
Chi Yue nodded calmly.
The man squinted at her, his eyes hawk-like, as if he saw prey.
Chi Yue couldn’t remain calm; she stood up, “I just rembered there’s work at the company, so I’ll take my leave.”
Just as she stood, she stumbled over sothing, and before she knew what happened, she found herself seated in Fu Rongyin’s lap as she grasped for sothing to hold.
Chi Yue got up from him, but the man was quicker to encircle her waist with his arm.
“Chi Yue, when did you learn to play hard to get?”
Chi Yue struggled a bit and, failing to free herself, retorted angrily, “In broad daylight, aren’t you afraid of ruining your reputation?”
Fu Rongyin said flatly, “I don’t care.”
“But I do.”
Chi Yue finally got up from him, “I ca to ask about last night, the front desk said that I was calling out your na. Can you tell what happened last night?”
Fu Rongyin glanced around the restaurant, “You want to talk about it here?”
“Otherwise?”
“If you don’t mind making it known to everyone, I can cooperate.
Seeing the restaurant getting more crowded, Chi Yue finally stepped back, “Let’s go to my room.”
Fu Rongyin looked at her surprisingly, “Okay.”
Chi Yue thought that in her room, should anything uncontrollable happen, she could imdiately seek help from the next room.
Fu Rongyin seed to read her thoughts, “Your secretary has just gone to check out the venue and isn’t in the hotel. Right now, whether it’s in my room or yours, your safety can’t be guaranteed.”
As the elevator was about to reach the floor, Chi Yue said, “Are you planning to commit a cri?”
Fu Rongyin laughed lightly, “That’s not certain.”
Chi Yue, of course, didn’t believe him; she trusted he wouldn’t ruin his own future.
So when they reached the room, she fearlessly closed the door in front of him.
The two sat down, and Chi Yue said, “You can speak now.”
Fu Rongyin leaned back on the single chair, his expression lazy, “What do you want to say?”
“About last night, and why I ended up in your room.”
“How do you want to say it? That you sleepwalked out of your room, and then I forcibly took you back to the room?”
Chi Yue frowned slightly, “You know that’s not what I want to hear.”
“Then tell , what should I say?”
“Fu Rongyin, I don’t have ti for jokes.”
Fu Rongyin finally dropped his casual deanor, “I can answer, but first, you answer one question.”
“What question?”
“What exactly happened in prison that year?”
He had made arrangents, set up a placent, and appointed people, yet in the end, she still ended up in such a predicant.
At his words, Chi Yue pursed her lips tightly, her deep-set eyes emitting a forbidding coldness.
“Aren’t you omniscient? If you want to know, investigate it yourself.”
“How do you know I haven’t looked into it?”
“If you had found out, why would you ask ? Mr. Fu, if you don’t want to tell the truth, you could just refuse straightforwardly; there’s no need to treat like a fool.”
In Chi Yue’s view, soone as resourceful as Fu Rongyin would definitely have ways to discover the truth if he genuinely wanted to, but his denial ant he was deceiving her.
Fu Rongyin studied her for a while, then suddenly said, “You also know that there’s nothing I can’t find out, so tell , when you went to prison, were you already pregnant with my child?”
